They are in A1 and B1 slots. It's two sticks of 16GB each. All the RAM is showing as active, so not an issue there. I was wondering if it's a voltage or timing issue in the BIOS?

Well I am officially up and running with the new build. Everything is awesome for the most part. I cannot seem to get my RAM to stay stable at anything over 3100mhz though... As they are rated for 4000mhz, and the mobo can handle DDR5 at 5000+mhz I feel like I should be able to get more out of the RAM. The CPU is running nicely with good temps at 5Ghz though, so definitely seeing better performance in DCS. Drive cloning was a real pain, but I feel like I am a damn expert now. M.2 drive is wildly fast, so it was well worth it. Ought to be able to clear out some old files, and make a lot of room for games and recording files. Any ideas on what the RAM issue might be?

Just picked up an i7-12700k on sale at Best Buy yesterday. Decided that it was now or never to pull the trigger on the big upgrade! This is in preparation for VR later this year. Had to get a new motherboard to fit the new CPU, and needed to jump up to 32GB of RAM. After some heat issues in my current build I am going for an All-in-one liquid cooler from Corsair, and with how big DCS is getting I picked up a new M.2 drive solely for DCS. I think this set up will get me DCS VR ready! It'll probably be a while before I grab the headset, but I am going to enjoy the improved performance until then! New Parts! -Corsair H100X AIO 240mm liquid cooler -Intel i7-12700k LGA 1700 -WD 1TB M.2 drive -Ripjaws DDR4 4000mhz 32GB -Asus H670 Prime D4 mobo

The way Microsoft treats Windows is wild. They really do just let it run out into the open with lots of muzzles pointed at it and hope it survives... I want to make the leap to Windows 11, but I have my reservations for the above reasons.

I use DaVinci Resolve 17 to edit. Never had a better editor in my life, and the full version is free to use. It's widely used in the professional and academic worlds as well. This is the tutorial I used to get up and running. You could browse through to see if you like the look of it.

I spotted these on the K52 discord today, and wanted to know if you guys knew anything about them. Either way I think these liveries are awesome!!

I would like to make this a sort of discussion thread here because I find it very interesting how claims worked throughout history. As a good example the way German pilots in WWII were expected to actually see the pilot bailout or watch the plane impact the ground and they needed a wingman to confirm it is pretty much as strict as it gets. That's a far cry from how claims were handled in the RAF which seem to not need any witness and its pretty loose as to what gets claimed as damaged, probable, or destroyed. I am curious if we have specific ways we are supposed to claim in Richthofen vs Oesau vs Schmenkel. I did read the "kill policy", and I am wondering if that is generally accepted as the way the German Air Force, in all of its iterations, claimed kills, or do we just have a kill policy within the squadron for consistency. Additionally, I am wondering very specifically how US forces claimed kills in WWI, WWII, and after. If anyone wants to chime in with how the USSR, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, or anyone else, did it, I would be interested to know.

World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous, Oct. 7-8
Shadepiece replied to Flyboy's topic in Public Discussion
Aw man! They are gonna have a Sabre and a MiG-15 on the 17th! I might have to go to both. I live in Pittsburgh, so this is seriously doable for me! -
Same over here, East Coast US. Heard it was down on the West Coast too.

Unless it has changed I do have the Teamspeak still! I'd love to jump in the discord to chat in the meantime, but we can get into Teamspeak anytime next week. I am on spring break next week, so whenever you are free I can make it happen. I am planning on flying a lot next week as a result, so that's why I thought it might be a good time to get reacquainted!

Hey guys, It's been a while, but I wanted to check back in with you guys. I have been really getting back into flight sims on a regular basis, and although I still fly WWII with ACG, I really miss having a group for canvas and wood wings and afterburners. I was wondering if you guys have a discord that you coordinate for flying because I know you have the Racing one. Also, I have been running some training sessions recently for ACG, and I have really been enjoying that. I find myself pulling a lot of information from the basic course you guys ran me through, and I was thinking a lot about that as well. Klaiber, I really appreciate how you run this group, and I would be honored to fly with you guys again. Could we maybe have a conversation on Teamspeak sometime soon? For all of you who remember me I am happy to see you are still here, and to those of you who don't I hope we can get acquainted! I have sung your praises to pilots looking for a group ever since I left! I am grateful to be in a better place in my life so that I can enjoy this hobby more regularly again. Regards, Joe 'Shadepiece' Ebersohl

The Enigma server is truly awesome. I think it's the best server in DCS at the moment. I've just been getting the grips on the 19, and wow is it fun!! Here is a video detailing the server. They have done a few updates since then, but the core rules are still present. There is usually 40+ on at all times!

I have been flying lots of DCS lately. Eningma's cold War server in all the MiGs! It's been awesome! Are you guys doing any jets these days?

Hello gents, I haven't been around in a while, but I always think about you guys when I am flying. I just wanted to check in with you all, and see what you were getting up to recently. Hope you have all been making it through the pandemic okay, and I hope your holidays were joyous! Cheers Shadepiece

This is indeed excellent news! Wow! The WarBRD base was intended for desktop flying with out extensions. The T-50 was definitely always the go to for folks wanting an extension. I've had a lovely time dealing with Virpil and I really love their customer service and products, so I am definitely highly interested in this. The new extended desk mount is absolutely a must have in my opinion, because with the full extension the stick sits pretty high as is. Very exciting news indeed. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah I heard we might not switch back this year! That'd be excellent!

Hmmmm that's not great news. I really hope they decide to make some flight model updates eventually. -
First look at the Arras Map for Flying Circus!

You can just do destroyable static blocks in BoX. Not sure if they've added static WWI planes yet though. -
I was looking yesterday, and just couldn't find it.

Looking forward to it, Emely! You've always been one of the best pilots in the FiF skies.

I was wondering how you didn't see me! I approached from your direct 12, but as close to the trees as I dared. I kept waiting for you to push the nose down to engage, but you never did. I knew something felt off because, you couldn't maneuver very well it seemed. Would have preferred an even fight for sure, Emely! Thanks for sharing!

Shadepiece YouTube Channel Video Thread
Shadepiece replied to Shadepiece's topic in JG1 Videos & Screen Caps
First video here will be my newest First Outing video in the MiG-15bis! First Outing is a series that I am trying to develop that will be about early experiences in aircraft that I am new to. First Outing could mean first engagement even in single player like it is in this case, or it could mean first time taking a ride in a multiplayer server, but the common theme is that it's when I am still relatively new to the aircraft. Hope you guys enjoy!- 6 replies
