In 2019 the IPMS held a contest on the Luftwaffe Museum Berlin Gatow. Below the link to the museum with lots of interesting aircraft and all kind of pictures, worth scrolling. https://www.flugzeuglexikon.com/Luftwaffenmuseum/luftwaffenmuseum.html

In 2003, I have seen that beast a couple of times on Eindhoven airbase, when we (NATO) used it to bring cargo to Afghanistan. I worked for a cell that handed out slots, routes and altitudes to all nations and companies who were bringing in stuff. Trick with its engines was (same for it's little brother) that it couldn't spool up the engines, that had to be done while running down the runway. Especially in Goma, Zaire (DRC) it was tricky as the end of the 2.5km stretch was a steep cliff down the lake Kivu. Most of the cargo A/C brought stuff and left nearly empty. The Il-76 was a racing horse compared to the An-124/225.

Really nice skins. I read that the commanders badge was overpainted because of some temporary order? To blend in with the pack?

The tail of this thread drifts away from the original question raised by myself. My mistake as well. Maybe we should cut the tail of this thread and start a Hardware advice thread anew if it doesn't exist already

Jet Seat (by Andre) is definitely a must have, if i was forced to choose between my VR and Jet Seat, I would let go of my VR. The Jet Seat makes you so much more aware of what your A/C is doing, stalls, stresses, trimming, but also minor damage by this 1 bullet in your left wing: "Oeps, AA around". Both in DCS and IL2/FC. Oh the fun when roling over the runway and you feel those rubber seams between the concrete slabs. I took the shakers out of the original seat and cut some holes in my game chair (seat and back). I use them now for 2? years, one vibration engine had its baring broken, I have now 2 new ones on my way for €17 (PP included). When they arrive its just a bit of soldering and he's good to go (the other is a spare in case of) The other thing I would recommend is the Point Ctrl, clicking, turning, switching knobs, buttons etc with either left or right hand just as you would do in RL, the earliest models had some build flaws but they become better and better. I only have to grab the mouse for the comms menu control.

Hello @Lipfert and any other collective users, after x-hours using the collective what's your opinion? Immersive-wise I think it does it's work very well, but does it makes handling a helicopter a lot or just a bit easier than with a split throttle?

Thank you Vonrd, well done all, and I'm very happy with my own crate !

I finally found (=made) the time to calibrate the finger taps. Awesome. Very happy with the result, reach out your hand L or R press one of the buttons on the FCU to activate a switch, dial, button etc. More immersive and a lot faster than a mouse. As an extra I have on the mask 2 rows of 3 buttons which are connected as QWE-RTY and can be bound as a key. I haven’t tested it yet in SC.

Firefly, maybe worth looking at this video: and maybe have a look at a PCI Express M.2 PCIe SSD-adapter (if you have PCI slots left). I'm just a user, and need the knowledge of others to draw a conclusion. Read and write speed is not only the SSD dependent, it's also how the motherboard handles the slots/lanes. A very fast card in a 16x slot where the MB reads x4 will not give you the speed you might expect.

Used the colouriser from myheritage on the top photo: Some colours don't come out right, the cocarde should be like this in mirror view as it is on the right side of the A/C:

Today I was going through pictures from the past with my mother. She came up with this one: Encircled: my mother, her mother and siblings next to her. On the back of the picture was written: "Plane crash Groenlo, august 1933" (translated). I couldn't find details of the crash yet. I think this is a Fokker C.VI from the LVA (predecessor of the Dutch Air Force). The LVA had bought 31 of this type. The designation C.VI is used by LVA for the lighter version of the C.V-D. The deliveries will take place from 1925 with registration 590 to 608. Furthermore in 1926 the 609 to 615 and in 1928 the 616 to the 620. All supplied with the lighter Hispano-Suiza motor of 350 hp. Except for the 619 and 620, because they are equipped with the 380 hp Amstrong Siddeley Jaguar engine. All still useable C.VI A/C are in 1934, converted into C.V-D, with the 450 hp Hispano Suiza motor. Many of the C.VI scouts are still employed in May 1940 during the invasion of the Germans in the Netherlands. Above the 619 or 620 with the NACA Streamline hood at Soesterberg airfield. Below the 620 without the NACA hood The aforementioned 619 is also involved in the short war by SGT Vlieger A.van Liempt. On the 1st day of the invasion May 10, 1940, the 619 takes of from Ruijgenhoek airfield, flies to the Navy airfield at Valkenburg for an attack. On May 11, a reconnaissance on the Grebbeberg between Ede and Arnhem. Then May 12, a bombing flight on the Delft-Rotterdam highway, followed by a reconnaissance flight over the Wons-line in the North. Finally a bombing flight on the Grebbeberg. Liempt is brought down by a Bf109. Yet, he manages to make an emergency landing around 7 pm. There he's caught by the Germans and shot, his observer/gunner T. VRINS is made prisoner of war.

To have a correct view you probably will have to set the resolution of the IL2 screen to the same or larger than the resolution of your VR eye (L or R). Will test this tonight.

From the 4.702 Changelist and possibly handy for VR users in recording or print screens: #28. Added parameter for VR: or_render_eye = 0 [-1, 0, 1] to startup.cfg. If set to -1, only the left eye camera will be shown on the monitor in VR mode, and only the right eye view if set to 1. If set to 0 it shows both eyes. Heinrich: "In the game, go to Settings -> Camera-> check the Limit VR view box. That gives you in the startup.cfg an new line in the [KEY = graphics] section: or_render_eye = 0 This line can be changed to -1 for the left eye screen, and 1 for the right eye screen. On your monitor will appear just 1 single screen instead of the double view as in VR."

Started today with OBS. I've watched the video by Col Ninny about creating videos. I've no intention to stream, it's sometimes a usefull tool to use in a debrief. TacView makes it more distant and away from how it was/felled.

I was trying to shorten a long fight record into the necessary part. If I go to the flight record and choose 'EDIT', I see nothing with what I could edit the track. I made the record while flying in VR, could that be a reason? I can watch it without VR as a normal video, but also then (without VR) I can't edit anything. Anyone out here with a good advice?

Hello Baron, welcome back, I'm one of the newer tenants in this building (mid 2013). I'm on the European floor. I like this building a lot, and the current landlord is doing a terrific job.

Thoughts On Rudder Pedals Vs. Twist Rudder?
Heinrich replied to TedsOnMeds's topic in Public Discussion
My route was: Trustmaster Elite, Saitek Combat, MFG Crosswind to VPC Ace Flight. The Crosswinds are good but to much force needed to my liking, I was pushed back, from the stick, unless I put chokes behind the wheels or strapped the chair to the wall. Now with the VPC no problems anymore, they are very heavy and stick well to the floor. NB The Crosswind can be fitted with a hydraulic damper. I know @Greif has them installed, no idea what this upgrade brings.
