As you can probably tell, I've gone on a bit of a naval aircraft binge over the past few weeks. I found another gem today. Here's the great Steve Hinton piloting an F4U-1 Corsair with in-flight commentary.

Steve Hinton Sr. once gave me a ride in his P-51 with Jim Maloney on our wing in an F6F-5. This happened during a break at the CWH during an airshow.

Knew George Stewart at CWH, terrific person and an amazing pilot. He could jump in just about any plane and just figure it out.

That F9F is on my model bench right now. I went past Addison airport a month or so ago and darn if they didn't this thing in the collection. I think there is another one nearby or this is the same one repainted.

Those wide open areas around the old Norton airbase, Lake Mathews, and Chino airport where he was flying in that video are fairly hemmed in now with houses and warehouses.

Found this while looking at YouTube today.

It goes through all four branches of the NVA.

Not only is the music funky, but some of the shots of equipment and personnel are really interesting.

I especially liked "a night out on the town in Cottbus" @21:14.  And the spinning protocol training @ 23:50.
