Nope, but I really enjoy a lot of the banter between Goose and Maverick in the first one. I am constantly quoting the Truckmasters line. Mentor, for sure. I think she added a similar love interest that Kelly McGillis had in the first one and, more importantly, provided the same disconnected, level-headed advice, that "Charlie" did. Her being "Penny Benjamin" was just a nod back to that one scene referenced above.

The book this is out of, Kadena: Shogun Warriors of the PACA, was published in 1989 but that photo had to be several years earlier. My dad started flying for the Marines in '76 and I believe he was out in the early '80s, maybe '82?

That countryside is actually a low level range through the Cascade mountains in Washington.

They actually never name a country, though it's easy to assume Iran with the airworthy F-14. I really enjoyed it and appreciated some minute details of the F/A-18D/F that one would not catch if they weren't a fan of the DCS module or actual Hornet drivers.

I’ve been a fan of Razer headphones for many years. They have USB and 3.5mm plugs that come with USB sound cards (adapters). They have a wide range of quality, I’m using the BlackShark V2 because I’m okay with stereo on my setup and my wife has a wireless Nari Ultimate. I also use a Kraken for a long time with my laptop.

Oh, for anyone curious, the replacement and firmware update went well. I found the calibration tool for my slew modification and the throttle is back up and running. In other news, my Reverb randomly disconnecting has pissed me off for the last time and I've shelved it, going to my Oculus Rift S. With that, I will be able to stabilize my replay and hope to be getting back into streaming flight sims. If I get bored or WMR finally implements stabilization in it's mirror like Oculus did, I'll see about modifying the Reverb for a direct connection to the headset. I'll have to buy another VR headset for the wife's computer, but I think I'll go with a Oculus Quest 2, so it can be wirelessly enjoyed with other games.

I thought it was my workplace internet. Seems to be working, now. How about you guys?
