The REFORGER Kola map has TACAN's noted on the ATO. I asked Rohr if he could translate them to RSBN but he doesn't have a clue. @Klaiber and @Flyboy do you have any ideas if it's possible to translate TACAN to RSBN or if it's possible to have both at an airport?

Sorry that you missed out! I think Entente was organized only a day or so before the event without much in the way of clear instructions. Entente did a pre event briefing on the Ad Astra discord but you had to contact Gardimus to get permissions for the channel. The actual event had comms on Flugpark but, again, I think you have to have specific permissions. You should contact Baeumer and Gardimus in DM. It would be more certain of a positive result than me trying to act as a go between.

Would anyone be interested in an Airbnb? I've always had excellent experiences. It's usually an actual house and not some anonymous corporate Helltel. There are a bunch in Dayton ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms and the price is competitive with the hotels.

The arty spotting is working fine but the results were not very impressive. When I finally adjusted the fire to be on target (against a Tank group) I was only able to achieve one kill. I think the quantity of rounds in "fire for affect" is 20. According to Google AI, a D-20 152mm battery (which the Egyptians should have had at the time): A Russian D-20 artillery battery, comprising six guns, could potentially fire approximately 30-36 rounds per minute at its maximum rate of fire, with each gun firing 5-6 rounds per minute. Could you increase the quantity to 30 and maybe increase the splash circle? Maybe twice as large. What size gun is the artillery?

In response to the basics of Kermit's post (and particularly Mil(f) Sim. In my opinion it's the age old dilemma / balance of enjoyable gameplay vs complete realistic historical accuracy. How many people would choose the Iraqi side in an event duplicating the First Gulf War, particularly as an airman? You would have absolutely NO chance to even complete a sortie let alone accomplish any mission. Your only choice is to bug out to Iran. I doubt that we will ever see a DCS event based on the Gulf War unless it's PVE with everyone on the Blue side. (Maybe it's been done... I'd like to see the after game comments if it has been). For Flyboy's event it makes more Gameplay sense to give the helicopters and several Redfor aircraft the limited opportunity to be able to hide in the weeds for, at least, some part of their mission. With historical all seeing radar and data links they become just fish in a barrel. The same could be said regarding Blue air forces but Blue has the advantage over Red especially in onboard radar. I think it makes a more enjoyable event if the pilots are given some opportunities to play cat and mouse.

You had proposed using LotATC for GCI. Maybe that would solve the issue? The problem is who has and is competent in LotATC. I have the full version but am not currently competent. @Snaggle is competent but is he available? Any others?

I think that, for NA anyway, It's Moxy (depending on his availability on the day of event), Maus, Gabby and myself. Some of us will be attending a DCS event on April 12 instead of BA. As of present, we've been assigned Entente.

I think that I might have quoted the Bloody April times incorrectly. The Briefing starts at 19:00 UTC (which is actually one hour past the normal FIF time. For me in Pacific current time, it's Noon). There isn't a defined mission start time. It starts once the Briefing is finished.

I can't imagine anyone thinking that using Jumo 004s for flight is a good idea. Not only the reliability issue but the rarity and historical significance should negate this idea. Even just ground runs. It would be a shame to grenade one one of those. CJ-610s (used on the smaller Learjets) on the other hand (I think that all of these replicas used that engine) are plentiful and super reliable. EDIT: I just watched Wheels' video of the run-up and apparently they were Jumo's. I still think that it's a bad idea but it's great hearing that sound especially the "chainsaw" APU engine in the nose cone for spin-up! Also, the first video states that there is no intention to fly the Paul Allen aircraft.

I was heavily into slope soaring and F3B until getting married in 2002. Now all flying is virtual. I do miss it some but now, at least, I don't worry any more about destroying things that I had poured lots of $ and effort into.

Looking at "Mission Goal Points" structures would be part of the Munitions Factory, North and South Bases, and Comms Center. Is that correct?
