Thanks for the Info, good chance that I join today as well. If there would be a larger group on Discrod, maybe SRS would be an option for cross-coms with TS?

Application to join - Dracul von Snotklappen
Etzel replied to Dracul von Snotklappen's topic in JG1 Recruitment
Welcome Dracul, looking forward to our 1st flights -
Well, changing plans => if no JG1s are on J5 I join EU mates for WW2 flying (just in case anyone wants to join there => we are to be found at discord)
-
Hello all! Wasn't available last week, but would anyone be in the mood of flying at J5 Flugpark tonight? Starting time around 20:30 UTC (21:30 Central Europe?) S! Etzel

Happy new Year Guys! FYI: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/82305-happy-new-year-sunday-flying-circus-at-the-flugpark/ ...well, allthough my plans for evening are not finally decided now, there is a chance that I will be there somewhen this evening. So maybe there are others in the mood for some WW1 flying too Salute Etzel

Hello Pilots! 1st: Merry Xmas to all of you... 2nd, for those who have some flying time in between: I'd like to do some flights at Jasta 5 Flying Circus Sunday missions tonight... probably online between 2100 & 2200 UTC Salute and all the best to you and your beloved ones Etzel

Hello Monkee, welcome to our Group! I'm part of european JG1 group and very happy to see new pilots in the same timezone Rise of Flight is not flewn anymore with us, currently we fly Il2 WW2 scenarios most times, anyhow some of us (including myself) are also happy to jump into Flying Circus more frequently again Looking forward to see you in skies soon Salute Etzel (located in Austria and I am happy to have another pilot with us to tell how all of those frensh villages and cities are pronounced correctly )

Well, just to mention: It's not the final map version, it's a Beta

...including Western Front Map for FC and the C47 is out: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/12826-game-updates/?do=findComment&comment=1233905 ...well, currently I am really short of flying time; but definitly looking forward to see how Verdun looks like in FC and how the C-47 will fly. Also curious what you guys will let us know after the first flights after the update

Well, it's anyhow too late now and I cannot tell too much on all the GPU stuff, but regarding the CPU: I have an AMD 7 5800X, did cost 480 € (1.5 years ago) and that CPU is doing a real great job; recogniced that in IL2 Single Player Campaign missions, where on my old client when many AI planes appeard the game turned slow motion and when an enemy plane passed me heads on he flew by with 3 screens...felt like 2 FPS. Flying a mission with dense activity in my new one (large bomber formatins with 12 planes, inkluding 4 or more escorts and at least 6 friendlies around) => no perfomance issue at all! We also had few Co-Op-Missions for the european group with some AI activity running on that machine without any issue. So regarding the CPU I am really happy with my Ryzen and I see no reason to step back to intel any more...

Great Impressions!!! thx 4 sharing!!
-
So thanks to all Pilots flying with me and thanks to @WWCephas for running that server with such cool missions! Salute!!

4th Part: Some more impressions of the ongoing attacks: Again a ruined skip bomb because of too high and too late: Left engine on fire after ground fire hit: But it was really amazing how long the J88 C6 still keeps flyable in that situation, at least long enough to deliver the remainig bombs on another ship (to avoid waste of valuable material : ...was at least able to fly the plane out of the action zone ion direction to the beach, before ditching on water and swimming back home.....
-
3rd Part: Organisation of the attack... it is not so easy to process all the information u receive during the action => even that we really were focussing on calling in's and out's near miss situations happen: But well, everything was fine and we got it: Should have whatched my engine settings better.... Engine 1 stopped propably after flying to long on emergency (maybe also 1 bullet hit it.. don't know): ..well, that's not a reason not to continue with some strafing on the way home: ...which was no good idea, because finally the crew of this ship killed the pilot just in that moment: The gunner was able too jump out.... ...but I am affraid also he did not survive this....
-
2nd Part: Skip bombing training with the Ju88 C6: Dropping 1 500 from that position... ...was too late and/or to high: Also with 2 Pairs of 50 kgs I was not too successfull....

Again some screens of the action we had the WingWalkers Server on the new Normandy Invasion map this week. Pilots involved were @Heinrich, @Greif , @Sancho Panzer, @loopy and on of the days also @Stahl joined the fun (allthough I don't know if it was at those missions where the screenshots are taken). 1st Part: Ship Attacks with a 190 A6

Did some recordings in the 1st Mission of J5 Black September. Came for the 2nd half and was assigned in a bomber flight with @Vonrd , @Lee and @Jaus, where we 1st went for enemy airfield at cappy which we were able to knock out. Unfortunatly I did not record anything of that attack, which was out of a training book, all planes did make it back to the home base. In the remaining 30 minutes we headed north in expectation to go for tank bombing; when we arrived there 10 Minutes before the mission ended we did not find any tank, but one most intense furballs I had for quite long time now... Following pics are out of that action... Thx 4 the fun guys and thanks for leading us @HotleadColdfeet

After the Black September Session today I would be available for more online flying in IL2. Considering a de-brief & short brake after the session I would say somewhen between 2030 and 2100 UTC would be a possible starting time for some missions on any other servers
-
Some Impressions from a new map running on Wing Walkers WW2 server where I was flying with @Greif and @Heinrich:
-
Pretty sure u need to map it on buttons. In the 190 nearly everything was controlled electrical, also pitch trim neeed buttons... Well, never tried manual prop in 190, but e.g. in Hs129 prop pitch works via buttons
-
Hi, saw this already and would be happy to join your team. As far as I can say now I would be available on all 3 dates, allthough with the usual limitation that 1800 UTC won't be possible easily. But could be planned for the 2nd half of each mission for what task so ever... Is there anything needed to register beside the vote on the poll in that thread? Salute Etzel
-
Have fun! Today I'm probably not be able to join because out for having a beer with friends.... low chance that I am home before you quit so that I could join for a last mission maybe, let's see
-
Thanks for the info Hot! Allthough I am not a fan of the N28 it would be at least a good chance to fly allied WW1 planes again... Anyhow I don't know if I have enough energy for online flying tonight, if I do I will decide spontaneously dependent on the actual balance situation I come to you on allied side or if I stay with central...
-
Salute Pilots! Available for some longer flights this evening, preferably on one of the large WW2 servers to show some JG1 Presence if mission situation is interesting there, if not also WingWalkers could be an option Should be ready by 2100 CET (1900 UTC), will be in the discord guest channels
