Also, I should also clarify - If someone is caught using a cheat on any established server within ROF (be NW, J5, FIF, Cuban, etc.) they get a period ban across all of those servers simultaneously. 1 month for all other servers. 8 to 16 weeks for FIF, depending on where we are in the campaign. This was something that wasn't clear if my initial post, as highlighted in my conversation with BSR. If someone is caught a second time, they're permanently banned from all established servers, and outed. And for FIF, their squadron (if they're in one) will also held accountable for their actions, so long as they're a member of that group.

S! All, I'd like to direct everyone's attention to J5_Baeumer's post regarding the recent cheating incidents that have happened in Rise of Flight: https://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/51553-community-policy-cheating/ The Flanders In Flames tournament (and the JG1 squadron) were involved in these discussions, and fully backs and supports this community policy. However, FIF will not just be issuing a 1 month ban for the first offense. Rather, anyone caught using a cheat on the FIF server will immediately receive a full "campaign ban". This means that the pilot will be banned from FIF for both Phase A and Phase B of whatever campaign is currently ongoing (approximately 8+ weeks). If the pilot is discovered to have cheated mid-way through a campaign, they'll be banned for the rest of the current campaign, plus all of the next campaign as well (an additional 8+ weeks). A second offense is a permanent ban for that pilot, as well as a permanent ban for that pilot's squadron, so long as that pilot is still a member of that squadron.

6 pilots flew with illegally modded weapons on Saturday's mission (FIF 2018 "Winter Campaign" - Session B3 - Saturday, 3 March 2018). Our tournament rules regarding modded aircraft are clearly posted: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/5457-fif-2018-winter-campaign-plane-modifications/ I will be contacting each of these pilots directly, and giving them one warning. If this happens again, I'm going to start treating this a full rules violation of the tournament, and start banning people for a mission-night. From there, the penalties will get more severe. Please check your load-outs before you take off!

Forgot to tell you how great that was.

Hi PikeStance, Jasta 2 is currently on the Blue Team. So, I'll sign you up for their side. The Blue Team uses Jasta 5's TeamSpeak information, which can be found within the private Blue Team area of the FIF boards. You should now have access to that area. If you have any problems coordinating with the Blue Team, send a PM to J5_Gamecock. Missions are run on Saturdays at 2PM EST / 7PM UTC. The server is passworded. The server password is handed out before the missions through TeamSpeak. It's often recommended that people join about 15 or 20 minutes before mission start. Also, both teams switch sides periodically throughout the event. So you'll have the chance to fly for both the Central side and the Entente side. Should you have any questions, just let me know!

Hi RR, You're already signed up for the Red Team, with the rest of JG1. Just jump on TS, everyone should be there.

Hi Jonne, Welcome! It's great to have another Central European pilot interested in joining us in DCS! Fresco sent us an application yesterday. As I've mentioned to Fresco, JG1 is an international squadron. So we have pilots from all over the world. We're definitely interested in becoming a stronger European unit. So, it would be great to talk to you about joining. You could definitely help us do this. I'll drop you an email tonight (to the address you registered on the forums with). Looking forward to talking to you soon!
-
Hi Fresco, With Jonne's application today, I'm honestly hoping that this is the start of a stronger central European group within JG-1. My thoughts are to assign both of you to your own schwarm within 2.JS (the European jagdstaffel of JG-1). And then try to set up Saturday DCS practice times, where both North American pilots and European pilots could meet and fly together. That should help jump start the process of a European expansion in a natural way, giving you guys an organization to belong to, without over stressing the group. I'll email you back and we can talk more about it.

Hi Fresco, Welcome! JG1 is an international squadron, so we have pilots from all over the world. Our largest European contingent (called Jasta 6 in Rise of Flight, and I./JG 1 and III./JG 1 in IL-2) is from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. They regularly fly during CET hours, especially on Thursdays. Some of them speak English, and a few speak German too. However, most of their practices are held in Czech and Slovakian. We do have other European pilots, attached to our North American group (Jastas 11, 10, and 4 in Rise of Flight and II./JG 1 within IL-2). They are from Austria, Norway, and Portugal. In order to accommodate their timezones, we've been trying to group English-speaking European pilots together. Most of our current DCS activities (JG-1 "Fritz Schmenkel") are happening in North American timezones. However, again, we do have European members who jump on when they can. We're definitely interested in becoming a stronger European unit. So, it would be great to talk to you about joining. You could definitely help us do this. However, it's important that I'm honest with you regarding everyone's timezones and the potential language barriers. Either way, I'll send you an email today (to the address you registered with). Looking forward to talking with you soon!
