  1. It seems that this is already a thing. Searches are bringing up numerous sites. Although this seems like a great tool to bring history to life, I can imagine bad actors using it to alter the truth. Looks like we "live in interesting times" as the supposed ancient Chinese curse goes. This is IMHO an example of the benign use of AI:
  2. This is what AI is really good for. I hope to see more of this sort of work.

  6. Posted 12/19/25 This livery depicts a Belgian Air Force C-130H Hercules, Registration: CH-13, c/n 382-4047 which featured a striking paint scheme in 2013 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of C-130 operations with the 20th Squadron and the 65th anniversary of the 15th Wing. The forward fuselage features an overall black background with a portrait of a Native American Chief in full headdress with the starboard vertical fin dedicated to marking 40 years of the Hercules transport aircraft in Belgian service and the port side of the fin commemorated the 65th anniversary of the 15th Air Transport Wing. Features: Engine exhaust re-done from default to more closely replicate exhaust staining which includes flaps, flap wells and trailing edges. Belgian Pilot flight suit. Yes, I know the DCS module is the "J" model which is longer and has 6 bladed composite propellers but I love this paint scheme. Aircraft History: Originally served with the U.S. Air Force as a WC-130E meteorological research aircraft before being acquired by Belgium as a replacement for CH-02, which was destroyed in a fire in 2006. It was formally delivered to the Belgian Air Component on March 17, 2009, making it the newest (in terms of delivery date to Belgium) but oldest (in terms of manufacturing date and prior service time) aircraft in the fleet. CH-13 made its final operational flight and was retired in April 2021. It is the only Belgian C-130 to be preserved and is now a museum exhibit at the Golden Falcon / 1st Wing Historical Centre in Beauvechain. The Folder is too large for user files. 7. Happy Hannukah (despite Bondi Beach) and Merry Christmas and prayers for more light than darkness in the upcoming year.
  8. Don't do it! Congrats on the new Cadet!
  9. The OG by The Proclaimers is one of my favorites but this is an interesting arrangement.

  13. @NightFlier I'm the same as what @Flyboy posted above. There is also the possibility of Saturdays for me (and probably some of the others) after about 1900 UTC since we have now completed our EIF tournament which ran at that time. That being said, this week is the US Thanksgiving holiday and many (myself included) might be involved with family.
  14. Hi @Historiker I am also retired and have plenty of free time. I'm in Oakland CA - GMT-7. Of course, since retirement I tend to sleep late so afternoons thru late evening would be the time for me to fly. I'm competent in the Mi-8 and the Mi-24 but haven't been rotoring for a while and am probably rusty. Focusing mostly on the MiG-29 currently. I'm hoping that some members might show up tonight around 6PM Pacific but squad attendance has been somewhat lax of late. We'll see. Main JG1 Discord: https://discord.gg/SM6Uk5XuJ2
  15. Fairly early Pink Floyd with bluegrass flavor. Billy Strings is so good and wide in his musical interests.
  16. And it works like new!
  17. There is always a plethora of puppies there since there is no Vet available to spay / neuter. The whole village really loves their dogs though and makes sure they are fed. I never saw a gato but they must be around and I never saw any ratons.
  18. This is a skinpack of Luftwaffe F-4E Phantom IIs in Norm 81B Camouflage made for my friends in virtual squadron JaboG35. It consists of 8 separate aircraft with each having it's unique side number. 4 of the skins have red, blue or yellow tail / dorsal markings. The aircrew's flight suits are period correct orange as are the gloves in dirty white. Jagdbombergeschwader 35 (JaboG 35) was a German Air Force fighter-bomber wing that operated from 1957 until its disbandment in 1994. Based at Pferdsfeld Air Base, it flew F-4F Phantom IIs.After German reunification, the Luftwaffe's structure was re-evaluated, leading to the disbandment of JaboG 35 in 1994. The wing's traditions were transferred to Jagdgeschwader 73 (JG 73), now Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 73 "Steinhoff," at Laage Air Base. All folders including "JaboG35_Common" (very important) go in (Your chosen drive):\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\F-4E-45MC. The total file size is too large for User Files. The link is in the zip file but I'll repeat it here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sqr67zygq1q1mq0g0j839/JaboG35.zip?rlkey=u0hj6oex2a5r2v0q05ws6olws&st=x5vxh5fx&dl=0
  19. Too fat and infirm to surf. I just swam.
  20. Went to visit Mike and Cholie. Mike and I were Best Buds through High school. We were in jazz, concert and marching band and also dedicated surfers. I hadn't seen him for 47 years. He owns Cowabunga Hotel and Bungalows in San Juanico, BCS, a very remote fishing village (no post office, no Amazon delivery, no gas station, no cell service, the town just got municipal electricity 6 months ago) and EVERYONE is very friendly and seem content. 21. I used the template set by GIMloo as a starting point. Thank you Sir! See his post here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3347249/ for a download link. Additionally I'd like to thank ED for not encrypting the Fulcrum. This livery depicts Luftwaffe MiG-29G 29+20 with the construction number (c/n) 2960526315, initially operated by the East German Air Force (Luftstreitkräfte der NVA) with the side number "785", that was assigned to Fighter Wing 73 Steinhoff after German reunification. It is famous for its unique paint scheme, which was applied in 2001 for the unit's open house day at Rostock-Laage air base. That livery is one of the default ones and this one is it's appearance prior to that scheme. Three years later, in 2004, it was decommissioned alongside all other Luftwaffe MiG-29s and was transferred to the Polish Air Force and given the side number 4121. I have been unable to determine whether this airframe was one of the ones transferred to Ukraine. File is too large for User Files. 22. I'm pretty sure I already know but: I added a category: Will you primarily be?: Pilot / Aircraft Gunner / Tanker
  23. I added a category: Will you primarily be?: Pilot / Aircraft Gunner / Tanker For those who have already registered, don't worry, I already know your preference. No need to add to your registration. If I have reacted to your registration post with a "Thanks" (purple cup emoji) it means that your registration is official and complete. So I ask that nobody else react with the "Thanks" emoji please.
