  1. All, JG1's leadership has decided to postpone the upcoming FIF campaign. It will not start this weekend, and a new date and time have yet to be determined. The current war in Ukraine has affected several people within JG1. And it is also immediately affecting many of our friends in other units who live in Central and Eastern Europe. During this uncertainty, we think it's important for people to refocus their weekends on taking care of their families, friends, neighbors, and themselves. FIF is meant to be a distraction. And it will continue to be that. Everything is in place for a restart. We have the map, the aircraft, the squadrons, and the teams. We just need a time when it feels more appropriate to focus on fun. We hope you understand. Should anyone have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

  16. Randomly ran into this. As a big fan of David Bowie's Electronic period (Black Tie White Noise / Outside / Earthling), I thought this was an excellent cover of I'm Afraid of Americans. The band is Bones UK.
  17. I have not grabbed this version, in favor of the second one. Just FYI.
  18. All, I'll be online tonight to fly DCS. I should be online around 9 PM EST to work on the MiG-21bis. Anyone is welcome to join.
  19. Looks great @Chewie! Note, I changed the name of the skins to: v_!_JG1_PfalzD3a_Chewie.dds So, no space between Pfalz and D3a. It will go into the pack that way. Also, I'll be posting a new skin pack this weekend. If you have anything else in the pipeline, let me know. I can hold off until Sunday night.
  20. LazerPig is great! He has some really good information with an interesting perspective. He did a great video on the Fighter Mafia, how much of a douche Pierre Sprey is/was, the A-10 and Alexander Kartveli's forgotten contributions. Here's the A-10 one (again NSFW): Highly recommend.
  21. Very nice work Vonrd! These look awesome!
  22. Hi Gen, You can definitely have the emblem on both sides. Having it on one side (the port side) was a stylistic choice to match historical aircraft. As that's how pilots tended to enter the cockpit. But I have Igantz all over the place and on both sides.
  23. Thanks, Gen. Since we don't have any policy regarding the Allied paints, I didn't have any comments and just accepted them "as is." However, since we have policies regarding Axis skins, I've noticed some issues that I wanted to highlight for correction. We're only accepting one skin per German aircraft at this time. I would pick the summer version (as we're not a Nachtjagdgeschwader) and submit that one alone. Also, just in case you have some planned, we're not doing winter skins, as that's an Eastern Front thing. (Brit's correct) Your vertical stabilizer should be clear of the Hakenkreuz, even the hollowed-out version you're currently using. Since the Bf 109E is an early to mid-war aircraft (circa 1940 to 1943), it must display the Tatzelwurm, which you have. However, it cannot display the JG 1 "Oesau" winged "1" emblem, as that's 1943 to 1945 marking. Additionally, the Tatzelwurm and the winged "1" should never be used together. It would be one or the other. I would give it a cutout since the Tatzelwurm is yellow on a yellow cowling. Like this historical example from I./JG 3: Ideally, try and get the Tatzelwurm to be the same yellow color as the cowling. Ground crews would use the same colored paint for both, hence the cutout. Regarding the naming structure, please match what is already in the pack. So, your new skin would be v_!_JG1_Bf109E-7_GenMarkof This ensures that it replaces the old skin.
