S! All The ISP for JG1 is having some problems: "One of our (and Internap's) upstreams in Chicago, Cogent, has had two several-minute-long outages in the last 20 minutes that may be due to unannounced maintenance in the Cogent network. These caused connectivity problems to some customers who were being reached via Cogent. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will ask Cogent what is going on." This message is several hours old.

S! All We will be doing a preview of FiF XXIII this saturdayl We will be using the England map. This is a north south map with the Thames Estuary as no man's land. We are going to possible add some new objectives and some changes to a couple of the old objectives. The purpose of this is to add some variety to the objectives and some new challenges. First the standard objectives list. Central: Reconnaissance of hidden target Espion (Spy) Bridge Factory Train Trucks moving on a road ( 1 AAA truck and 3 trucks ) Artillery spotting Reconnaissance secondary Reserve unit ( Espionage secondary ) Front line unit ( Artillery secondary ) Entent: …

Congratulations to the Red Team for a well fought campaign. The official score keeper called the tournament a tie but you guys did very well on the Entente side. Many congrats for that, it was no small feat. I'm looking forward to meeting up against you in England where hopefully every target won't be by the patch of forest beside the river fork.

S! All This announcement is being made because of the present sale. People may want to pick up a few planes while they are on sale. FiF XXIII will be in England. This is the Channel map and yes, it will be all in England. The Thames Estuary is used as No Man's Land. This is a large map. Because of that we will be using some of the faster planes. Entente: SPAD 13, Sopwith Camel, DH4, HP400 Central: PD12, Maybe Fokker D7f, Fokker Dr.1, DFW,Gotha.

Hi All, Due to a number of rules violations, Session 3A (which was originally flown on Saturday, October 24th) will need to be re-flown. The new Session 3A will be held on Wednesday, October 28th. Session 3B will now be held on Saturday, October 31st. If people are interested in looking at the stats for unofficial October 24th mission, they can find them here: http://46.4.81.81/mission/11208/ Sorry for the inconvenience. Should anyone have any questions, please post below, or PM me. Thanks!

  8. Started by Shnoze Shmon,

It was a good day to start our offensive. After checking with my meteorological staff I was satisfied that conditions were right for operations. My flight command staff reported a suitable number of aircraft and pilots were standing by ready to go. I would have preferred more, but it would have to do. Now was the time. I gave the orders to execute the mission. As I strolled out to my ship, breathing in the cool morning air, anticipating the coming action, I was accosted by 70% of my pilots wanting instructions. They had not bothered to attend the briefing. So without the aid of those expensive maps and detailed descriptions I did my best to explain what was goi…

  9. Hi All, Unfortunately, Session 2A was cancelled tonight due to a mass disco. Normally, we keep flying when discos happen, as per our rules. But this one knocked out almost all of the aircraft on both sides, and acted more like a full game crash. As a result, all squadron reps present decided to call it. Session 2A will be run this Saturday instead. If anyone would like to see the stats from the cancelled mission, here is the link: http://fif.jg1.org/mission/427/ See you guys Saturday!

  10. S! All Major glitch was the Central side performed Spy mission but received no secondary target. This has not happened before. I checked all the parameters and they look intact. Not sure what happened. System overload and it skipped it? Still checking. Second minor glitch was that it was actually the program for session 2 not session 1. Same planes just the even map instead of odd. So, this week in NA we will run the second session, the even map. Saturday in Europe we will run the session 1 mission or, the odd map. We will be back on track at session 3. Stats for the Sat Oct 10 mission are not available. Hardy is checking the server. …

S! Those of you that have bombed the Artillery secondary targets, have had the thrill of seeing the moving horses and gun carriages. The moving horses was the suggestion of J5_Chunko. It looks great and does not add any extra load on the game. Many thanks !!

S! All JG1 Server is running the Tarnopol map. This is the map for FIF XXII. This is not the plane set that will be used. The planes here were done for other tests. This is to test Horses and wagons as a target instead of vehicles or tanks. Grab a strutter at Ankjzobov, southern Russian base. At the end of the runway is the standard buildings used for a target. Around the buildings are several wagons and horses. Kill any 4 and you get a target killed message. The server resets in 30 seconds.. The test is not so much killing the horses but also how well they can be seen from a distance. See what you think.

Congrats Blue! After an initial hiccup in the Saturday missions, you guys became the proverbial Steamroller racking up 10 after 10 points per mission! Well played! I hope that you all feel the same as me that the Saturday addition has been a success and should remain a permanent part of FIF. Salute to all participants! Vonrd

  19. Started by No.42_Hawg,

Hey guys I was mulling over the way this campagin ended and I have a suggestion for our follow on events. The current rules states; Victory Conditions: The first team to end a campaign phase (i.e. a set of 8 to 12 sessions) with 64 or more completed objectives is declared victorious. If neither team is able to end a campaign phase with more than 64 completed objectives, the phase will continue until a clear winner can be determined. Should both teams end a campaign phase with more than 64 completed objectives, the team with the higher total will be declared the winner. Should both teams end a campaign phase in a tie, additional sessions will be held until this t…

  20. Hi All, FIFXXIb has ended with a Blue Team victory! Congratulations guys! To celebrate, we're going to have a dogfight event this Saturday (15 August 2015). This will be in place of the normal mission night. The dogfight event will take place on a standard FIF map, complete with two-seater objectives. Just like always, it will be hosted on the J99 Server, starting at 6PM GMT / 2PM EDT. Everything will be just like a normal FIF mission. However, there will be no death and capture penalties, and it will be completely for fun. Come help us celebrate an awesome FIF campaign! Hope to see you there! ~Salut!~ -Klaiber

  21. S! all, I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone involved in Flanders in Flames for a great first tournament experience. - Thanks to the guys who let me fly their wing and were patient with me when I didn't understand some things. It was a pleasure to tag along, even if I didn't do much good. - Thanks to the guys who tirelessly put together all of our OPORDs and coordinated Red Team overall. Without you, we would probably have been a disorganized mess! - Thanks to my parents for making time for me to participate in this tournament. Love you both so much!!! - Thanks to the guys who taught me how to use some of these Entente planes that I wasn't famil…

Hi All, During Saturday's Flanders In Flames session (Mission #3B, flown on 1 August 2015), a few pilots took off prior to the official start of the mission. This is a violation of the tournament rules, and is the reason for this email. The Flanders In Flames rules can be found here: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/2216-flanders-in-flames-ruleset/ Please take the time to review them. Basically, no aircraft can take off until the mission officially starts. And a mission doesn't officially start until a green flare is launched from a vehicle placed at all active aerodromes. This happens 15 minutes after the server was launched. A minute before the green f…
