Firefly Posted September 12, 2021 Author Report Posted September 12, 2021 As you can probably tell, I've gone on a bit of a naval aircraft binge over the past few weeks. I found another gem today. Here's the great Steve Hinton piloting an F4U-1 Corsair with in-flight commentary. Erhardt, wheelsup_cavu, Snaggle and 1 other 4 Quote

Kameraden, Steve Hinton Sr. once gave me a ride in his P-51 with Jim Maloney on our wing in an F6F-5. This happened during a break at the CWH during an airshow. S! Erhardt 1 Quote

Ludwig Posted October 3, 2021 Report Posted October 3, 2021 That F9F is on my model bench right now. I went past Addison airport a month or so ago and darn if they didn't this thing in the collection. I think there is another one nearby or this is the same one repainted. Firefly and Erhardt 2 Quote
Firefly Posted October 14, 2021 Author Report Posted October 14, 2021 This is SO cool! I love Cold War jets. https://www.facebook.com/hakan.andersson.735/videos/4334665119986350/ As a side note, why isn't the Facebook plugin working anymore? I used to be able to embed FB posts on this forum. Klaiber and Erhardt 2 Quote

Firefly Posted October 29, 2021 Author Report Posted October 29, 2021 Looks like I struck gold again. Here's a 2-hour interview with Lt. Col. Josef Miler who flew MiG-21s and 23s with the Czechoslovak and Czech Air Forces. Click "CC" for English subtitles. Britchot, Heinrich and Lipfert 3 Quote
Klaiber Posted October 17, 2022 Report Posted October 17, 2022 I have a feeling this must have been posted somewhere on the JG1 forums before. But just in case it hasn't: Snaggle and Lipfert 2 Quote
wheelsup_cavu Posted May 14, 2023 Report Posted May 14, 2023 I knew that was Planes of Fame's Zero even before I saw the tail number. Besides this gem the uploader has some other pretty interesting videos. https://www.youtube.com/@-juno-takaleon3830 ------------------------------------------- Those wide open areas around the old Norton airbase, Lake Mathews, and Chino airport where he was flying in that video are fairly hemmed in now with houses and warehouses. https://goo.gl/maps/7Eu2wUhcU5FBXhqK7 ------------------------------------------- Wheels Klaiber 1 Quote
Klaiber Posted February 12, 2024 Report Posted February 12, 2024 Found this while looking at YouTube today. It goes through all four branches of the NVA. Not only is the music funky, but some of the shots of equipment and personnel are really interesting. I especially liked "a night out on the town in Cottbus" @21:14. And the spinning protocol training @ 23:50. Britchot 1 Quote
