  1. I'm glad you're G2G, I edited the title. Have fun tonight!
  2. F-16 with an AMRAAM.
  3. it was actually a Su-33. Even though he got me with an R-27ER, I'm impressed with the follow up that these two had on him.
  4. It turned out hat Trev's issues were across his 1.5 and 2.0 installations and has opted for a fresh install later this week.
  5. I haven't seen any hubbub on the forums, though.
  6. I love the Hipster van!
  7. Yeah, my port wing did disintegrate, didn't it? Thanks for the highlights Barton, always fun to watch and your commentary is getting better each time.
  8. I can't recall where I heard/read that someone had difficulty taking off in the MiG-21 with the nose wheel brake engaged and they left it off during takeoff. I believe it was this last Friday but I could have read it somewhere on the forum. I'm not sure if what was said intended to mean they were allowing the nose wheel to caster or not but it kept coming back to my mind. I just wanted to clarify that the MiG-21's nose wheel brake lever is actually engaging/disengaging a brake drum on the nose wheel and not locking the nose wheel in it's current position. The reason it may be easier to line up the aircraft during the initial takeoff roll with this disengaged is probably that it applies less braking force to the nose and only the differential brake you're trying to use to point the nose down the runway. I'm not sure what percentage of braking power goes to the nose or how it's modeled in the game so that's only my theory. The important thing to note is that your braking distance will be significantly longer without this brake engaged, be it a normal landing or an aborted takeoff. The nose wheel brake lever (horizontal means enabled): Great photo of the nose wheel brake on the MiG-21:
  9. If we get online with >4 peeps maybe take it online to Project Reality's server. Hopefully it suffers from less trolls than the others.
  10. And by us winning the round it is quite specifically Trev's insertion of troops to capture the last location that won it. I would equate it as the skinny kid that comes of the bench in the big game and goes to the free throw line on a charging penalty and scores the go ahead point.
  11. There is an early flight tomorrow. The schedule doesn't come out for another hour but lately they've been putting all four of us on them, meaning I'll be turning in early tonight. If not, I'll see you cats later.
  12. I'd jump at the chance to ride in that Goose! The Grumman Widgeon is one of my "affordable" dream planes.
  13. Isn't the max co-op 4 players? If I'm not on an early flight tomorrow I'll see about getting online for a bit. I've been itching for an excuse to play ARMA again. Now to remember those keys!
  14. Klaipeda and I were the only two on TS for WWII so we actually diverted to setting up Klai's Star Citizen controls and flew a couple of sorties in the MiG-21s before turning in for the evening.
  15. That sounds like me and Pensacola, I was only there for 2 months, lol.
  16. That's a great collection. I live near Edwards Air Force base and I see the contrails of guys doing test flights and think back to these photos.
  17. I'm shooting for 1830 PST but that can easily pushed right to 1930/2000. The wife has a project going on the door that may prevent me from getting on any earlier.
  18. I'm going to give some online play a shot later today. Working myself through the campaign has lead to some frustrations with only working with AI wingmen. However, these are probably the best AI wingmen I've seen, they listen to orders well and seem to actually work a good double attack on a single target using their energy to their advantage better then I have.
  19. I'm going to be out for a concert tonight but I'm hoping to get online for something this weekend.
  20. I have updated and played a mission in BoS and was able to get into a slip without spinning but the planes are very twitchy, even at high speeds. I adjusted my sensitivity curves to dumb it down and that helps a bit. It certainly is a pretty simulator, I've decided to give it several more flights before I make a decision. On a side note, I was shocked to turn off the runway on to what I thought was a taxiway just to have tall grass materialize all around me! I don't know if it was a graphical error or a mistake on my part. I'll certainly be more careful next time.
  21. be sure to buy her something for the holidays that eclipses the personal purchases you're making and it will be alright
  22. That's great, thank you for pointing this out, Klai.
  23. Star Citizen does have that focus right now but it's supposed to be a sandbox so if exploring is your goal, you can do it. The idea is you can do whatever suits your fancy. My last sandbox MMO had guys that did nothing but craft things for other players and took great pride in doing so. I plan on doing Combat Search and Rescue along with exploration. You just have to find a way to avoid the pirates and combat Klaiber, okay, okay. I'll give you slack on a new stick until 2017.
  24. Thanks Hess, just what I was waiting for. I went ahead and got BoM and the Ju-52. I just hope Jason holds up his end of the deal since I have just done mine
  25. I think it's time for a GoFundMe for Klaiber's stick.
