  1. Nothing like attack helicopters and Soviet-era 70's porn music.
  2. This is pretty cool! Definitely let us know what you think after you download them.
  3. I've never heard of Historynet, but after googling them, I guess they're owned by the same people who published Armchair General magazine, which I used to see in the pharmacy and convenience stores in my area. Strange how they don't date anything... I don't know enough about the history of rotary engines, or how they operate or perform, to say what I think about the article. But its definitely fun reading.
  4. Chill's videos are outstanding. Like this one - a rotary touch and go:
  5. All I want for Christmas is a Fitter.
  6. Yeah, Cuban paint schemes are really nice.
  7. For people with JG1 access: https://forum.jg1.org/topic/8891-jg1-discords/
  8. Brit, Lady and I use Discord all the time. But there is so much racing stuff going on, anything squadron related we post gets lost. So we just stopped. But with a tighter page, dedicated solely towards getting people together, I think it could be very effective.
  9. I'll start thinking along those lines and get back to you guys.
  10. The idea of a dedicated PUG area is a good one. I am, however, concerned about adding another sub-forum to a board already filled with sub-forums. For Brit and I, who see everything , I feel like we need to be pruning back, not expanding. PUG messages don't need to be kept for perpetuity. 4./JG 1 communicates through WhatsApp about their day to day schedules. And Discord basically does the same thing for those who check it. No reason to keep messages designed to be abandoned after the date or time. Perhaps our current JG1 Discord needs to be given over fully to JG1RT, and a new JG1 Discord created that's cleaner, simpler and more direct.
  11. Yeah, wounding in 1946 didn't really work. You were kind of alive or dead - Schrodinger's pilot? Much the same way DCS currently handles it. BoX is much better in that regard, as it actually gives you an idea that the pilot has been hurt.

  13. I love the bear. Going further down this rabbit hole:
  14. Not sure right now. Still working out ideas. But it would probably be helicopter and CAS focused.
  15. Yeah, Syria's performance is much improved. I still have to do some tests to see if I can use it for a big mission. But I'm very hopeful!
  16. Just in case you're fittin' for some Fitters:
  17. Yeah, I would love a Su-22. I've always had a great affinity for that aircraft.
  18. Wow, a Fresco? That would be awesome! It took me a few minutes, but I found their website: https://redstarsimulations.com/ Apparently, after they make the MiG-17, they're considering either the Dassault Super Mystère or the Su-22 Fitter. @Firefly Pretty sweet!
  19. I hope this means that it's going to be released soon. Been dying to fly it.
  20. @Britchot, wow, those are beautiful.
  21. Gen, your controls are here: X:\Users\...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input I back up this folder.
  22. If you don't have DCS yet, don't get it through Steam. As people have mentioned above, Steam will make you wait longer. Also, go for DCS World Open Beta: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/beta/ This is what we fly 99.999% of the time.
  23. You've been holding those since 2014!

  25. In all seriousness, though. I thought it was about two weeks, because we have a major update to Open Beta upcoming. It'll have the new clouds and new propellers for the WW2 aircraft. And it made sense for them to include the Hind in that, as they were pushing a ton of videos and had already opened pre-orders. Oh well...
