Looking at ticket prices on flights to Latvia right now.

Happy holidays everyone!

Ah, I can't wait for the 6 .50s

The merger is more that 1C now regained ownership of CloD and they're collaborating with Team Fusion to improve the product. I'm sure it's motivated by greed, since they see the potential revenue gain from the work that TF has done and is doing. In the end, if everyone benefits from it, I'll open my wallet and show my support. The Team Fusion guys deserve a lot of credit for the work they have done for free so far with what limited resources they've had. With the source code and the financial backing of a commercial release I'd imagine that the future 5.0 update just got a WHOLE LOT better.

O.O. I think this is the best Christmas gift the flight sim community has recently received! Here's to the 5.0 update being even better than we'd anticipated! Also, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! I'll preorder that expansion right now if I could. Hopefully their involvement with CloD will help nudge the Bo"X" series in a direction that involves more realistic flight and damage dynamics.

Congrats guys! I think those nurses are taking a liking to me, though I'm not taking a liking to the reasons for our visits... -
Thanks, guys! Hopefully I'll be able to keep more of my wingmen alive next time.

That's awesome! I'm jealous!

Great thread. Looking foreward to making contributions as well!

It was important to stop the DFW, but we failed to do that. I'd have let him get the barge if it meant downing 3 more pilots from the other team. It took him 3 passes as it was. If we could have engaged the fighters together and at least separated them from the DFW if not destroyed them, it could have been possible to kill him before he got the barge. As it is, all we did was lose 2 planes and a pilot. If Mr. Tree had been a bit more accurate with his shots he could easily have sent me down with Maus without me ever seeing him. Even if we didn't shoot anyone down but both got home safe having Maus available to possibly fly a bomber could have allowed us to get that factory, and maybe more, which would have us only down by 1 point instead of two. Ultimately, my own streak means less to me if I allow others to die when I could have prevented it.
-
There are areas I can improve, too. I should have been far more suspect of the DFW and alert for escorts. I shouldn't have let Maus go after it with me out of position and I couldn't effectively check for escorts without making myself further out of position. We may have been able to down all 3 had I pulled him back and regrouped. Certainly would have had a better chance at getting us both home alive and in our crates. At any eate, we did pretty well and I'm proud of how we handled the first engagement as a pair.

Thanks Trupobaw! Salute to those guys for the engagement over the barge!

Calculating lead angles on passing birds and squirrels, too I'd bet. To a long lasting friendship and many good times to come!

An excellent fight between two very good pilots high over the German trenches! Enjoy! https://youtu.be/Ro1IsBDvWsM This fight happened some time ago and I happened across the recording last night and wondered why I hadn't yet shared it, so here it is! Finally got ShadowPlay to work again by reverting to an earlier version of GeForce Experience, so I hope to be able to continue the Hunt for the Red Eagle series with the next FIF mission. I'd also like to thank everyone for their support in making these videos.

That's cool! But I definitely still need an F/A-18

Congratulations to both. Hats off to Luftritter for a great streak. -
My word, what a show! Thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed everything in Fury except their depiction of tank battles. I'm sure this is not going to be Saving Private Ryan but I'll still give it a view.

Watch An F-16 Save The Life Of Its Unconscious Pilot

I'm assuming it has a hard deck setting and uses the inertial navigation system to calculate trajectory of the A/C and recover from unsafe conditions. At least, that's how I would do it. All you would need is a program that knows a certain altitude (hard deck), the altitude, airspeed, and pitch angle of the a/c (the latter 3 being on the HUD already) to calculate when it is in a dangerous attitude. You can see the two ">" "<" converge as he descends into an "x" (at 9,000ft) and it is at that point that the GCAS takes over.
