I started working on the Fw190A8 skin because it seemed to me the best A/C to start my BoX career. That led to creating both the checkered black/yellow nose, and the black/white striped nose. Also the dots in the A8 skin had to be created. That skin is now complete and I’ll show it soon. Proceeding with the A5 and A3 is a logical step. To my horror I saw that in the official Il2 skin of the Fw190A5 is a fully worked out skin for the I./JG1 Würgers both in stripes and checkers also dots for the sides in 2 versions are already there . I’ve waisted a lot of time on the A8 . The A8 will be in the Reichsband version with B/W stripes, the A5 in B/Y checkered nose and the A3 in yellow (?) nose. Suggestions? NB: To my knowledge the 2./JG1 had their red and black altered to the 1. and 3. Until now I haven’t found proof in photos.

No idea if this is of any help: I have my Buttkicker Gamer 2 connected to a Sennheiser GSX 1000 amplifier with a splitter to my headset. The GSX 1000 has a USB connector to the desktop. The 5.1 speaker set is connected to a Creative Sound Blaster Z sound card. Side note: I’m thinking on building a external fan to my Buttkicker amplifier because it gets real hot inside and has only some small cooling ribs. Burning the inside will cause to have the whole set replaced.

In the GB New Skins Submission thread I’ve posted 2 skins for my Fw190A8. The skins are intended for a mid and late period fighter I have more angles available but not sure if this stands the critics (waist of energy and space). The Sturmbock armour plates are painted on the skin, after putting it in the game I found out that the sheet has also separate armour plates. For my next A/C, I’ll go first into the game to have a look what the impact is of the different modifications on the skin. Questions for my skins Not sure about the brightness of the colours and dullness. I did some extra weathering on the hinges and hatches. Wondering if I should do a weathering of the wing/tail edges as well? More general questions Do we want skins for the same aircraft in early, mid and late schemes? I put the JG1 symbol on the tail, for me a good replacement of the haken cross, and makes me easily identified as a JG1 A/C. Can this become a standard? Which angles are necessary: Left-Right-Front Right Low-Aft Left High? Conditions of the pictures: Clouds, Clear sky, Altitude, Back-ground? NB thinking about weathering I cant wait until we have Ki-84 and N1K2 A/C

It works! I have both the throttles installed and have now 6 devices in total recognized by Windows. Tested in RoF and Il-2. Isn't that great, or should I say so far so good? Best of all is the rudder, definitely an improvement over the MFG Crosswind. It's heavy and sticks to the ground as glue. No need anymore for extensions to keep it from sliding to the wall and at the same time the pedals move smooth enough that I don't need to apply brakes of the chair.

Yes you are correct, I was talking about the VPC software suit. On the Windows side of it I have connected stick, throttle, rudder and 2 MFDs. If in trouble I can take one of the MFDs out because with 2 throttles I don't loose to much on buttons etc.

Tomorrow the VPC T50CM2 grip, T50CM throttle and ACE-1 rudder pedals will arrive which I ordered on the 5th July. I’m especially curious about the pedals. Of course I hope that they are for me an improvement over the MFG Crosswind. I will write a review after some testing. Maybe also an unboxing review? Written of course . I’m thinking about using the old T50 throttle next to the new one, in order to have more buttons and of course the extra throttle axel in case of 2+ engines. No idea if the software can manage that. Has anybody tried this already?

It's a pretty new HOTAS made buy a Chinese company who usually make flight sim trainers for real life flying. I got this unboxing review today in my inbox, and thought to share it with you, because I couldn't find an existing thread for it. I flew over my house in a Ju88. The people of 1C Game Studios did an amazing job with mapping the actual rivers, canals, streams and rail lines of the Netherlands. They did it so detailed, that I could identify the stream some 670 m south of where I live. To show more actual details we have some kms to the W, what we call, a zwaaikom (where barges can turn around).

Last Tuesday, Virpil has started a vote competition for control panels (jet, spaceship, piston engine aircraft and helicopter). Nice entries, although I had hopes that in the Piston category their would be panels for 2-4 engines. Why 5 or 10 buttons/switches on a panel? Ahhh now I understand just have to buy either 4 or 2 panels. Very smart. I'm not (yet) familiar with jet or helicopter controls, no real idea what I should vote. Suggestions? If the morphine pill doesn't play tricks I'm present. Maybe I could fly with J6 in a N17 (must start somewhere). But when needed elsewhere I'm fine with that, but please not a Spy mission with the Strutt, an "Elbe" pilot had a greater chance on return.

I withdraw the Recon skins. It make no sense to use them. I’m still easily visible for everybody with our skin pack, and the ones without see the default brown skin. On top of that its extra work for @Vonrd, and unnecessary disk capacity for everybody. Nice experiment , sorry to have bothered you with it.

In real life yes, in game it makes no difference. I'm still a dark spot in the sky even at 3k. In CQB???

During the last mission in Black September I noticed, from 2,4 kms above, a fight close to the ground below me between a light colored Spad and a ghost because I couldn't (my eyes?) see the other plane. Only its tracers. It turned out to be Etzel with his black DrI. Made me thinking of been seen from below in my dark striped Halb. Because the life of a Recon pilot is often boring and helpless I altered my Halb CLII skin a bit. I would like to use this skin as an alternative, depending on the mission.

Here were skins I thought I could use as an alternative. Test showed otherwise. Next time I will test before I post.
