FiF - Flying Circus planeset round?
Kliegmann replied to J2_Trupobaw's topic in FIF General Discussion
In BoX the DM is based on a component system. What that means for ROF I'm not exactly sure. I am also not sure how detailed that component system is. ie: When rounds hit the engine, does it damage the cooling system, or individual parts of the system. I do know that the wing has multiple components, ie: the Wing-Root, structural ribs and spars, ect. A good way to knock down an IL 2 is to fly under it and put rounds into its coolers under the fuselage. In contrast the current ROF DM is a box system - do enough damage to THIS box and the engine oils and quits working, do enough damage to THAT box and the wing comes off. -
FiF - Flying Circus planeset round?

Heres my take on it. The new engine is NEW. Very different from what they originally started with. If they tried to port over the planes as is, they wont fly. So yes there is gonna have to be changes and tweaks -
Im actually sure that they will, simply because one of their selling points is the fact that if you want you will be able to fly a SPAD against a Bf-109 cause the 2 sims will use the same engine

FiF - Flying Circus planeset round?

Well the Camels are really only for the trench attack mission, so there's only 2 -
Yes, only you dont have to wait for a patch from the devs

In box you can create your own skins then place them into your game folder. Everyone who wants to see the skins though has to have a copy on their computer, and the skins are controlled on the server side of the game. We all have skins for most of the aircraft in Oesau already.

Funny you bring that up at this time, cause I'm actually in the final stages of a BoX tourney that will be hosted by JG 1. I'm still going to do 1 or 2 in-house tests, then I'll be opening it up for a Server/Game stress test. -
Hmmm, dont want the shark nor the P-51, already got the other 2

In regards to settings, the best way to set them is to set them for yourself. Set it up, turn on the game, then sit in the cockpit and make the changes that are comfortable for you. Either save a default or write down the settings, so you have a base to return to then just mess around with them. The first time I set mine up, I took a couple of hours, and played around with it until I had some setting that worked for me. Then later, after I had grown accustomed to it, I revisited the settings and tweaked them a little more.

Sorry I didn't make it last night, unfortunately I had other obligations that I had to square away

Cool. My wife did agree to let me buy the Mig-15
-
I might be able to talk my wife into one of them. I would lean towards the 15, but I heard in a video that you cant play on maps you dont own, even in MP, so unless it was done over the default map, it still wouldn't work cause you're using the Normandy map.

not necessarily "track IR", but almost all of us use a head tracker of some sort
