Vonrd Posted January 10, 2025 Report Posted January 10, 2025 Lots of predictable but funny responses... EDIT: It pretty much lost any relevance since the moderators at Reddit removed the illustration. Don't know why they did since it was completely inoffensive. Klaiber and Snaggle 2 Quote

I've seen Part 135 operations who never moved to electronic due to cost and paperwork needed for authorization as well as the cost of the devices needed. I assume that most Air Carriers and Part 135s have switched by now though. I seem to recall it used to be that going electronic was actually a change to the type certificate of the aircraft and was thus a Major Alteration requiring a Field Approval or STC. Otherwise, you still had to have the hard copies readily available, in flight to the pilot, even if using some form of electronic check list. I could be completely wrong though since this is under the operations side and my area of expertise was maintenance. Quote

Who actually reads physical papers vs e-readers/electronic/internet anymore? Our company has been notoriously slow for any changes and we finally were forced to go to iPads a few years ago because for one thing Jeppesen wasn’t going to support the paper charts anymore. The QRH (Quick Reaction Handbook) is both paper (plastic covered) and iPad. Vonrd 1 Quote
