These guys were on my plane from ATL to SYR, yesterday.  I didn't recognize any of them but knew they were a rock band by their various styles.  The drummer fit the bill the most.

Rhiannon Giddens is a true polymath. I started following her when she was part of the Americana / Roots band Carolina Chocolate Drops. In July 2020, Giddens was named Artistic Director of the cross-cultural music organization Silkroad founded by Yo Yo Ma. She has a program on PBS, "My Music with Rhiannon Giddens"... well worth a watch. She is focused on bringing world cultural folk / roots music together in a fresh melding of cultures. Note the Romani / Eastern European Jewish interlude in this stellar rendition of "Saint James Infirmary".
