I think we will actually try using Discord for individual flights and Teamspeak for guard channel. JG1 does have an SRS server too, but some users have had difficulties with the program for il-2. So, pilots will need separate push to talk buttons mapped for Teamspeak and Discord. Quote

Point is: TS and Discord are/were both always the standard-comm-tools that we never used separately. I have both of them on the same PTT-Button and to be honest, I am reluctant to change that approach, simply because 1st I am affraid that it will need to much of my brain capacity to learn something new here after years I flex with exactly that system. For SRS I mapped a different button from the very beginning and used to it... And 2nd: If you ask me => SRS is the perfect tool for cross-coms, simply because of the integration with the flight sims and the 2-readio-feature as well as the feature of very easy channel switching out of the game... Anyhow, that's not the thread to discuss this, I think somewhere in the forum some months ago a thread on that topic was already started; will try to find it and post my thoughts there... In the meantime today, since we do need some sort of cross-comms and since we’ve had several pilots (myself included) who have had issues getting SRS to work, we’ll use Discord for primary and Teamspeak as guard. Etzel, if you mute yourself in Teamspeak, you should be able to use the same PTT button. Hopefully this will work for today. Etzel 1 Quote

J5_Hotlead Posted August 7, 2022 Report Posted August 7, 2022 Hey guys! Today is a little weird. Didn’t know if I could be free until now and I don’t know how long I can stay. So, we’ll take a break from what we normally do. Hawkeye (formerly JG1_Luftritter) has been wanting to fly N.28s with me on Flugpark for a while, so I think today is the day to try it. I’ve always had a soft spot for that plane, and if we ever use it in FiF, it would be good practice to try it here. If any JG1 pilots want to join me on fighter sweeps in this *wonderful* machine, they’re more than welcome! I’ll be in Flugpark discord today, at 2pm Central US time (1 hour after normal FiF start time). I should be back to regular operations next Sunday. Quote
