Expect PvP sorties over Korea 1952!

It is true that you can't fly over maps you don't own. We would adjust the training to accommodate the best we can.

il2 Sturmovik VR Settings Mod & Configuration
Britchot replied to Lipfert's topic in Technical Support
Okay, I'm sold. I jumped onto Coconut's server and was able to see and identify several different aircraft. I managed to land solid hits on 3 different aircraft, getting full credit for one. http://coconutside.eu:81/en/sortie/26811/?tour=9 I'm using a custom 3.0 and the 2.0 zooms, but I may go back to 2.0 and 1.5. I seem to go cross eyed on 3.0 but to solve it I close one eye as I zoom in and then open it back up. I have noticed a few multiple images on aircraft at certain angles, but that could be my settings. I will not be going back to TrackIR for BoX. Probably not even for tournaments. -
il2 Sturmovik VR Settings Mod & Configuration
Britchot replied to Lipfert's topic in Technical Support
I installed it and put those settings in and I believe I have good results. I only tested a quick mission against a single aircraft. Removing the propeller is worth the trouble, alone. The only poor thing is that I need to start a new mapping of my controller with the new inputs -
Welcome to the forums, Jonne. As the author of that checklist, I'm glad it has piqued your interest in the squadron. Our CO will be along shortly with the official welcome package!
-
Whoa, my checklist garnered recruit interest! Wilkommen, Herr Fresco!
-
I had intermittent rudder response the other night and my first thought was, "Maybe it's time to get myself some Crosswinds." LOL Seriously, though, I'm hoping it was the same interference that knocked my throttle out for a few minutes.
-
Welcome to the forums, Smolders. Our CO will be along shortly with the official responses but I'll answer your question in the mean time. Yes, we definitely have room for rookies

I found if I downloaded more than two at a time I would get a corrupted download. As far as access denied, I did not have such an issue.
-
I'm going to do my best to keep this first post updated until we can get a proper download page. Remember that you have to download the file, unzip and put them at "C:\Program Files\1C Game Studios\IL-2\data\graphics\skins\[AIRCRAFT VERSION]", all of them. File path may be a bit different on your own computer but ...data\graphics\skins is where you need to go. Yeah, I had thought they were for the TM base at first, too.
-
I’m jealous of the KG-12 stick. If someone made one that can plug into a TM Warthog base, I would probably buy one

I'm not understanding what you mean by "any of the server hosts" We don't have a dedicated server running DCS missions, no. We do have a well designed JG-1 specific mission, built by Klaiber over the last few years, though. I'm sure making adjustments to the time of day and weather could set up a reasonable rotation for a dedicated server. Generally, one of us hosts it for the 2-4 others that join us for practice.

Rudder pedals dead; Hotlead out of action for now
Britchot replied to J5_Hotlead's topic in Public Discussion
Those MFGs are sweet and I've convinced myself over and over again to NOT buy them... BUT THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL AND I WANT THEM! -
Not myself, I've always left default settings.
-
Finally got around to editing Klaiber's and my flight from last week: (Hopefully it scales back up soon) :/
-
It was a great discussion. I edited the title to reflect the USB topic.

For Oculus, you can get away with one sensor (no touch controllers) flying sims. I had mine offset to the right-front for months with zero seated tracking issues. Having two does give you more room vertically, by offsetting the angle the two look at. I have my sensors plugged into a powered hub, but the HMD, itself, is plugged into the back of the computer, directly to the MoBo. The other questions, I’ll leave to those more knowledgeable than I.
-
No, just initially locating it.
-
I had her fly behind the mountains and around the northern bases, inland. Maybe even some SAM defenses placed along the two waypoint orbit would deter enemy attacks?
-
Definitely pocketing this one!
-
Yeah, that video alone doesn’t prove much of anything except he was close enough (at 3k) to draw flak. Yeah, open servers you should avoid vultching but TAW, protect your house!
-
Quite well. I set Radio 1 and 2 preset #1 to the tanker and we had no problem getting ahold of her. Also, your tanker track is pretty huge, so I moved it to a more frontline, two waypoint orbit. It got picked off by air defenses when we spawned them, though. So maybe a flight of Phantoms should escort her.

Merry Christmas JG1!

Got around to putting together this little hop Trev and I did late last week (thumbnail is awesome!):
