  1. I got it fixed. You want to know what I did? I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I denounce myself!
  2. Hi folks, I haven't been doing the flight sims as much. I have a trusty Thrustmaster X HOTAS I've been using for a number of years. Right now the symptom I'm having is that if I pull the stick all the way down (as in climbing) the input will drop back to the center once the full range of the negative y axis is reached. Positive Y axis seems fine. I've put a link to a video below. The calibration looks weird and I need to figure that out, but it's mostly the Y axis thing I'm worried about.
  3. Hello everyone, long time no see. I would like to plan on participating next weekend, 10/31.
  4. I went and saw it. Very unique film, obviously a labor of love. Very moving and sobering as well. It's very broad in some ways, and they didn't talk about battle specifics, but I believe the action described was at Cambrai.
  5. "Jocassee...Doing Balloon things" Called it mate
  6. I had a great time last night Gents. Thanks to Hotlead for reaching out and bringing me back in. I hope to keep on for a little while at least until #2 is born in January. From a tactical perspective, we suffered last night by splitting our second flight on the Foucacourt map between PDIII's and my single PD12. We could see the two seaters being shadowed by scouts at about 3.5-4, but I was the only one who could get up that high, and by that time everyone took their toys and went home. I patrolled for a while, deep in Entente lines too, but didn't see anything. Then Larner, I think, caught me at the worst possible moment of the entire evening when I was trying to enter a fight at Warfusee. Peeled my wings right off fair and square. That was a crushing disappointment but I think it will go smoother next time. As always thanks for 103rd for participating and being such good sports. Also, Talbot - you know. SALUTE JG1_JOCASSEE
  7. I feel like this needs to go in the canon of Quoteable Quotes of Dogfighting. Barton, like you, I have been experimenting shooting without the glass, looking over the nose of the plane. I find it quite intuitive, but I'm without TrackIR. I would say fully half my kills so far have been using no glass or half glass.
  8. I'm really excited about the release! Unfortunately I don't think those aircraft are even planned for release...yet.
  9. You and me and Mox could probably do an awesome Flight Simulator/Historical podcast.
  10. I had a great time as always. Thanks to my fellow ground attack pilots for flying into the storm of shot and steel with me. Salute!
  11. It's always a sad surprise when an Alb comes apart like that. It's a phenomenal bird, as long as the wings stay put. Ironically, I've also had an Se5 come apart with no visible damage. Enjoyed flying as always.
  12. I'm excited about Flying Circus. It's been refreshing flying BoS and seeing up to 60 or more people on a server. Totally different experience than ROF. Hopefully Flying Circus will draw the numbers.
  13. I splurged. Flew with Klieg for a few minutes this evening and chopped up a P40 in multiplayer. Very satisfying.
  14. By the way, listening to the twitch stream this morning, I realized the reason my mic was hot all the time was because I was feeding in the web cam mic. My normal headset is voice activated. So that's why you heard all that racket when I was typing etc.
  15. Great flying yesterday. That was the type of flying and teamwork I hoped for when I enter the ROF world.
  16. Glad to have you Shade. The filthy Frogs and the Amis are increasingly active in our sectors. More men means more guns. More guns means victory. Prost!
  17. Had a great time last night. I'm sitting at work banging stuff out while listening to the Twitch. I'm definitely looking forward to brushing up on my Scout flying and team flying skills. One major takeaway at Wargrounds is we really need to camp the targets close. I've made that mistake before and had to relearn it last night. You really need to be right on top of the target to prevent low level sneak attacks.
  18. Salute! Today Ewald and I spent some quality time together patrolling a bridge in our backfield. At the very end of the game, I ran out of fuel, and Ewald had to fend for himself while I fired flares ineffectually from the ground. The first FE bombs while Ewald closes in on the second. The racket of machine gun fire is deafening... Ewald closes the gap. 8mm bullets tear gaping holes in the FE's fuel tank and rattle the pilot. The first FE comes back around, lining up for another run. Then tragedy strikes! Ewald's EIII is in the path of a reckless FE2B! The second enemy plane, crippled by Ewald's unerring marksmanship, limps off to die. Salute, Ewald!
  19. Wow. I don't think I have ever seen that large a collection of running WWII hardware. Thanks for the photos.
  20. not realistic in the least but still looks like a blast!
  21. Hello all, Some of you know me already since I've been haunting Wargrounds for the last few months making a nuisance out of myself. So that you don't have to guess, the name is pronounced joeCASSee. It's a Cherokee place name, article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Jocassee A little bit about me: I am in the eastern timezone been flying with an ancient MS Sidewinder joystick, have a HOTAS on the way Have teamspeak where i regularly annoy people of this squadron no trackIR or similar fly ROF and IL-2 (old IL2) on a regular basis I get shot down by JG1 on a regular basis I would appreciate some formal instruction as I learn to fly with the HOTAS and want to know how to get the most out of my craft
  22. What time are we thinking for the test? I will try and attend.
