Moving out is a great song.

Billy Joel

I've always really liked Allentown, The Downeaster Alexa and of course Goodnight Saigon too.

Speaking of Goodnight Saigon, and going off on a tangent, another song about the horrors of war that I've always really liked is Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms:

The part that always gets me right in the feels is the second verse.

I won't copy the lyrics here, as I think to read them lessens the impact slightly.  It's best to feel it in the song.

That was a good song - thanks for sharing! Understated, but powerful. Sometimes I guess you don't need to be heavy on instrumentation to get your point across. They did it very well, and the movie was great too. :)

I've been listening to David Crowder*Band's Christmas album lately. I really like these 2.

This one's a roller coaster of a ride!

This one's my favorite on the album. I love how it starts really, really simple and then just builds.

...in case you haven't guessed, I'm a HUGE David Crowder*Band fan!

Merry Christmas guys!  :)

Very cool!  I like some death metal, specifically the music and the arrangements.  But have a hard time with the cookie monster vocals.

Amon Amarth are actually coming to my city in a few weeks. :)

I had considered going, just to see them.  But I don't really know any of their songs.  And as I said, it's not my thing usually.  I'm more into stoner and doom and some drone.

I was actually just telling Trev and Brit about Om, for example:

My son and I went to see them a few years back when they came through Milwaukee.  They are Awesome.  I'd say if you have a chance to go, then go.  If they're coming through the US again, I hope they pass through Wisconsin, cause I'll defiantly go again.

Genitorturers is a industrial metal fetish band.  Some of my more favorite songs really shouldn't be played in a public venue without child controls, but they're really good.  I have also thought the same thing about them in regards to Rob Zombie, which is another band I like listening to.  Another band I like is Arch Enemy.  I got to meet Angela Gossow, when I went to a concert at the Rave in Milwaukee with my son who was playing with his band in the next room over.  (I kinda sorta feel shitty about that, cause I went over and watched Arch Enemy instead of my son LOL.  He was Ok with it though, cause I got to meet her.  He had already met her and he was like, "She's pretty awesome huh?")
