Yeah, that's really good.

Hi @mehtr, Welcome! Thanks for checking out our squadron. Don't worry about being a newbie to the MiG-21. It's a great aircraft to learn DCS on. I'll send you an email to the address you registered to the forums with. Looking forward to talking with you more soon!

Hi @Raptor, It's good to hear from you again! I hope that everything with you has been great. I'll send you an email to the address you registered with. Looking forward to talk more soon.

Hi @rotagen, welcome! I'm not familiar with a Pacific mod for IL-2 Great Battles. But I did find this: And this: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/35406-wipmod-the-pacific-mod/

Us too. Should be a lot of fun. Btw: do you fly the MiG-19 or -15? Just curious.

Hi @MiG_operator, Welcome! Thanks for checking out our squadron. Honestly, if you like getting chased by AMRAAMS in a MiG-21, you'll definitely find comrades here. I'll send you an email to the address you registered to the forums with. Looking forward to talking with you more soon!

Found this while looking at YouTube today. It goes through all four branches of the NVA. Not only is the music funky, but some of the shots of equipment and personnel are really interesting. I especially liked "a night out on the town in Cottbus" @21:14. And the spinning protocol training @ 23:50.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Thanks for clarifying!

DO NOT Update Windows 11 IF you have a REVERB G2!
Klaiber replied to Snaggle's topic in Technical Support
Is it an issue with Windows Mixed Reality? Or with the software for the Reverb itself? Sorry for the dumb question if the video covered it. -
Jason Williams & his new sim "Combat Pilot"
Klaiber replied to wheelsup_cavu's topic in Public Discussion
Very interesting. The renderings of the Zeke is really good: https://forum.combatpilot.com/topic/48-combat-pilot-developer-diaries/?do=findComment&comment=7150 -
Same. I've been meaning to learn the F1, being a big fan of the M-2000C.
-
@Phobos - honestly, I agree with you. It's a crime that there aren't more Mirage F1 squadrons out there. I can think of a number of historical units to emulate.
-
Knowing that the Mirage F1 is your primary aircraft, what other modules do you like flying within DCS? As I said, we have MF1 pilots. But only a handful.

If you're in the market, I personally recommend Alexander PCs for pre-build. They're amazing, the build was amazing, the tech support and customer support was amazing. I can't recommend them enough: https://alexanderpcs.com/ I believe @Snaggle got his PC from NZXT and had a very good experience with them too: https://nzxt.com/ @Vonrd and @Moxy recently bought a PC. I'm not sure where they purchased from.

No, the above is great. It's his current that can't handle the vRAM load. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) 16 Gb RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 (1 Gb)

Here are the minimum system requirements for IL-2: Great Battles: https://il2sturmovik.com/ [scroll all the way to the bottom] I think your processor is okay. It just makes the requirement. You just make the RAM requirement too. Your video card will struggle. If it has 1 Gb of vRAM, that won't be enough. And if you're curious to compare, here are DCS World's minimums: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/stable/

Hi @Phobos, thanks for checking us out. As Vonrd mentioned above, some of us fly the Mirage F1CE and F1EE. I'm not sure if they've tried the F1BE yet. We often use them in concert with the MiG-21bis, MiG-19P, F-5E, and F-14A to replicate IRIAF or IQAF forces during events. We can definitely try and provide you with a squadron environment where you could fly the Mirage. However, do you have any experience with the MiG-21bis? That's our primary aircraft, so knowing it would help you coordinate with the group. Either way, I'll send you an email to the address you used to register to the forums. Hope to talk to you more soon.

You don't need VR for IL-2: Great Battles or DCS World. Your TrackIR 4 or 5 will work great. VR is just an option for immersion and spatial orientation. [end actual answer] . . . If you're still curious about VR: There are a number of good headsets out there. I currently use Meta Quest 2. Other are on Meta Quest 3. A few are using the HP Reverb. https://www.pcgamer.com/best-vr-headset/ However, VR requires a system capable of properly running the headset, as well as USB 3.0 connection points. This video is for MSFS, but it's a good overview of what to expect:

Hi Doc, sorry about not responding right away. I'll contact you tonight!
-
I think so. But we can always offer to switch hit if necessary.
-
It's such a great film.
-
This looks like a lot of fun!

What I think is interesting is that the narrator says uh·loo·muh·nuhm, not a·luh·mi·nee·uhm.
-
Doc! Great to hear from you. I'll send you an email to the address you registered with and we'll work through the details. Talk to you more soon!
