S! I had posted pictures and links. With the new FC New Skins Submission Thread, those were a redundancy, therefor all have been removed. Below you'll find the discussion and my ideas for the skins.

In Cambodia the Afghan vets were close to dangerous to fly with (they seldom drank water) . In those days we as Dutch new nothing about helo handling. Nobody told me about static electricity of a sling load. With the Mi-26 we used to fly to a 20 ft container where we already had put the hooks on top of it, then the pilot would hover next/above the container, one of us would walk out the helo using the front door attach the hook to the container and walked back in. After that take off. At first I was considered cargo by the crews but after flying almost daily with them for as long it was light we became 'friends' and I was given helmet with coms and would sit between the pilots on the mecano seat. Big shock to come back in the Netherlands and treated as an ordinary mover again. Made me a volunteer for any mission.

@Firefly @Pfeil thanks for the quick response and information. @Firefly that's a very nice offer. For now I will step in DCS, but getting airborne will take some time. Right now I'm recovering from a disectomy in the lower back. Of course I want to go faster but the doctor has a different opinion. I 'll start with reading and cockpit control bindings.

Questionnaires: I would like to start with DCS, but where do I start? What must, should, could I buy to join you in the game? Jet, prop, vintage, modern? Can one of you veterans advice me on this? In what role can I be of use? No surprise I favour ground attack and support aircraft. But who knows, maybe I inherited some of 'uncle' Albins DNA.

I flew many missions with mi-8 and mi-26 in Cambodia [UNTAC '92-'93]. I used a mi-8 for sling ops where we couldn't come with a 26 because of the space or down blast. Not funny to work with a community if you blew their rice stock in the air. Officially we were allowed to put 17 pax on board, but it happened that the pilot after closing of the manifest took more with him. I witnessed 32 in total. Some were sitting on the rear loading doors [they never saw the tiny hinge which held the doors together.] We flew with Russian and Ukrainian crews. The mi-26 crews were more civilized .

Today got the message from Virpil that I'm in for the presale. Hoping to get them as fast as yours would be early September. I figure that by than I'm much fitter. Right now I revalidate at the house of my girlfriend, because I can't take care of myself. Since my game chair has wheels the fun part of the MFG was that I used wheel chockes, rubber friction pads and at last tight the chair to the wall to prevent pushing myself backwards. Even with the lowest spring tension. When I'm Back home I will try out your settings. [Bought a new chair with wheel brakes for use at home, the old one is here with me as it was the only chair I could sit in without pain]

To my shame I only discoverd some days ago that I can have a mobile version with even a link on my start page. Super. Now I can keep up with the JG1 even when I have a mandatory rest. Main reason for buying the Virpil rudders is that with the Crosswinds I always skidded off the pedals and applying brakes was also not natural (it must be my ankles). I hope with the Virpil's wagging the tail becomes more easy.

Yesterday just before closing I ordered the CM2 stick (thx Luftritter), the new throttle and rudder pedals. I use now the 'old stick and throttle' and the MFG Crosswind, so I'm very curious how they will handle. Remembering the button lay out will be the biggest challenge The 90 days delivery time is perfect in my case. Besides that I can't sit for to long in my chair, twisting and kicking is not funny either. @Luftritter, I fully agree it's not the soldier, it's the Nazi Party that I detest and that is symbolized by the swastika. If I couldn't live with flying in a representing German unit I would be flying with you guys (and miss all the fun and camaraderie). Cruel acts and war crimes were committed by all nations during WWII, perhaps in every war, crimes are committed, mostly in the heat of battle and by individuals. In the case with the nazi's what counts for me is the systematic way of it. Bottom line is I want to fly without the swastika. I hope you all can live with that.

I have this already sometime in my head and the subject of today [March 27, 1944] makes me decide that no aircraft nor a vehicle will be carrying a swastika. Not even the silhouette versions of it. Yes, I fly like a German, but I have to think about something appropriate to replace it. I hope you can forgive me this. In line with that was my question if we would fly for the Emperor (being a bad guys unit)

Congratulations everybody. NB the nice part of these rewarding posts is that I come to see all the 'full' in-game names of everybody. Some are brilliant and definitely interesting where they came from.

Somewhere in the near future there will be a BoP. At which side are we in that scenario? Within Allies or Japs which unit will we be? Can we vote? I would love to fly a Val or Gekko but maybe even more a SBD, TBF or TBM.

Although we are just sim pilots I have compassion with especially the pilots reading their stories, no matter if he's flying a B-17, Mosquito or Bf-109. By reading it every day you see the war developing. For instance I never saw the relation between the events leading to D-Day, I get the impression (which will never be confirmed) that the 24/7 bombing had an extra purposes: to provoke German leadership in reviving the bombing campaign on Britain and exhausting the fighter pilots capacity in their numbers and experience. Thus causing heavy losses which couldn't be sustained, while the Allies could, and thereby reducing the threat of them for the coming invasion. Even the slow progress made in Italy seems more a binding of forces than a will to defeat them.
