  1. I’ve had the same problem since I got a new machine and haven’t been able to get it to work except using Steam VR. Maybe it’s something with WMR so I’m hoping when I eventually get my Pimax this will solve things.
  2. Nothing about EWR fixes so I’ll have to test and see. Otherwise this looks interesting: New route tool added for “select role” and F10 map view screens that allows users to edit flight plan waypoints before spawning. Check the more detailed guide here. Spotting Dots: Tuning and fix of blurring of spotting dots by TAA and DLAA. We are looking at the feedback and this change may improve some things. Current feedback is overall balanced and we will be looking further into this to make new adjustments.
  3. Always someone junior to you who’s anxious to move up
  4. Part of the mission I did in the AF we filmed these tests. Was pretty creepy watching these things come down, especially a MIRV (multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle) at night. A small glimpse at what the end of the world would look like. They have all these types of missiles on display here at the AF museum, including a full mock-up of an underground launch control facility.

  6. Got an answer back and was suggested to uninstall then reinstall Discord. Seemed to work ok tonight after I did this.
  7. What is OVGME? Also, from what I read if you use it you are stuck with only the basic skin?
  8. I’ve tried this and it still has problem. Opened ticket with Discord tech support.
  9. I'm having two problems that may or may not be related to each other. Sometimes I can get Discord push to talk working when I open DCS, other times it doesn't work unless I select discord as active window. The second problem is if I am in DCS and tab out of it to open another window, the cursor will quit working if my headset is on. If I pull the headset away from my face I can move the cursor around the screen in DCS. I am hoping I solved the second problem by following the advice here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/268089-frozen-mousepointer-in-vr-not-a-windowsoutoffocusissue/ However, the first problem with Discord is still there after following most of these steps (I haven't done the safe mode boot yet). https://windowsreport.com/discord-push-to-talk-not-working/
  10. I'd be happy to help if I can. However, I've been using this link Klaiber gave me to do text to speech with many diff accents and works very well. https://ttsmp3.com/ If you want a bit of fun, use the AI voice tab (I like Fable) and type in, "Hello. I am a dumbshit pilot and would be happy to teach you everything I don't know." It's hilarious.
  11. Update at 3:50. Not a lot new except they are still talking. They did apparently fix the issue with the M-2000.
  12. Turns out you do have to tune the Shrike depending on which SAM your are going after. Here is a video and a chart.
  13. Sorry I draw the line on praying to ED
  14. The F-4 is kind of a pig in a close fight. Here is the EM diagrams for the F-4, F-5 and Mig-21. Erhardt and I traded off going against each other F-4 vs F-5 and the F-4 is certainly less nimble and more difficult. F-4 max sustain turn speed M.08 = 10 degrees/sec and 5,000 ft radius F-5, M.08 = 14 degrees/sec and 3,700 ft radius Mig-21, M.08 = 13 degrees/sec and about 4,000 ft radius
  15. @Erhardt and I were planning on working some more on it later tonight for anyone interested around 2200 ET
  16. We are still working through it and I am only now getting to bookmarking and reading the manual (which, btw is the best DCS manual yet and more closely resembles a real flight manual than anything I’ve seen in DCS). We can cold start, takeoff and land plus have done a few easy engagements trying to work out the Fox 1’s. I was able to do some air refueling in SP and found it is not that bad and close to the real thing. The boomer does most of the work compared to trying to catch that drogue in the Navy planes. I recommend looking at the DCS chapter 9. They give some essential button mapping tips. They also have a lot of other good game setup tips like how to move and resize Jester, which I was having a problem with at first in VR. This has to be the best and most detailed module yet. I am impressed in how much detail and thought they put in to everything.
  17. The loadout capabilities are awesome and a bit intimidating. This is going to be a steep and long learning curve to fly. The F-5 was a great training prep airplane for it though. I'm probably going to try to train and practice in a methodical way similar to way pilots would in the real thing. Systems and cockpit familiarity, checklists, basic flying and maneuvers including instrument/emergency procedures and such before moving on to BFM/ACM and weapons systems. Air to ground will be a whole new and complex level for after everything else. Will also be interesting working with Jester. My thought right now is to try to set up voice commands to do some of this but will have to see how it all works when I get it.
  18. This should be interesting. However, from what I remember, the PDL lights under the tanker only came on once we had contact. Before that we used the yellow stripe and a Tacan antenna that intersected a black painted line across the yellow stripe for angle. This video implies the lights are on even before contact.
  19. That’s only the Navy guys who had too much grog
  20. Have no idea. But is the pronunciation correct or close?
  21. Perhaps you prefer “boooo, duh” . That’s always been my problem with languages. I would try to say something in Japanese or Spanish to a native and they give you this blank look like “wth is this guy blabbering and in what language?”
  22. It was bothering me and I had to look it up. I think I was pretty close according to this. Just needed to hang on that u a little longer. Certainly sounds a bit like Buddha to a clumsy and crude American gun toting cowboy https://www.howtopronounce.com/norwegian/bodø
  23. Keep them coming! I’m excited too.
  24. Sorry it’s been a long time and I couldn’t remember. I know it has a unique pronunciation.
