  1. I stood up in Elite Dangerous and looked around the cockpit (the pilot stays seated, though) and I went to grab the headrest of the seat to help looking around. However, it was the ED ship seat, not my desk chair, I swiped nothing but air.
  2. I definitely look forward to flying it, even in single player.
  3. Interesting presentation and Q&A about Deadstick here: I really like their approach to walkarounds and weight and balance issues with cargo loading.
  4. First I’ve seen this, I will own this!
  5. VR goggles are focused at infinity, so you farsighted fellas are fine. Us nearsighted bubbas have to do something, like inserts or wear glasses with the headset on.
  6. I am personally holding out until they release a wider FOV and higher resolution than the HTC VivePro.
  7. Try launching TrackIR as an administrator. Recently, I've had to run an FPS game as admin and that negated my hotkey to Discord's PTT unless I ran Discord as admin, also. Though these are two sets of different programs, the symptom is remarkably the same.
  8. My intent isn’t to stifle your ideas, Gen. What I mean is to bring your suggestions to the Gruppenstab, perhaps within the squadron-only forums or a PM, and let them either incorporate it into their plan, schedule it for another time, or whatever the case may be. Everyone within the squadron should have a voice and feel the ability to use it. It is how we will grow. However, the leadership is appointed to channel these creative ideas into a path forward that everyone can get on.
  9. Gen, Klaiber is suggesting that you bring this recommendation to the II. Gruppenstab and not make commitments before understanding their intent. Your idea has merit, don’t get me wrong, but decisions for official Gruppe practice times cannot be made by a forum post rally.
  10. For your initial certification, just stick with the one plane and learn how aerodynamics affect you floating through the air. If you make this part of your lifestyle, you’ll fly a variety over time.
  11. This^ I certainly do not prefer flying a yoke much anymore. The planes I regularly fly are the DA-40, Citabria, Decathlon, ASK-21, Grob 102, Piper Pawnee... and for my commercial, the Cessna 182RG. So 1 out of 7 have a yoke I absolutely love Austria! I had a fleeting opportunity to work in Wien for Scheibel Gmbh back in 2001, I flew their CAMCOPTER 5.1 for the US subsidiary for a number of months. I had spent 3 weeks in Wien writing the Operator's Manual and flying the helicopter, it was a pretty tough decision at the time. Wien is my second favorite European city to Nuremberg, though I still plan to visit Constanta for a vacation.
  12. I fly a DA-40 quite often and they do float a lot due to the high aspect, low wing but maintaining the approach speed is easy. It is a very stable and forgiving airplane and handling reminds me of the gliders that I fly. The only thing I don't like about the Diamond is the castoring nosewheel. It's harder to taxi than the MiG-21bis in DCS.
  13. All the overtime from this trip will definitely help swallowing the pill on these price tags. Guess $80 is becoming the new norm for flight sims (DCS: F/A-18 is also this price).
  14. The only guides I know of are for VR. Not saying there isn't one, just that I haven't looked for it.
  15. I use my HOTAS: Throttle fingertip hat for up/down/left/right Throttle thumb hat for forward/back Stick for pitch/yaw Throttle slider for zoom Throttle two way switch for tab select Stick 5-way hat for navigating and selecting the menus I do pretty well to not take my hands off, ever.
  16. Keep in mind, certain NDAs have been agreed upon and information may not be available, publicly.
  17. Moved to the public section so the public can partake in our beautiful paint jobs
  18. RoF in VR as beautiful as IL-2: BoX, has me sold, it is my primary reason for fully backing FC. I do hope, based on interest, they will fix the flight model issues that stand out in RoF with the income of sales. This reduces R&D on a whole new FM and instead, they can use the profits to fund new aircraft as well as go back to the ones that are wrong.
  19. I remember that game and yes, a lot like it.
  20. I saw this gameplay trailer a while back and noticed it was for consoles only at the time. Then, Twitch Prime gave the PC version of it to me for free a few months back and it is awesome. The 3/4 top down view is the gameplay, mostly using stealth and diversions to accomplish goals. If you have Amazon Prime then you already qualify for Twitch Prime (they're tied together). You can get some free stuff each month, such as older games or skins in new ones, as well as avoid ads on Twitch, if you're into watching other people play and being a part of their community. If you find a streamer you'd like to support, you can also subscribe to them for free for one month with Twitch Prime. Basically, you give the streamer ~$2.50 for that month but it costs you nothing in addition to what you already pay for Amazon Prime.
  21. Welcome to the forums! As mentioned above, our CO will send some emails to you but this weekend he is away on holiday. Please, be a little patient for the initial response.
  22. We are flying quite regularly on Coconut’s as well as Tactical Air War ( http://taw.stg2.de/). I’ll let the folks that normally attend these chime in but I can assure you, we would love the company.
  23. I have always been intrigued by Prepar3d but never could find a straight, how-to integration guide. If it’s that good, I may pick it up, myself.
  24. Between the two, the MiG is a more useful aircraft. However, the L-39 is a fun one to fly in training.
