All, I am nearing completion of my Sinai Yom Kippur II PvP mission and thought I'd pass along my mission briefing so you can see it and start giving some input. It's almost ready for testing with the group (maybe in next week or two?). I am including here the general and the Red briefing along with a pic from the Red side at the beginning of the mission. Loadouts will be in general the R-60/R3R vs 9P/7E2. Su-25 and A-10A's along with other aircraft and helos are available. CTLD and CSAR are implemented and can be strategically implemented.

Maybe next they can strap it to a car. Wait, I think someone already did that 😅

@Erhardt and I have been working on the F-4 quite a bit. The Shrikes are a bit frustrating and I’ve tried direct, dive toss and lofting but find going in low and doing direct within 5 nm works best. Getting them tuned correctly has also been a challenge. I’ve got a gaming laptop also (MSI Titan) because I travel a lot and like to do mission editing from the hotel. Just ordered a Pimax Crystal Light to replace my HP G2 so will see how that goes. After this week I will be home for a couple weeks so let me know if you want to fly together. I have a Fox3 server and have custom scenarios like some IFR maps we can do some instrument formation flying and landings. Also a SAM training map.

I just sent this to my FO from yesterday. He had just told me a story about how he was flying with another capt who was over 40 kts fast and too high at 500 ft but forced the landing. The FO is new and young so he thought the capt must know what he’s doing so I had a big discussion with him about just this subject and that as an FO he now has the ability/right to call a go around himself and the capt is supposed to comply. Too many airplanes have run off in the weeds from that kind of crap. Plus the FOQA (black box) is going to tell on you and you’re going to at least get a call from safety.

This looks very promising and also looks much easier to use than LotATC. I think they are hoping to release it to general public/server owners in the next few weeks.

If I play Surgeon Simulator can I get checked out by a dr online so I can finish a surgery for him in case he passes out or something? We could have volunteers who get these certificates wait at hospitals in the event of such an emergency…..”I’m not a dr but I play one online” 😂 But seriously, I can’t imagine a crew ever doing this. Maybe, just maybe, they would call a jumpseating pilot up front to help, especially if they worked at same airline, but otherwise no. Jumpseaters have helped in an emergency in the past. An unknown passenger would not only be a potential security issue but a safety liability up there.

I’ve had the same problem since I got a new machine and haven’t been able to get it to work except using Steam VR. Maybe it’s something with WMR so I’m hoping when I eventually get my Pimax this will solve things.

Nothing about EWR fixes so I’ll have to test and see. Otherwise this looks interesting: New route tool added for “select role” and F10 map view screens that allows users to edit flight plan waypoints before spawning. Check the more detailed guide here. Spotting Dots: Tuning and fix of blurring of spotting dots by TAA and DLAA. We are looking at the feedback and this change may improve some things. Current feedback is overall balanced and we will be looking further into this to make new adjustments.

Part of the mission I did in the AF we filmed these tests. Was pretty creepy watching these things come down, especially a MIRV (multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle) at night. A small glimpse at what the end of the world would look like. They have all these types of missiles on display here at the AF museum, including a full mock-up of an underground launch control facility.

Got an answer back and was suggested to uninstall then reinstall Discord. Seemed to work ok tonight after I did this.

What is OVGME? Also, from what I read if you use it you are stuck with only the basic skin?

I’ve tried this and it still has problem. Opened ticket with Discord tech support.

I'm having two problems that may or may not be related to each other. Sometimes I can get Discord push to talk working when I open DCS, other times it doesn't work unless I select discord as active window. The second problem is if I am in DCS and tab out of it to open another window, the cursor will quit working if my headset is on. If I pull the headset away from my face I can move the cursor around the screen in DCS. Update at 3:50. Not a lot new except they are still talking. They did apparently fix the issue with the M-2000.

Turns out you do have to tune the Shrike depending on which SAM your are going after. Here is a video and a chart.

The F-4 is kind of a pig in a close fight. Here is the EM diagrams for the F-4, F-5 and Mig-21. Erhardt and I traded off going against each other F-4 vs F-5 and the F-4 is certainly less nimble and more difficult. F-4 max sustain turn speed M.08 = 10 degrees/sec and 5,000 ft radius F-5, M.08 = 14 degrees/sec and 3,700 ft radius Mig-21, M.08 = 13 degrees/sec and about 4,000 ft radius
