I have got to get this running again... Wheels

Not sure if even building a new aircraft carrier as the video uploader mentions at the end of the video would solve or even mitigate the problems in the Russian Navy. Wheels

Only time will tell if Jason's new sim impacts that road map they just laid out. Wheels

I searched and I was surprised to see that it was not already being discussed so here it is: Combat Pilot is the new project of Jason (Burnin) Williams formerly of TrackIR 2004-2005, GoGamer 2004 -2009, RoF/777 Studios 2007-2020 (President), 1C game Studios 2012-2022 (Exec Producer IL-2 Great Battles series). Combat Pilot Website: https://combatpilot.com/ Combat Pilot Survey: https://combatpilot.com/community-survey/ Combat Pilot Forums: https://forum.combatpilot.com/ Combat Pilot Mission statement?: https://combatpilot.com/intel/ Since some of the newer generation may not remember Jason was also the CO of the 777AVG of the original IL-2 series. Internet Archive save: https://web.archive.org/web/20130318033708/http://777AVG.com/ List of survey questions: Wheels

SPOILERS!!! Top Gun Maverick Discussion Thread
wheelsup_cavu replied to Shadepiece's topic in JG1 Videos & Screen Caps
Yep, same here. Jennifer Connelly is not truly old enough to be Penny though. She would have been 15 or 16 at the time of Top Gun so the fact he had buzzed here prior to that time would have made her even younger. I happened to like Top Gun Maverick better than the original Top Gun. It pushed all the right nostalgia buttons for me and had enough new content to stand on its own merit. Wheels -

The novelty of a flyable Glider definitely peaks my interest. Wheels

Montemayor's video channel
wheelsup_cavu replied to wheelsup_cavu's topic in JG1 Videos & Screen Caps
I agree. In my opinion Montemayor's videos rival several documentaries that have been put out by big name studios. Wheels -
I knew that was Planes of Fame's Zero even before I saw the tail number. Besides this gem the uploader has some other pretty interesting videos. https://www.youtube.com/@-juno-takaleon3830 ------------------------------------------- Those wide open areas around the old Norton airbase, Lake Mathews, and Chino airport where he was flying in that video are fairly hemmed in now with houses and warehouses. https://goo.gl/maps/7Eu2wUhcU5FBXhqK7 ------------------------------------------- Wheels

I had one of my best sorties in quite some time. Also had a not so great sortie too. Wheels

That was an interesting read @Klaiber. Considering how many links were in the article the fact that only two went to nowhere was actually quite a nice change of pace. Ghost Skies – 2010 to 2012 https://ghostskies.jg1.org/ (No internet archive saves available for this link.) The Arrival of Combined Arms – 2019-2020 https://www.simulatedcombatgroup.com/ (https://web.archive.org/web/20200126092639/https://www.simulatedcombatgroup.com/page/1160153) I liked the Simulated Combat Group image quite a bit. Looking for the Internet Archive links I posted for Lowengrins former website in this post reminded me that I needed to look at the Links section at M4T again. Since so many of the old IL-2 websites have went by the wayside in the last 5 years I am regularly updating the Links area to have the links go to an Internet Archive save so that there is something available for anyone new to the game to check out. The saves of the websites at the Internet Archive are almost always shells of their former selves but it is better than nothing. By a fortuitous stroke of luck I decided to check the Sim Junkie Internet Archive link posted at M4T to make certain it still worked and I came across a link to the Sim Junkie former forums which is when I saw your username as one of the moderators and the Clash of Titans links. It still amazes me how far we have come with the graphics in modern sims. It is amazing how so many screenshots look to be real. Wheels

Any dcg campaigns available for download?
wheelsup_cavu replied to Skycloud12's topic in DCG Public Discussion
A request like this is frustrating as heck for me now since I know I had downloaded all of the files that had been hosted on the old lowengrin(dot)com website. I just had a 2 TB hard drive fail about a month ago which sent all of my IL-2 files into the ether. Still in recovery... ;owengrin(dot) com, Internet Archive snapshots: Articles: https://web.archive.org/web/20130123021713if_/http://www.lowengrin.com/content.php?article.cat.8 Downloads: (None of the download links work) https://web.archive.org/web/20141212180313if_/http://www.lowengrin.com:80/download.php?list.6 Wheels -

Just came across this news a couple of days ago. Article at Stormbirds blog. The product still appears to be on sale on Steam with publisher Retroism, a group that calls themselves a “haven for timeless games,” appearing in the publisher information section. There are comments coming from multiple forum posts that Atari is buying it back (or changing an agreement) but I’ve not yet found any official statements or links to any statements to corroborate. Field of Glory II Medieval - Tutorials

Thankfully it is only $5.99 for all three Great Battles Titles at GoG at the moment so it would not be a huge cash outlay to find out. From the video you posted it reminded me quite a bit of the Panzer General series of games. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_General#Legacy A couple of those Panzer General Titles are available on GoG too. Panzer General 2: https://www.gog.com/en/game/panzer_general_2 Panzer General 3D Assault: https://www.gog.com/en/game/panzer_general_3d_assault Wheels
