  1. Cooool, another CET located player yet... Welcome ataribaby.... I am not flying DCS, but looking forward to fly in WW2 and WW1 worlds of BoX/FC with you!
  2. Great News Grandpa!!! Congratulations!!
  3. And just as a reminder my prediction some weeks ago: ...well, it's not confirmed by now, but I am pretty confident that there will be also some FC announcement soon...
  4. Hey Guys, there 3 (!) new announcements in the IL2-Forum.... The most important: The next Theater in WW2 will be "Battle of Normandy" and guys..... please look at the map and esp. on the city-names you read on the eastern part of it: So if THAT map does not shout out loud "PLEASE RE-USE ME FOR FLYING CIRCUS Vol. II - The Channel Map" .... (and also for a Battle of Britain-Usage... but thats anther question).... ...then I don't know....
  5. It is possible direct in the Game itself: Via "Settings" then "Game"
  6. Nevermind, found it directly in the game menu in the settings, there u can activate and game will restart with Mods on. Nevertheless thanks for your advice
  7. Thanks, but I did not find a similar setting menue anywhere in steam, nor something similar to a launcher.exe. Well, there are startup options to enter parameters via line-commands, probably its possible to switch modes on this way.... Will search IL2-Forums for this when I really need it
  8. That is the way Mods are activated in Rise of Flight, I know. But in BoX / FC there is no launcher... Only an Icon on desktop that first starts up steam (I have bought Battle of Stalingrad via Steam) and then starts BoX. I do not have any idea where could turn on any special mode before starting the game?
  9. How can mods be turned on from player-side in Il2?
  10. Would like to do some online flying tonight... probably somewhen between 9 and 10 pm UTC either WWI or WWII, depending on which server looks promising; Will be on our TS server then
  11. ...well... then we could discuss this as feature, that adds some additional challenge. As compensation it could be considered to shrink the zones for General Capture and Spy pick up a little and place more of them over map, always next to some big roads. Only one of them is active, but enemy don't know which one... (similar to HQ, but without any visible mark like the flak truck). Additionally you could provide more dedicated planes for those missions as chances for wrecking them are a little higher. Nevertheless the soggy ground is still an issue if there is no way to place individual airfields. If it would be realized that way, that mission buliders can place active and inactive airfields (inactive ones e.g. for prisoner rescure) with better ground conditions individually I would see the soggy ground really as feature that adds some immersion. (esp. as there is still a chance for successfull landing and take off, but with higher chance of fail....)
  12. Maybe a possible workaround: I use for push of my pedals for other functions (push-to-talk in teamspeak and toggleof the service menue) and using the twist axis instead for the wheel brakes... works fine for me. Only minus point is that I need a seperate button assigned for using both wheel brakes...
  13. Also enjoyed the flights with you guys, esp. on the 1st map. I hope that this server concept is somehow a prototype for what could be in few years from now: Participating in massive air&ground tournaments with much more players and specific objectives that need clear strategy and cooperation between the different (flying and driving) weapon units.... And for the moment this set-up is really worth to join, esp. if do not have the time for long flights and look for some fast air & ground based action instead ....
  14. Well, finally everything works fine.... I just used the repair feature for Il2 in Steam and all texture folders were reset, then I took over the files from your zip-archive and now I have all normalmaps back AND I have your custom notes... tested them in 3 different planes now and they are great!!!! Many thanks Von! Regarding the effect of the normalmaps: Of course now I can confirm there is some difference; hard to describe ... it's just the tick of immersion somehow. But good to know that playing without them doesn't have any severe impact
  15. Arrgl.... Ok, I see.. What I am wondering, that I did not recognice anything strange in my flights with the FW-190 A3 and the A20 despite the fact that those files were not existing anymore... Anyhow: Thanks very much for clarification
  16. if I am not wrong FiF ends at 1 pm PST
  17. Hmm, sounds interesting.... maybe joining somewhen between 1 pm and 2 pm PST would be managable for me.
  18. No, that part has nothing to do with your zip file, as the files out of your zip were simply added to the already existing default ones, so after extraction there were 2 dds files in every folder. What I did (for all folders up to the FW-190ies so far) was to rename the default photo to "custom_photo_orig.dds" (for "original") and renamed your names (e.g. A20B_B.dds) to "custom_photo.dds" as the game won't recognice any other file... maybe the issue is, that the other file still has the part "custom_photo" in the file-name..?? Or maybe is only 1 dds file per plane-texture-folder allowed (no matter which name it has)...??? Questions over Questions... But never mind, I will try later to fix it with trial and error on my own ...
  19. Thanks a lot for your Work Von, but they are not working for me. Tested in single player campaings on FW-190-A3 and A20, from which I took the pasted screenshot: I see in both planes only an empty blue memo...
  20. Thanks Klai, I think thats pretty clear now! Anyhow I thought it would be a good idea to post the question here for all participants readable to remind non-american pilots that mission starting time is now different for this (how it turns out: only one) week...
  21. Ah, ok... then I misinterpreted the Info: Week B1 (Saturday, November 9th) [end of daylight savings time] ....in the schedule post! Thanks for clarification!
  22. Hi, short question on next saturdays session: In Europe the DST ended alreaday last weekend, so we are already at standardtime, which means in central Europe time is UTC+1. As I see in the "schedulde & teams" posting in North America the DST will end on the weekend Nov. 9th / 10th. So the next 2 Saturdays ( Nov. 2nd and Nov. 9th) the mission starting time remains at 6.p.m. UTC (thus 1 hour earlier in CET) and only with Nov. 16th we switch to 7.p.m. UTC! => is this correct? Salute Etzel
  23. Hope that everthing turns ok for our california members, all the best from europe to you guys!
