  1. Here’s my contribution/suggestions for the OPFOR
  2. https://sierrahotel.net/blogs/news/the-only-pilot-who-departed-in-a-mustang-and-came-back-in-a-focke-wulf
  3. Other things to watch out for/famous last words: "Hey watch this!" "What's it doing now?" (automation on)
  4. Came across this again and wanted to share.
  5. I’ve gotten on the WW1 server a few times solo just to check it out and def think we should try it as a squad practice sometime.
  6. Of course absolutely never NOT! And if I were to bust regs I certainly wouldn't want to put it out on video
  7. He looked to have busted a few FAA regs. Sure didn't look like he was 500 ft min altitude and well above 250 kts below 10,000 ft several times! Very cool though.
  8. That is just so wrong! Bad enough trying to read the altimeters and such on German aircraft and now this??
  9. 3,750/hr or 2,600 for a 35 min flight demo in back seat (non pilots). Pilots with 1,000 hrs and 500 PIC can get a type rating (doesn't list the cost but sure it would take at least 5-10 hrs flying?) http://www.jetwarbird.com/prices.html
  10. I just noticed that the ADI is totally upside down from a modern airplane. Usually brown is ground and blue sky is up.
  11. I wonder how much it would cost to do that?
  12. This always happens to me in DCS also, but not IL2. I just stopped using it in DCS.
  13. Not sure where you are, but this is red rural Ohio and we’ve been effectively out of lockdowns and mask wearing for nearly a year
  14. I’m about 45 min from there and planning to go this time. I could prob also arrange a tour for anyone interested of the maintenance hanger and B-767 at Wilmington. In fact, if anyone is interested enough I might even be able to get into a simulator. Problem is that they are pretty busy and not sure if they would have any time in the schedule. A few of you could always go in on renting it for 600/hr (which I bet could be stretched for extra free time as I know most of the instructors).
  15. World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous, Oct. 7-8 National Museum of the United States Air Force, Dayton, OH Aerial events, reenactor encampment, antique cars, workshops and a speaker series frame an exciting weekend of fly-ins from replica WWI aircraft. Sights, sounds and activities for the whole family will take place throughout the museum complex as we look back to WWI and America’s early air superiority. https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Upcoming/Events/

  17. I initially bought a lot of content through Steam but set up an account on the website later. I was relieved that I could purchase Vol2 and now at least have the airplanes available on Steam.
  18. I'm sure some already know this, but I just discovered. If you already have an account on the IL2 website, it should already be tied to your Steam account and you can purchase FC Vol2 and have access to the airplanes at least when flying through Steam. One way to check that they are tied together is to change your name/id on the website then open IL2 on Steam. If your new name/id appears in the game then they are linked. Another lesson: don't put JG1 in the squadron column, otherwise your name will appear double like mine was last night (JG1JG1_Flyboy) lol
  19. I was thinking about mounting my TM on the floor and getting an extension. A friend sent me this link - does anyone have recommendations? https://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/
  20. 1. EST 2. Thrustmaster Warthog with TPR and Volair sim chair, MSI i9 GE76Raider with GForce RTX 3080 3. Discord now with mic but can get Teamspeak if needed. 4. HP Reverb G2 5. DCS, MSFS, IL2 FC 6. Online search 7. My friend and I are interested in flying in an online squadron together. We both flew for the Air Force and are currently flying B-767. I was online with Jasta 9 about 20 years ago (Red Baron game). I drifted away but with the recent introduction VR it is a game changer. Flying the F5 in DCS with my friend doing formation t/o, maneuvers and landings felt like I was back in pilot training flying T-38. My favorite in Red Baron was DR1 and playing IL2 FC in VR is amazing.
