That actually sounds pretty cool -

Congrats all. -
Just putting this out there. A couple days ago, I was unpacking a box and found my old Dawn patrol table top wargame. I remember reading somewhere about possibly putting a pilot's page up showing the metals and commendations that each pilot has been awarded. Back in the day (20 years ago) when my wife and I was playing Dawn Patrol and Knights of the Sky, she had drawn up busts of WWI uniforms from neck to waist and any metals awarded would be glued onto the busts in the proper locations. Dont know how labor intensive something like that would be to code into a webpage, but that might be really cool.

Congrats on your win. Looking forward to seeing you all in the next one

I'll bet that plane would be awesome to do incipient spins in. A couple years ago I had an opportunity to take a ride in one, but life interfered. Out here, the pilot that owns the PT-17 also has a 2-seat P-51, I would LOVE to get a ride in that thing, a Grumman Goose, and he recently bought an MU-2.

There is a solve to the AI issue with the capture the plane mission. Instead of making it an AI controlled aircraft, make it a player controlled aircraft. Create 1 and only 1 X-aircraft and assign a real pilot to fly it. The flight must be flown within certain boundaries indicated on the map and/or at a block altitude (preventing the pilot from climbing up to 6k m to never be seen). If after a certain period of time, the pilot is able to land at a specified (secret) airbase then their team scores a point, or if not, then the enemy receives a message indicating where the prototype aircraft can be found -
I can fly on Sat

Gen had a disco on Sat as well

I fly with almost all seitek controls. One thing I noticed when you unpack it, you need to immediately update the drivers and control software. My second throttle quad wouldn't work until I did this. I'll be watching this thread, cause the additional gauges and panels are on my wish list. One of the reasons youre not getting any response from them is because they are in the transition period because Logitech bought them out.

As anyone used the trim on any of the ROF aircraft that have trim? If so, how does it effect combat effectiveness of the aircraft, (ie: Do you neutralize the trim before entering into the fight. In RW, I have been told that aerobatic pilots DO NOT trim their aircraft for level flight, because it effects the recovery of some of the maneuvers they utilize.) The reason I ask this is the Tripe is suppose to be one of the aircraft with a functioning trim, so I am hesitant to use it for fear that it may make the aircraft uncontrollable in combat maneuvers.

Dont know if this would pull too many pilots away, but like Luft was saying, instead of a scout escort, make the mission a 2 or 3 plane bomber box, and increase the number of targets that need to be hit, the carpet bombing strategy. (Success and points could be awarded by a % of buildings, ect destroyed.) I know this type of bombing strategy wasn't actually employed until more towards the end of the war, but it might be an interesting mission for phase B or C. Another thing that could be interesting is adding to the mission, a post bombing damage assessment recon flight. (Maybe bonus points for completion. It'll be a high risk mission)

One question though, will the aircraft be armed?
-
Sounds like fun

Yup, that was me. I watched your fight with the pup, then when I saw you break off and start heading back to friendly territory, I didn't know at first if you were trying to bait him, or if you were hurt. I didn't see anyone else diving in, so I did.

General will like to have this
