November 22, 20178 yr Author comment_33736 Those are great cuts Vonrd! Always a big fan of Booker T. When my wife and I were driving through Memphis about 10+ years ago, we got the chance to see the Stax Musuem, built on the location where Booker T. and the MGs recorded Green Onions. It was amazing. Honestly, the list of artist that had recorded at Stax is amazing too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stax_Records#Stax_artists Report

December 1, 20178 yr comment_33886 This song is off one of the first CD albums I owned as a kid. Has remained one of my favorites. I've also been listening to this one by Barlow Girl. I really like the tight harmony! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8QubLxJI54 Report

December 13, 20178 yr Author comment_34208 I haven't heard of Amaranthe, but they remind me a lot of Nightwish. I like them. Report

January 3, 20188 yr Author comment_34624 Tear For Fears is one of my top 5 favorite bands. Songs From the Big Chair is an amazing album, as is The Haunting. I'm also partial to Raoul and the Kings of Spain. Have you heard any of Roland Orzabal's solo album, Tomcats Screaming Outside? It's very good: My favorite Simple Minds song has always been New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84): Report
January 3, 20188 yr comment_34629 Speaking of 1970, try Spirit - Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus. Great album - it holds up very well today - many excellent cuts. Give it at least a 45 second listen! Report
January 3, 20188 yr Author comment_34630 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koD-ZRxYOSQ I got 16 of 24 I think you've just elevated this thread to new levels. Music quiz! I got 20 out of 24. I goofed on the name of the last one in the 1960s. I called it something else. I missed the first one in the 1970s. And I missed the first and fourth in the 1990s. I knew the fourth in the 1990s, but couldn't think of the name until after I saw it. Report

Give it at least a 45 second listen! I've never really heard anything by Spirit, outside of I Got A Line On You. And of course Taurus (the song Led Zeppelin "lifted" for Stairway). Based on this album, I can tell that's my loss. I'll definitely have to look up more of their discography. Thanks! Report

January 5, 20188 yr Author comment_34668 Same, got 21 out of 30. I recognized most of them, but completely blanked on some of the artists. Report
