  1. So I'm watching Mark Felton's recent video on Balloon Busters, and I hear this story I'd never heard before of a Belgian named Willy Coppens landing his Hanriot on a balloon and waiting until it slid off to restart the engine and fly away. I pull up the Wikipedia page and it claims he did this intentionally only after he did it before accidentally. Whether or not those things ever happened, he destroyed a remarkable 34 balloons, lost a leg, participated in the resistance in WWII, and lived to be 94. I have a sudden urge to see what happens if I try to land a Hanriot on a balloon in ROF. I mean, has anybody? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willy_Coppens

    We can dream

Well, I have to say that at least my older one (4.5 Y) is very typical girl-stuff orientated, everything is about princesses and their princes... and in doubt put pink glitter on everything On the other side she still enjoyed the flights with me, and she esp. likes when we I do some dives with her (to be clear: some very gentle ones). And I also let her try flying a little bid on the PC from time to time, e.g. some round with an Albatros in RoF (without any shooting of course, just take off, fly over a village and land again!!) so I think (or I hope) the interest for all the typical girl stuff shall not stand in opposition to feed the interest in aviation... I have the feeling that the little one seems to be in general more interested in technical stuff, but in reality she's much too young to say anything about this for now.... So finally: Yes, I also have to admit that it seems as there is really something like a gender-specific preference for gender-typical stuff inherited in many kids but esp. in our times that shall not prevent us from letting them know and show very clearly that there are all options open for all of them...
