I visit this site every day: http://ww2today.com/

For me always interesting, sometimes with subjects I never heard of, some horrible and often sad stories of men and women trying to do their task or even beyond that.
Although we are just sim pilots I have compassion with especially the pilots reading their stories, no matter if he's flying a B-17, Mosquito or Bf-109.
By reading it every day you see the war developing.
For instance I never saw the relation between the events leading to D-Day, I get the impression (which will never be confirmed) that the 24/7 bombing had an extra purposes: to provoke German leadership in reviving the bombing campaign on Britain and exhausting the fighter pilots capacity in their numbers and experience.
Thus causing heavy losses which couldn't be sustained, while the Allies could, and thereby reducing the threat of them for the coming invasion.
Even the slow progress made in Italy seems more a binding of forces than a will to defeat them.

Fully agree. I think color in itself is a difficult subject, very difficult. Talk with my girlfriend.
I painted the walls in my house in a blue tint, my girlfriend talks about the green walls, I still see them as blue, and that's just one item

Colors depend on the light which strikes it. Morning, noon, evening sunlight give the same surface a different reflection. Noon in the tropics gives a different effect than at the Polar Circle.
I use most of the time Vallejo colors, but you're not going to find my body in a ditch over the argument that their Black Green is the correct RLM 70.
In the past when using photo film I liked Agfa, because to me Fuji was to green, Kodak to blue. But that was how I saw it.

I use the template above as an start point, but comparing it to the rare color pictures makes me sometimes alter it just a little. Am I wrong? Is the picture correctly colored? When was it taken?
With all you're modeling experience, I think I will like each skin or model you produce.

Heinrich reacted to Klaiber in Refly Reminder
    All,

Upon reviewing the FIF stats from Session A1 and Session A2 of the FIF2019 Winter Campaign, it's come to my attention that a number of pilots from both the Blue Team and Red Team are not waiting the full 5-minutes before hitting refly.

This is a violation of our tournament rules, as that 5-minute wait is supposed to simulate refueling and rearming of aircraft.  Additionally, the 5-minute wait is designed to make the aerial engagements more realistic by preventing air quake scenarios (where pilots instantly take off to aid their team mates who are dogfighting nearby).

All pilots must wait a full 5-minutes before hitting refly!

Here is the exact wording, taken from the Refly Rules (Friendly Territory and No Man's Land) section.

    http://forum.jg1.org/topic/2216-flanders-in-flames-ruleset/?p=17545&do=findComment&comment=17545

Commanders, please take note of this rule and remind your pilots to wait 5-minutes before reflying.

If I continue to notice violations moving forward, I'll start sending out written warnings to specific pilots.

    Thanks!

May drifting away from the OP, but how many of us have the Tank Crew.
I saw that we now also have a JG1 race branch, why not a JG1 Tank Regiment or Battalion?
    Or have I missed that?

Anyhow, Carl and I can bring up our tanks for the unit.
