Baron got a reaction from wheelsup_cavu in Scores and Blue team Wen. TurnoutI recommend this campaign completed as it is. The changes are well considered before the start of the campaign, not during it. Regarding the transfer of pilots from red to blue team during the campaign from, I doubt that this is a good solution. Only personal view.

Baron reacted to Kliegmann in Europe in FlamesAfter FIF tomorrow, I would like to test the WWII tourney, EIF (Europe in Flames). Most of the pieces I have verified as working, so I want to load up a server with pilots and see what happens to the mission.
Things to test
1. At mission start each side has a "Destroy enemy building" icons located at intersections of 4 sectors (ie: 2204, 2205, 2304, 2305). This indicates a target is located somewhere within 1 of those four sectors. The side only needs to fly near one of the targets, then they get a message "Enemy target has been found", and the old icon disappears, and the true target icon appears. These need to be verified as working.
2. I need suicide, err, I mean dare-devil pilots, to attack an airfield. Each airfield has fuel depots, ammo depots, and a HQ base (almost ALWAYS located off base, near a nearby city). If you kill all the fuel depots at an airbase, the enemy pilots can no longer refuel at that base. Killing the ammo depots stops rearming, and killing the HQ no longer allows the pilot to heal their wounds.
3. The player ground war elements need to be tested as well.

Baron reacted to loopy in Post from JasonGuys,
I love ALL aspects and theaters of WWII. I would love to do them ALL assuming it was possible. My job is to create an achievable, marketable and compelling product that most current and new users would be interested in buying. I've diversified our product line a bit with FC1 and TC because as we keep moving forward, tough decisions on what or what not to build will become harder to swallow if your favorite theater isn't built. Deciding what to build is not easy. And deciding to not make something is even tougher because you know someone will be disappointed. A lot of planes are impossible to make flyable simply because we don't have the references or data to make them accurate or even close to accurate. I think the general public underestimates how hard it is to make a plane to our standards, and our standards, well visual standards at least, are not even as extreme as some other products are. Our other standards are quite high and some of the highest ever in a sim so don't take that the wrong way. And some maps are almost impossible to make too due to distances or just general lack of playability or lack of info.
I have a plan for our next product and if we execute it as I hope, I think it will pretty awesome. The current dev. cycle stretched our ability to the max. and we have endured many unforeseen delays and issues out of our control. It's not been easy. I hope the next round is easier. One of our team members recently was in a bad car accident, and now he has a hematoma on his brain causing us to scramble for the next update. Very scary.
Eventually we will need to build a new engine, when that actually happens is not necessarily known yet. I don't believe in building from complete scratch these days. The biggest work would be in the area of visuals and terrain of course and graphics in general. That part may be from scratch. Everything else would be an evolution of sorts. That is the safest bet for us to stay alive for a long time.
Jason
Will we get FC2

Not many others units can say the same - if any. The quality of our unit is evidenced by the fact that it has more than 20 years. That's my vote and I am very proud than I can be a part of this exceptional unit and can be with great people which are my friends.

Baron reacted to DeFreest Larner in A PresentSalute, all!
I have a little present for you all. Seeing as 1C have been painfully slow in releasing 4K templates for FC, I decided I would 'retexture' the old RoF templates to 4K standard. Now, I haven't 'officially' put this out for public use yet, but I thought that I'd drop it off here a little early
Introducing: The (un)Official 4k Albatros template!
The template comes complete with:
Completely new weathering to make the aircraft look like a real warbird! Retextured and recoloured wood, designed to match the Albatros on display at the RAF Museum, Hendon. Retextured and recoloured Metal surfaces, also matched to the RAFM's Alby. New textures to cover parts of the 3D model that didn't exist in RoF. Two interchangeable textures for the wings: 5-Colour Lozenge & Two-Tone Camouflage. Weathering folder's visibility can be altered for more / less weathering, depending on your tastes (Default is 85%). Edited Alpha Layer to eliminate reflective shine from wing surfaces. No Skinning expertise required. Just open it up in Photoshop and paint away!
While I was at it I decided to give you something a little extra, and prepared four extra templates with the historical markings of your individual Staffeln, so that if you decide to make any new personal paint schemes, you can jump right into a template with your Squadron markings already in place!
Jasta 4:
Jasta 6:
Jasta 10:
Jasta 11:
One last thing:
Unfortunately, I only have the file in .PSD format. I hope that's not a problem!
Owing to the new 3D parts of the FC model, the template can be a little tricky to paint up, simply owing to there being parts scattered all over the 2D image! I'll do my best to explain where all the new parts are here:

Baron reacted to Butzzell in New Game Exploit ?S! All
I put the question mark in the title because I have not seen this before. Someone else may have seen this and posted and I missed it.
We had an incident in Flanders in Flames. A pilot was close to an enemy airfield. He was engaged and his his plane became disabled. Not sure if it was loss of oil, fuel or bullet damage. The pilot was able to land at the enemy airfield. This was strange because the airfields are surrounded by AAAA, The AAA did not shoot at him. He was able to stay on the field and his rear gunner was able to shoot at enemy spawning in. The pilot was probably shocked that he was not being killed by AAA.
Some of his teammates entered the area. They were promptly shot down by AAA.
This is the first time we have seen this. The situation was examined and it was determined that the game does not see a disabled, shot down or crashed plane as a target. So you may ask, how many times is an enemy plane going to suffer a disabling event and still be able to land on an enemy airfield. In actual game play this is a very rare event, however.........it was pointed out that a pilot could get close to an enemy airfield and over rev his engine to disable his plane and then glide into the enemy airfield. I tested this and yes it works. The AAA spawns but does not shoot at a disabled plane.
I am not sure if BoX/FC works the same way but it probably does.
The result of all this is a new rule for Flanders in Flames:
"Refly Rules (Spawn Camping and Objective Camping)
Spawn camping and objective camping are not in the spirit of the Flanders In Flames tournament.
Any pilot who safely lands his shot down or disabled aircraft must "Finish Flight" and despawn as soon as possible. Sitting on the ground after being shot down, so that you can act as a forward controller for friendly aircraft, or position your rear-gunner to shoot at enemy aircraft, is unacceptable."
