  1. Su22 or even the Su7 would be a great addition to DCS!
  2. G model is also my most anticipated variant. I think it would be cool af running hunter killer teams with F-16s the way the 561st TFS did in the 1st gulf war. That being said, I am curious to see what upgrades the E variant that gets released will have. The Phantom lived before Blocks to designate upgraded equipment & things were done pretty haphazardly. You would have to climb into a jet to see what systems it had. Its possible (if a later model is chosen) that we could do SEAD with the E model. Alas, many questions & few answers. We will have to wait & see
  3. Ive pretty well got AAR in the Tomcat licked. That was my issue as well. I felt like I had to have something to line up on. I never tried lowering the seat, but my solution was more of a feeling my way in. I'd line up on the basket & slowly drive in until I connected. IMO being properly trimmed out is more important in the Tomcat than any other jet. If you are properly trimmed out as you approach the basket you will see a gentle porpoising to the basket. That is the impact of your wings moving. I found by "splitting the difference" as it were between the high & low spots of that porpoising you will connect every time. Once connected look right at the tanker (you cant see it because of the canopy frame) to use as a reference to stay in position. Ditto, IMO its the hardest jet to AAR with. Its twitchy even when trimmed & the lag time on the throttle is significant making it hard to stay connected.
  4. FWIW my guess is the Mossie will land on the 28th but there are those that think the Apache will be it. Apache is a complex beast so I just cant believe they have it done... Or ready for early access rather. The Mossie OTOH is pretty straightforward.
  5. It actually makes it easy. Whos to say they are wrong??
  6. Its ED's special release. My guess is that ED didnt want HB stealing their thunder...
  7. And to stir the pot a bit more. An announcement from Heatblur. So that makes you wonder what this special release for the 28th is? I have my own ideas but lets see what y'all think.
  8. I am working on that myself. I thought I was pretty good in it but VF-2 is showing me there is always more to learn.
  9. I do it both ways regularly. I hate having the VR hood on my head for a protracted time, it gives me a headache so I rarely use it on "Mission" nights. For me its easier in VR in aircraft with offset probes (Harrier & F-14) I guess because of the spatial awareness. Aircraft with the probe mostly aligned with the fuselage (F18, Mirage) I see no benefit being in VR.
  10. Yep, it was. You did well. IIRC you only disconnected once.
  11. Deleting screen shots & came across one to good to not post. @Yogi & @Klaiber in the reform area & @Vonrd chasing the basket.
  12. I just stumbled upon this. I know there are some Zip4 lovers here so thought you might find it interesting. https://www.i-f-s.nl/vietnam/
  13. Sure I'll but it cant say as I am excited about it. If it dont burn JP-8 its just a diversion...
  14. Very clean & efficient rig, I'm impressed!
  15. A significant advantage. The Hornet is a nose authority dogfighter. The only jet in DCS that can match it in that area is the MiG-29. However, the MiG-29 can only do that if he can maintain his corner speed (750ish KPH). A decent Hornet driver will tighten down his turn which forces the 29 to either match it (which slows him down opening his turn allowing the Hornet to out rate him) or maintain his turn giving the Hornet a snap shot when the 29 crosses his nose. The 29 still has some tricks he can pull but all things being equal (pilot skill). The Hornet can currently beat every fighter in DCS in a guns dogfight. That will change when the Typhoon gets released. Its is the best Gen 4+ NATO nose authority fighter in the world.
  16. The whorenet drivers are wringing their hands & gnashing their teeth about this.
  17. Yeah the HP cables are allot heavier than Oculus ones. My solution was to do a loop with the cable behind the headband secured with zip ties. This provides some slack to the cable preventing it from wearing out the socket (a significant problem with the G1), provide a counterbalance for the weight of the headset making it balance on my head but it also makes the cable fall down my back so its out of the way & I dont notice it.
  18. I actually figured out why I wasnt able to fire the outboard rockets, I was suffering from a near terminal case of cranial-rectal impaction. On the Mirage you can select which pylons are active. I forgot to select all 4 pylons

    SCAMMERS

The scammers are getting smarter. I am convinced if they put 1/2 as much effort into making a living as they do into scamming they could probably make a decent life for themselves.
  20. Ive got an used MFD (just 1). Free to a good home if anybody wants it?
  21. I go to Dayton almost every year (it's close) but I've been meaning to check out the Naval Aviation museum for awhile.
  22. It is a fun jet, a real joy to fly. The issue is getting airborne. With its anemic engine & the payload you see it took the better part of a 6000ft runway to get enough speed to get airborne. On a positive note, throttle management is easy. Leave it firewalled until you are ready to land!
  23. Decided to give the trainers a little love tonight.
  24. No rust to be found here... My bombing was even pretty solid. No mean feat doing it using compression angles. Low level bombing is all about speed & sight picture though.
  25. Interesting... Razbam is working on one as well. Ive heard they are extremely capable aircraft but it just doesnt trip my trigger for some reason. A Bronco though...
