I might not make it due to F***K**G work this week. Either post pass here or PM to Lipfert. Thanks

Well... Boeing is trying but not sure if it's going to go through...
-
Our shop manager is going to be at an Embraer conference all this week so I'll be covering his job as well as mine (shop foreman) so I can't guarantee that I'll be available to participate this week. So, training, Wing Walkers etc. will hopefully be covered by others if I can't make it.

I just posted this on WW forum: Consensus of JG1 pilots is that we all had a great time! Per Spardog: Is it still Wing Walker's training strategy to have us fly as a coordinated unit? To eventually be able to join an online server as a squadron and be the squad to "fear"? Well... that's our mission too Fear the JG1s!... (Yeah, we're not there yet but getting better every session). To that end I would humbly suggest that the map size be reduced in order to increase the likelihood of having more engagements. I'm not sayin "Airquake" mind you. Just that the more engagements the more opportunity we both have to hone our air to air, escort and ground attack while under duress. If we continue to have adequate numbers and with a smaller map, perhaps the AI could be reduced or eliminated? You recently said that Danger Dogs might join. Is that still a possibility? Any other squads that we might contact? The more the better but still keep it a closed / invite server IMHO. By the way, JG1 Kleigmann has been building a map for what we hope will be a future "Dead is Dead" tournament. It's in the final testing stage and really needs a stress test. We've been testing it right after FIF on Saturdays at about 13:30 PDT so if any WWs want to join in we would most happy to have y'all there. If you need the JG1 TS info and the server password just give a post at the JG1 forum or send me a PM. And... you're all very welcome if you would like to get back to old times and fly in FIF. Great time guys... Thanks!

I just got home from work so I'll be a bit late

Let's practice up on the Russian planes guys. I would suggest the Yaks, IL2s and PE2s, (and P40 if you think you can manage it's energy well). The Yaks are probably the easiest planes to fly of the BOx plane set... really hard to blow the engine. Keeps energy well in turns, good down low. Just maneuver to deny the 109s / 190s the "boom" and wait for an opening when they get frustrated and try to saddle on 6:00. The IL2 is tough and maneuvers pretty well, carries respectable mud and the 37mm guns rip any German tank and you can load rockets along with the guns. Visibility sucks to the side unless you keep the canopy open. PE2 is fast, maneuverable and has deadly AI gunners. Don't forget to bind a key to "Wheel Brakes"... toe brakes don't work on Russian and British planes... default key is slash (fwd).

Got it... thanks Craven. I'll be setting it up. No guarantees that the other JG1s will have it done though. Guys, check this out and implement before we come in on Tues.

There are also less expensive head trackers such as Freetrack (it does require some handyman fiddling to make the IR device headset. I know at least one member that uses it. Google "headtracking"... here's a list of devices: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/3lb2x1/head_tracking_options_roundup/ I can't attest to any of them but TrackIR and agree with Luftritter... I wouldn't fly without it.

How are you guys setting up your comms? It doesn't seem like you're doing whispers but somehow jumping channels. Can you post instructions?
-
You still can't see the skins unless we're flying in Mods Off mode.
-
Thanks Lipfert!

Thanks Geezer! I'm really hoping to make it. All JG1 pilots... in case I don't make it (looks OK at this time... work calendar doesn't look too bad) would someone please coordinate attendance. Note: Icons off!

Bravo!

Those of us who have flown with the Wing Walkers on Tuesday night all agree that it's a lot of fun and I encourage other BOx pilots to join in. JG1 has a long history with WW and I think it would be mutually advantageous to re-kindle that relationship. Both squads have a lot to learn from each other and both have experience with tournament play. So, join us on Tuesday night. Since this is in the public forum I'm not posting their TS addy but it can be found in Oesau here: http://forum.jg1.org/topic/5499-wing-walkers-tues/ Here's Geezer's last correspondence with me: We are running the first of what I think will be a long term campaign using PWCG ( Pat Wilsons Campaign Generator). The server will be password protected because it is a straight up COOP with flights and assignments. Will probably run this type of mission once a month Any JG1 folks are welcome to join, we are all flying from the German side. I can post the map and password here if that is what is most convenient Tuesday Jan 30th 6:30 Pacific ( 6:00 warm up)

Every time I hear the guitar intro I can't resist doing "Air"
-
THIS! Almost makes feel like I could actually play guitar... (fat chance though ). I can play instruments that don't require the use of two hands... trumpet, bone, and... yes TUBA!).
-
Regardless... lovely voice. Thanks for turning me on to her.
-
Holy shit Raz... thank you. I've always liked flamenco but I wasn't aware of these guys.
-
Watching the finger work of the guitar got me to thinking about Sierra Hotel guitarists. Who do you think fit the category? (There, of course, can't be a BEST!, but there are quite a few that dazzle me). This guy may not be one of the obvious picks but give it a listen and check out more of his work: Certainly I have more candidates but I'd like to hear your picks.

Thanks Lip. I like her voice (but too much reverb in Planet Hunter IMO, couldn't understand the lyrics). This one has a sort of Cranberries flavor:

Another one silenced way too young...
