I have at least 10 to 15 more (mainly Allied skins)...

I'll try and hold off on posting for as long as I can.

Also, I would like to know if I have the permission to modify some actual (Yellow 14) 109, 110 and 190 skins, If I modify only the camo of the plane and no emblems or details done by Vonrd or Heinrich?

You can definitely modify them to your taste.

However, anything you did to them would need to fit into the current Paint Policy, outlined on the website: https://jg1.org/oesau/dicta/paint-policy/

So, you can modify your basic personal markings.  And you could modify the camouflage patterns.  And you could stay within the realm of historical examples.  And that's about it.

However, even though you're not a command pilot, I'd be okay with you further modifying your aircraft to include additional personal markings that break with the default rules.  However, they would have to be approved on a case-by-case basis, and they cannot include personal victory markings, known as Abschussbalken (kill bars).

Basically, whatever you did should try and attempt to match the aesthetics of the other JG 1 paint schemes already approved for use in the official JG 1 Paint Pack.

Cheers,
GenMarkof

Ps :I don't know why, but the old JG1 naming use ...BF109E-7_  and I use the same as the plane folder under skins (... BF109E7_ ).

Thanks, Gen.  Since we don't have any policy regarding the Allied paints, I didn't have any comments and just accepted them "as is."  However, since we have policies regarding Axis skins, I've noticed some issues that I wanted to highlight for correction.

  1. We're only accepting one skin per German aircraft at this time.  I would pick the summer version (as we're not a Nachtjagdgeschwader) and submit that one alone.
  2. Also, just in case you have some planned, we're not doing winter skins, as that's an Eastern Front thing.
  3. (Brit's correct) Your vertical stabilizer should be clear of the Hakenkreuz, even the hollowed-out version you're currently using.
  4. Since the Bf 109E is an early to mid-war aircraft (circa 1940 to 1943), it must display the Tatzelwurm, which you have.  However, it cannot display the JG 1 "Oesau" winged "1" emblem, as that's 1943 to 1945 marking.  Additionally, the Tatzelwurm and the winged "1" should never be used together.  It would be one or the other.
  5. I would give it a cutout since the Tatzelwurm is yellow on a yellow cowling.  Like this historical example from I./JG 3:
    1. 5643_7302.jpg
  6. Ideally, try and get the Tatzelwurm to be the same yellow color as the cowling.  Ground crews would use the same colored paint for both, hence the cutout.
  7. Regarding the naming structure, please match what is already in the pack.  So, your new skin would be v_!_JG1_Bf109E-7_GenMarkof  This ensures that it replaces the old skin.

S! @Klaiber,

Got it... I will review the summer skin.
Just a last question?
Can I have my emblem on the two side of the plane or just one?
Saying this, because sometimes we spawn on the right or left side of other squad mate!

Thanks
Gen

Hi Gen,

You can definitely have the emblem on both sides.  Having it on one side (the port side) was a stylistic choice to match historical aircraft.  As that's how pilots tended to enter the cockpit.  But I have Igantz all over the place and on both sides.

Two skins of Bf109G-6 Late flown by Friedrich Eberle Gruppenkommander of III./JG1 at Eelde in Oct. 43. I used the colors as provided by @SimSonius and changed the wing pattern camo as per http://theprofilepaintshop.blogspot.com/2013/10/chosing-correct-wingpattern-for-bf109g-6.html. Again @SimSonius provided this information. I used Rap's Petrol spill psd on the fuel filler, added and modified weathering (I manipulated the Alpha to make the oil on the belly shiny wet looking). Each skin is rendered both with and without the swastika and they have been submitted to Haluters. Should be available there in a couple days. Files are here if you don't want to wait but the naming might be different at Haluters: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dmgwk954c26zgic/AABjHIlMmdHQM8Ytz9kp9adya?dl=0

NOTE: Only the non swastika skins will be submitted for consideration for addition to the JG1 skinpack. The files in the Dropbox link with swastika are "Bf109G6Late_Friedrich Eberle_Nov43_SW" and "Bf109G6Late_Friedrich Eberle_Oct43_SW".

I welcome and encourage any critiques.

Really nice skins. I read that the commanders badge was overpainted because of some temporary order? To blend in with the pack?

There may be more of an explanation out there in the intertubes but I found this during my research:

Eberle´s aircraft had been marked with a double chevron but in accordance with temporary orders, this marking was painted over and the commander´s aircraft was marked with a number.
