I'll probably be around tonight, if you're available. Probably sometime after 9:30PM EDT. I can sit on TS with you while you run the Oculus setup. And we can try and get you squared away.

So, after I posted, and after we talked on TS, I started noticing major problems. TS does not play well with CH stuff at all. So, after reading the TS forums, it seemed like the problem was stemming from the Gampad and Joystick Support Plugin (added to TS 3.1.1). I have no idea what this does, as I don't need hotkey support from TS. So I went to Tools > Options > Addons. And uninstalled it. Now everything works fine.

They even have an iPhone app for radiooooo.

And now for something completely different. My wife told me about this today. http://radiooooo.com/ Pick a country and a timeframe, and away you go. You can then screw around with the mood: Slow, Fast and/or Weird. Wanting to dive immediately into the bizarre, I selected Fast / Weird, and East Germany during the 1970s. And got this jem: Enjoy!

I have a CH fighterstick with the Scroll Lock programmed as my TS button. But... I haven't changed my TS profile recently. So maybe I'm just in the sweet spot of not having messed with it. I hope that they resolve this soon, as it seems like a serious problem. Have you been using Voice Activation in the meantime?

I haven't heard of this problem. Do you have a link to the discussions on the TS boards? I currently use the Scroll Lock button as my push-to-talk. And have no problems with the release. But I'll let you know if it starts having issues for me.

Woot! You're going to love them. I do. When you get Oculus up and running, definitely try DCS and Elite. It's a whole other ballgame. Even BoX is pretty damn cool.

Great video, Luft! Response curves are something I never really screwed around with, mostly because I was always a bit intimidated by them. When I get back to flying ROF, I'll definitely give them a look.

Currently, in Elite, I'm using VR Ultra. And I'm adjusting the pixels per pixels display override to 2. My computer was built in November, though. I've be happy to post my specs if that would help.

This is an excellent idea Guys! The core principles Moxy outlined are very important, and we should always be aspiring to improve on them. Regarding #3, "you come first - keep your wingman alive to keep yourself alive": Moxy asked me last night for some details on this. Specifically on how to make it a bit easier to say and understand. So, I hope you don't mind if I go into some detail here... To clarify, we don't mean that you should be self-centered, and refuse to assist your wingman! To quote "No Guts, No Glory," pg. 9: "While you are a wingman, think as a wingman and play on the team. When you get to your Tactical Organization, you will find that being the best wingman in the Squadron is the quickest way to become an element leader! Play on the team - No individualists!" So, when we say "prioritize your life," what we mean is this: You can't protect your wingman if your dead. And if you're wingman's dead, he can't protect you either. So, achieving mutual support within an element means understanding that no one person can be aware of all dangers, and that you need each other. The wingman complements the element lead by helping the entire element better understand the threats and overall tactical situation. And part of this is thinking tactically, and acting smart. Don't just rush into things head first, thinking that your wingman is going to pull you out of it. That's how you get both of you dead. And this is where a basic "Wingman's Contract" comes in to play. This isn't a "JG1 trade secret", so I don't have a problem posting it here. Honestly, it's just common sense stuff. So, if non-JG1 people want to get involved in the discussion, I'd love to have outside viewpoints. Either way, the Wingman's Contract is an offensive and defensive agreement that happens between an Element Leader and his Wingman. Usually, it happens before take off. It can be verbal (where a real conversation takes place), or it can be non-verbal (where pilots who fly with each other all the time just "grunt and go"). But it should happen. The Wingman's Contract should highlight your element's mutual discipline, as well as your goal of flexibility. Here is my personal Wingman's Contract, which I always try and bring to the table: MY WINGMAN AND I... Will tactically support each other Will keep up tactical Elemental maneuvering Will work single bandits over using the Engaged / Free doctrines. Will value each other more than we value the kill Will set a soft deck and try not to go below it Will set a hard deck and not go below it Will escort each other back to base when damaged Will fly our aircraft to their strengths Will tell each other when we're not flying our aircraft to their strengths Will keep up "Triple C" Communications at all times - clear, concise, correct. For me, I kind of say some version of this as a mantra before I take off. By saying it, I'm reaffirming it. I hope that all makes sense.

Very cool! Guthrie Govan reminds me a lot of Robert Fripp. I like the Japanese thing, though I'm not sure if I can completely appreciate it (as modern Jazz is a bit lost on me). Speaking of Japanese bands, I was recently turned on to Ningen Isu (Human Chair). Honestly, if you're into Hard Rock / Metal, they're amazing. Very popular long running career in Japan, though they've unfortunately never really crossed over into North America. They're hugely influenced by Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Budgie, and King Crimson (speaking of Fripp). Honestly, any band that lists Budgie as an influence is alright in my book. Budgie are amazing.
