You don't need VR for IL-2: Great Battles or DCS World. Your TrackIR 4 or 5 will work great. VR is just an option for immersion and spatial orientation. [end actual answer] . . . If you're still curious about VR: There are a number of good headsets out there. I currently use Meta Quest 2. Other are on Meta Quest 3. A few are using the HP Reverb. https://www.pcgamer.com/best-vr-headset/ However, VR requires a system capable of properly running the headset, as well as USB 3.0 connection points. This video is for MSFS, but it's a good overview of what to expect:

Hi Doc, sorry about not responding right away. I'll contact you tonight!
-
I think so. But we can always offer to switch hit if necessary.
-
It's such a great film.
-
This looks like a lot of fun!
-
What I think is interesting is that the narrator says uh·loo·muh·nuhm, not a·luh·mi·nee·uhm.
-
Doc! Great to hear from you. I'll send you an email to the address you registered with and we'll work through the details. Talk to you more soon!

Btw, has anyone started watching Masters of the Air yet? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masters_of_the_Air No spoilers, as I haven't had the chance yet.
-
I've never seen that. I'll have to check it out! Norman Jewison has so many other good movies - Rollerball, Jesus Christ Superstar, Fiddler on the Roof, The Thomas Crown Affair, Moonstruck, In the Heat of the Night, etc.

Is it wrong that one of my favorite "sub movies" is Operation Petticoat?
-
Yeah, they did a really good job.

I loved playing B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th. This brings back memories.
-
Definitely cool. If you download it, let us know what you think.

And speaking of Oregon Trail: https://forum.jg1.org/topic/10583-using-the-internet-archive-for-saving-webpages/?do=findComment&comment=83676

It reminded me of the good old days in the Computer Lab at college.

I thought some people here might appreciate this: https://amnesia-restored.com/ This is a restored version of the text adventure game Amnesia, originally released in 1986. It was written by sci-fi writer Thomas M. Disch and programmed by Kevin Bentley.

Yeah, I'm glad you posted about them. I'm not currently in the market for new pedals. But peripherals die all the time, so it's nice to know that there are a few options out there.
-
Wow, great pictures!
-
One of the big problems I always had with the CH pedals was how close together they were. It seemed a bit unnatural to keep my feet like that. Are the Velocity 1's better with that?
-
Very cool. They look great!

In the meantime, this will help: https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/set-up-link/ Until you have the cord, you'll need to connect through wifi.

I'd be happy to help you set up. When do you think you'll be online next?
