@Heinrich: That sounds great, many thanks! The only thing I don't get => according to my understanding the official Il2 skins are any how not a part of that "graphics\skins"-folder in the game but stored anywhere else. So even if u delete that "skins" folder completely I think (!) you will anyhow have all skins that are delivered with the game available. So I don't think that this 1st zip-file as you plan would be needed...

Hi, thanks for the respond Von. Sorry for the confusion, I know that there is no way that all obsolete files can be delteted automatically => it's clear that this is in everyone's own responsibility! I just wanted to say that this file can be deleted out of the downloadable file so that it is at least not further spreaded around... And totally clear that it's neither your nor anyones else responsibility to do that organisational Sisyphus work of keeping the skin jungle here in a consolidated form. My post was just meant for the case that it would be nice IF someone (whoever) would work on a complete overview again, because as long as as we don't have such a thing we will never come to the moment where we all fly on the same skin consolidated versions anymore. For me that skinning is anyhow a nice to have side-topic; so I simply want to thank everyone for putting work into this topic, but I never would expect anyone to take care of it...

Btw. Guys: I detected that I have 2 personell Skins for the Albatross D.V. Who ever did them for me => Many Many thanks! But as I have a clear preference for the "Etzel b" one, the other one can be deleted in the next consolidated download file.... And btw.: Will there be somewhen a consolidated overall zip-file with all actual Skins of WW1 and WW2? This would be great, also because of the Rooster-Changes I think I need somewhen simply to delete everything and download new, to avoid having too much obsolete skins in the folders... Not only that it takes disc space, it's also annoyning in the game when u have a list of 20 or more skins you always have to search through

Just one Idea: For the testing it might be an option to reduce defence forces significantly... It would make it easier to check within one mission if the desctruction of a specific target leads to the desired results then, esp. as there will probably be only one plane per target. Also in the drop zone it would be gread to see some results of successfull para drops And that ground units are defending the targets pretty effective we tested already successfully last week

Heilung seems really to be great live band, esp. as far as I can judge from the videos I saw. There was a concert in Vienna last November relatively close to my flat, unfortunately it was sold out very quickly! Next time they are here I want to see them for sure!

At the moment it's lazyness to be honest... I have 2 250 GB SSD, 1 where I have the operation system, several tools and general programes (office, etc) and 2nd one for games dedicted... all other stuff (like media) I have already on a additional hard disk.... If I'd buy a new one I need to get rid of the old one, meaning I have to ensure that the data is transferred properly, Steam needs to be re-installed and all the other stuff there... so overall there would be some work to do which I'd like to postpone to the time when I'll buy anyhow a complete new machine... Regarding the management of skins: Well, I could clean up the skin-folder on myself but therefor it must least to be clear, which one is the Main-Skin for the Pilot... otherwise I delete this one and have the other (maybe just rarely used one) still on the disk....

Just few words from my side: First of all I need to say that I am really impressed by the creativity and the skills of all you skin-builders. But for me unfortunatly disc space starts to become an issue... I have steam installed on an 250 GB SSD drive and despite I have uninstalled most of the steam games there are only about 30 GB left on that drive. Considering that with each new update of IL2 the space used will increase more and more, esp. when further Maps will be rolled out and also as 1GSC announced further improved graphic details on maps, pilots, etc and also more official skins.... Now I am totally agree with the approach, that 2K vs. 4K doesn't make the huge difference space-wise BUT the simple number of skins do...! So I kindly ask if we can go with the approach, that our skins are 2K by default only BUT with the strict rule that the official JG1 skin pack contains only 1 personal skin per pilot per plane and when any new skin for a plane is added the existing older skin for this pilot and plane will be overwritten? Otherwise sooner or later I won't be able to install the updates any more.....

Same here... I created the folder \IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\swf\externalmedia\ and the result is the same like for Reinamann: I get no error code any more and the loading screen shows up, but then I am kicked back to the Coop / Dogfight page (without any message). I'm on Windows 10...
