  1. No, infantry columns are not coded into DCG. Are these in some recent update or are they included through modding?
  2. Skimming the old thread at Missions4Today, it seems fairly up to date. The file format hasn't changed very much in thirteen years. The ship name file might be newer, but it's fairly obvious how to use it.
  3. I'm unsure what will happen if you specify "default" in allpayloads.dcg file. Without testing, I assume it will work as expected. Adding "none" to the file should also be fine, but the game assumes for drop tank and anti-shipping that no entry is none.
  4. I haven't a lot of experience using IL2 from Steam - my copy is so old, I have a CD.... I do know that if your Steam game is corrupt, you can always try verifying the integrity of the files. Do this by clicking on the game in Steam and selection Properties and then Files...
  5. The 6th ordinance column can only be changed through the GUI (Aircraft panel) as 99% of them are "default". As it's used only for fighter patrols/sweeps and transfers, I never bothered to create a timetable command for it.
  6. If you have any specific questions regarding these commands, just post them below.
  7. Hi, the link above is working for me (but only when logged into my account).
  8. The attachment is here (it had been bumped to a previous page). https://forum.jg1.org/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=4155&key=0ff7ad4e35144a702d84404b79efc103
  9. Promotions are based on a combination of kills, ground targets destroyed and the number of missions flown. I don't have the formula handy (requires rooting through the code on another computer). I don't recall there being any weighting for kills for fighter pilots or bombs for bomber pilots....
  10. It took a long time for me to feel that one!
  11. Yes, 15 is the latest. As you may have guessed, I'm not currently working on it. I won't say I've stopped, because I'll still do bug fixes should they come up. But I'm not adding new content.
  12. Got it, thanks.
  13. Lovely.
  14. I doubt the Java update will have an impact. As for Vichy, that would require some changes to the DCG code as well as some data files....
  15. So I finally remembered to check the nose art and there appears to be no limit on the number of files the noseart folder can hold and be included by DCG. That said, I've never tested it with more than 50.
  16. You need to look back at the previous page. Too many people have posted since I last uploaded it. (Or just click the little arrow below and to the right.)
  17. Happy New Year to you and everyone still using DCG! I'll have to check the code to see the limit and, yes, I can increase it. No prob...he says wondering if there'll be any ramifications....
  18. Okay, it took me a few minutes but now I remember how SetPaint works. In the timetable file, in front of the name of the file, you have to specify whether the new skin has markings on it or whether you want the game to apply the markings by inserting a "1" or "0" before the name of the file. So the command should look something like this: 19400127 SetPaint 4IAP0 = 0I-15Bis_Lt_Abramov_Blank.bmp
  19. Let's make it 1,001!
  20. Yes, the order makes a difference here. The unit must be added before any other changes are made to it. I'm not sure why it's ignoring the paint command and I'll have to do some debugging to find out.
  21. Without debugging, I suspect it's the space in the name of the skin. Try renaming the skin's bmp and the setpaint command so the space between Lt and Abramov is an underscore. I-15Bis_Lt Abramov_Blank.bmp
  22. Hi Torpede_Aeri, It looks like the process you are using is for an older version of IL-2. Try: Full Off-Line Career Mode. Using this mode replaces the in-game generator (DGen) with DCG. Careers can then be created directly from the game set up screens and DCG never needs to be run except to edit the campaign files. 1. Run DCG. 2. Select the off-line Career Auto-Generation mode from the DCG Menu. 3. Select "Replace Career Generator (DGen)" from the DCG Menu "Mode" and click "Yes". Close DCG. 4. Run IL-2 "Forgotten Battles". 5. Select any of the stock or DCG campaigns available in IL2 "Forgotten Battles" or any campaign in "Pacific Fighters" that is designated "*" and "(DCG)". DCG will generate and run a campaign based on your selection criteria. 6. Play the campaign. Note: a copy of DGen.exe will be made called DGEN_bak.exe. It is strongly recommended that your restore your DGen.exe file before installing any upgrades of IL2 "Forgotten Battles". You can do this by clicking "Replace DGen" when it's checked or delete the file DGen.exe and rename DGen_bak.exe to DGen.exe.
