I'm going to blow off the white stripe on the helmet (or any other type of straight lines for that matter). As you can see, everything gets warped from the UV map to the 3D model. Not worth the struggle and suffering

What about the MiG-15 & 19? I think they are doable also. Any examples?

That's a great idea. I'll look into the uniform colors and patch locations. I would like to do something other than a plain white helmet. Examples? http://www.comtourist.com/images/large/speyer/speyer-zsh-3-pilot-helmet-01.jpg I think a "Tactical Moustache" is a requirement though...

I reduced the tint and metallicness of the visor. Worked on the helmet. I think I'll work on the Hip next so that I can look at the copilot and see myself. (Or maybe I'll try to use Snag's forum picture. Then I'll be able to see Snag in the right seat... ).

I've figured out how to individualize the pilots, uniforms and helmets. Yes, that's my face. If anyone's interested I would need a straight on looking at the camera portrait photo. If you just want a custom helmet without a photo that can happen as well.

This one's for Klaiber... "Think Pink"! East German MiG-21PFM No. 738 of the NVA and 22+25 of the German AF after re-unification, Serial #: 94A4301. It is now on display on a pylon at the Technik Museum Speyer, Germany and painted (as C993) in the (strangely fanciful) colors of the "Red Archers" display team of the Indian Air Force. Why the pink color instead of red which is what the "Red Archers" used and the incorrect colors of the roundel's and fin flash, I have no answer. I decided to keep the colors as they are on the museum's display aircraft. Submitted to DCS User Files and also here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/825lu5630ea6juj/Indian Air Force MiG-21FL C993.zip?dl=0

I found it. Had to scroll to the bottom here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\bin\win64\ below all of the folders. I opened the .exe and it brings up settings. "Force DX11 Mode" was off. I enabled it, restarted SteamVR and it's now enabled. That should be all I need to do.. right?

Next practice... turns around a point!
-
Agreed. Still, it has nothing to do with the wind except for the fact that the pilot is focused on a point on the ground (runway) and using that as a reference for how sharp to turn. Turns around a point is something we train on and, in windy conditions, it requires constant adjustment of bank angle to keep that point in the center of the circle at a constant distance. It can be very difficult to perform well.
-
#2. Never leave the ground with the motor leaking" Nobody would ever fly a radial engine powered plane then... "#18. If flying against the wind and you wish to fly with the wind, don't make a sharp turn near the ground. You may crash." This implies the fallacy of the "downwind turn". Of course, any sharp turn near the ground, regardless of wind conditions, increases the chances of a crash but it is due solely to proximity to the ground and the lack of altitude to recover from sloppy piloting. The "downwind turn" myth has been around since the beginning years of flight but it is purely myth. https://foxbatpilot.com/2014/06/17/the-myth-of-the-down-wind-turn/

FYI, in case you were unaware, there was an update recently: Member 87 Location:Check your six! Posted May 6 Tacview 1.8.8 is now available on tacview.net and Steam! Download: https://tacview.net/download Release Date: Fri, 6 May 2022 Operating System: Windows® 32-bit / 64-bit File Size: 599.8 MB I know, it’s been six months since the last update… This is because I am now focused on Tacview 2 development: Currently working the brand new 2D/3D Vulkan/Metal renderer which – ultimately – should offer much higher performance compared to Tacview 1. Don’t know how much faster yet, but the goal is to be able to display millions synthetic buildings and trees on the ground, so any action taking place low and slow (from tanks to helicopters), will have a nicely detailed debriefing. Meanwhile, in parallel, with the help of BuzyBee, we are continuing to update Tacview 1 content, fixing bugs, and developing news addons to help you with everyday flights as well as special events streaming. I still cannot promise any release data for Tacview 2, be assured that I am working hard on it! Happy flights! Vyrtuoz & BuzyBee FEATURES & CHANGES ADDED CTRL + mouse wheel to zoom in and out on charts Y axis ADDED objects colors can now be customized via Data-ObjectsColors.xml ADDED support for Cyan and Yellow colored objects ADDED support for DCS: AH-64D ADDED new DCS World Syria Map terrain and runways ADDED Mach number to X-Plane advanced telemetry ADDED terrain & data layers options for ARMA 3 (no data is yet included) ADDED support for grenades ADDED remote controls API for C++/C#/Lua addons ADDED Excel file import to the database builder addon ADDED Control Zone add-on to display control zone of selected aircraft (for dogfighting) ADDED Airboss add-on to display hits during real-time telemetry (later will display kills) ADDED support for radar range gate properties & display ADDED numerous entries to the database IMPROVED media synchronization when playback is paused and during online debriefing IMPROVED custom textures loading order is now the same as declaration order IMPROVED lag spikes filtering in telemetry charts IMPROVED X-Plane exporter is now using the most recent non leap year for current time instead of hardcoded one IMPROVED csv importer now sets object name based on the csv filename IMPROVED Korea & Balkans database and terrain for BMS 4.35.3 IMPROVED Terrain downloader addon by removing hardcoded path FIXES FIXED helicopter vs plane type detection for X-Plane 11.30+ FIXED anticipatory trail display during real-time telemetry FIXED beginning of speed curves in charts FIXED visual oscillations during scrolling of some charts curves FIXED flight-log names readability in some rare cases

On a whim, I decided to try using VoiceAttack for keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop and... IT WORKS! Now I just have to remember what I wrote as the command but that won't take long. It really saves having to release the pen or mouse to type the shortcut. I imagine you can use it for keyboard shortcuts in pretty much any APP / Program that has shortcuts (Most all do).

I looked through all of the DCS user files and couldn't find it. Surprised me actually. There is a War Thunder one though.

East German MiG-19S (Farmer C) of 1 Staffel/JG3. Pilot Htm Heinz Stammberger. One of two painted in a special scheme for the 5th FAI World Areobatic Championships at Magdeberg, GDR in 1968. Both aircraft crashed during training and neither flew during the championships. Note: Bort numbers are selectable. Wingwalker's 30-year Anniversary and Public WW1 and WW2 Servers

Thanks Craven! BTW, I think Moxy mentioned that he had the same issue. -
Working on it. Unfortunately, the Razbam template is (as typical) a POS. The fuselage was not properly UV mapped and any straight lines are curved, particularly in the nose where the fuselage constricts. This is understandable and part of converting a 3D object to 2D. What's annoying is that the left and right sides are different in the curvature. That's just sloppy UV mapping. No matter. I like a challenge and this is a cool skin! If you have any others, let me know.

Congrats to all Old Farts! Seriously, it's great to have been associated with the Walkers throughout the years. I just wish that I would have been there at the beginning. -
