  1. Found this channel by accident. Its a channel with compilation CD's uploaded. Greatist hits of the 60's or Blues, Country Rockabilly. Japanese psychadelic from the 60's. I got lost in this channel for awhile. The CD's remind me of those Columbia House clubs you could join. Also While scanning the CD's I couldn't help but think of K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70's. Good Version of "I know You Rider" and other 60's songs Canned Heat, Muddy Waters, B.B. King Etc on this second one. And this one Surf Beat Behind the Iron Curtain
  2. If that is the dawn mission it was the worst offender. After that it happened one or two more times.
  3. I just finished it. I will not spoil anything but I will say I enjoyed learning the A8 better. I ran into no bugs however the AI will do some dumb things like pile into each other on the taxi way. Which will force you to restart. I took off once then heard 3 ejecting looked back to see a fire ball on the field. Circled back to see 3 190's at an intersection not moving. My guess the one on the main taxi way was Falke 1-4 and the two stopped on either side were Ford 1-1 and Ford 1-2. Either way when stuff like that happens you might as well restart the mission will not advance. I did die once, collided with a Mustang in a flat scissors.
  4. I did too. I restarted and still no joy. So I did some investigating with controls while in flight. At some point the radio menu \ no longer works however the key for push to talk call radio radio menu does which is Right_Alt+\. I was able to do all the in game radio triggers after that.
  5. I have been eyeing a few campaigns including this one. I haven't pulled the trigger because it says on the DCS store page that the DCS stable version is required for this game. It would also seem that all the old campaigns on the site state that the stable version is required and newer campaigns open beta. Are you running the stable or open beta version of DCS for this campaign?
  6. I knew it! The government is using birds to spy on us.
  7. The mystery of who the man on the Led Zepplin 4 album is solved. I figure since its music I would post it here. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-wiltshire-67336495
  8. If you own the P-51 I found an instant mission that is a good stress test for settings. I believe it was called "Low Level Hell." I found it in the Normandy and Caucasus maps. It is a low level bomber escort mission at dawn with a low overcast. I have a 4090 paired with the 7800X3d. If you run the game in multi threading the in game FPS counter will tell you where your bottle neck is, CPU or GPU. It will not tell you your bottleneck if you launch the game in single core. For me, I'm always CPU bound no matter what map or mission. I'm assuming this mission adds stress to the CPU due to the AI bombers and triggers in the mission. This mission gave me terrible stutters I ended up going from medium to low shadows and changing my max FPS. Another set of missions is the Normandy furball missions. If you own a WW2 module and the Normandy map you have access to a couple. If you own multiple WW2 modules try them all. I found that some of furball missions have different weather which will give you different lighting and shadows effects. Another thing is FPS throttling. With the Valve Index and Steam VR I am able to adjust the max FPS for my headset. I would like to run it at 144 but I can't. I get micro stutters. I also get them at 120FPS. But I don't at 80FPS. 90FPS is still debatable. When I ran the "Low Level Hell" mission I ended up changing the FPS to 80 and changed the shadows. I rarely change 2 things at once so I may try it again at 90. Capping your FPS at a reasonable level does smooth things out. For me I can alt-tab out and change the FPS limit in Steam VR among other settings. So that's a good quality of life aspect in trouble shooting. Restarts are a pain.
  9. I recall having the Red Baron issue. I remember I would read Computer Gaming World in the search of the next game I was going to blow my allowance on.
  10. Well I was curios when JDAM's would be released for the F-15E. This was on the DCS forum. Now "JDAM Blues" is amusing but everyone has experienced "2's Blind"
  11. Meh, I wouldn't even notice. I'm still at that "what does this button do" stage of the module.
  12. Ran across this channel with some good content.
  13. If you are a fan of Conan, Kevin Nealon Dana Carvey or Hans and Franz, Its worth the watch. They discuss how Hans and Franz came about then read from the script they wrote for a Hans and Franz movie.
  14. I read Bernard Cornwell's "Agincourt" which I thought was good. At some point I would like to read his Sharpe series when I find some time.
  15. I was not aware of it. Must be a sign.
  16. Picked this one up yesterday. It is 190 pages and filled with pictures. So many that a person could finishing the book in one sitting. So if you are looking for an in-depth book about MvR I would skip it. I grabbed it for the pictures. Something I can pick up from time to time and day dream of WWI aviation.
  17. Great job.

    New PC

I was looking heavy into the 7800x3d even though the new AM5 platform is having a few hicups. The review embargo was released yesterday and I liked what I heard. It was released today and by the time I got home it was out of stock. So at least now I can sit back and see how DCS and IL2 run with it in the long term. Also if I wait for the next batch of 7800x3d's some of the growing pains of AM5 should be iron out. If not, its Intel for me. If you are referring to Superflower I hadn't either until I researched PSU's. When I was researching PSU's I ran across a Gamer Nexus video about 80+ not telling the whole story. Him and the guy started talking about how they use Cybernetic Labs testing results over 80+Gold. So I looked into Cybernetic Labs and their testing. Superflower gets high praise from what I have been seeing along with Seasonic, Silverstone, NZXT, BeQuiet, Corsair, just to name a few. Here is the home page if you want to look at PSU's https://www.cybenetics.com/
  19. Ran across this. I didn't learn anything new, but I laughed my but off and the animations are well done. So enjoy.
  20. Forgot about that one. I'm just glad the early war aircraft are on the way.
  21. So about 1.5 years until I can fly an E.III in VR. The closest thing to a bubble canopy in WWI.
  22. I'm getting that 7 year itch so I have been watching PC building videos. I would say by fall I will build one.
  23. That's funny, I learned about Frank Luke Jr about a week ago.
