  1. I don't know Guys For me every log file has errors even after a recovery. Missing files, encryption errors, sound engine errors. dds object errors They also changed the start up config file, so no more color tweaking (unless hidden) Can someone check me on this Mox Something aint right. Update: 3 recovery installs and I got it down to 1 sound error, so that's internet transfer. Clitchy from the server? but the sound error is persistent.
  2. First words? little spies[/img]
  3. Gents Yesterday, I got the chance to set up my tent, and my projector. The results were interesting. As I suspected, the image stretched. (of course) Dependent on the curvature of the screen (tent) and distance of the projector. But... Really no more than a 3 screen set up. One of the things I paid attention to was the washing out of detail (as we depend on a single pixel) Since I'm using film, my observations are not conclusive. But I was surprised, that even with my tent being camo green, I was able to pick out very minute details. As raven pointed out, rear screen projection will reverse the image, Also the tent seams created shadows (as can be seen also on the real set up) So this got me to thinking....a dome, as ambient imaging to the monitor. Using forward projection to a dome above the monitors. (This might be possible in eyefinity) Obviously, I think this is pretty kool. I can see potential. Perhaps, a business in the adult industry. And 3d! (LOL) Mox
  4. Yea big (LOL) Check six??? Or would it really be 12? You'd see the image as 6, but your flying forward to a backward camera. (lol) Software or a lens. How fun! Mox
  5. Heidi I have no idea how to turn Norton off. Somewhere in its control panel, or you could use clean boot (this should turn it off) as we've previously discussed. I also use Avast, and have since I received my 1st computer. As Britch mentioned it has a "silent gaming mode".....Personally I dont use that mode....I just turn it off. It has options for how long. like....10min, 1 hour, reboot, or till you turn it back on. But if you really want to find out if this is your problem. Be on early tonight. well clean boot and see how you do. Mox
  6. Well at least the screen as a test prototype. Looking around the net, a cheap rear screen material is shower curtain liner. And ironically one of my tents, is a dome of approximately the same diameter. So using my tent as a pattern and its fiberglass poles. I should be able to create a screen in a couple of 3 hours. I have and old slide projector. to shine an image. My curiosity on this, is the distortion and stretching of the image. I just cant believe, a single projector, will give acceptable results without a convex lens or software to compensate for the curvature of the screen. Il try a preliminary test tomorrow. Just shining an image on my tent itself. If the results look promising, Il make the screen. Mox
  7. Ive been laughing for a while, cause of the pilot head movement in rof. If it also works for a co-pilot/bombardier/rear gunner. "Stop staring at me!!" Mox
  8. Hot fix is out Mox
  9. Thanks Spies Im a bit confused here, although I know il2 has the 3 render in the conf ini . that's not how evefinity produces the wide screen (as far as I know) The 3 render thing is for things like triple head to go. Maybe Envida Im just not sure. Ether way it has no effect on my system. Certainly I could be wrong. Well at least it gives me something to research. Thanx Mox edit: I did a little research. the 3 renders in IL2, produce the 3, at a 3x4 res. Eyefinity produces 2 res. of desktop, 1 full, 1 smaller. So if I understand it correctly, this is for the triple head to go software. Or outboard like systems. Mox
  10. Ive been running tests on this. And it does make aircraft visibility seem correct! Im seeing aircraft (in my mission) all over the channel, and correctly proportioned No over sized dots, and at a distance they look like airplanes! But........................................ The thread has died down, indicating to me the stuttering associated with this, is too severe! Obviously its in the config. for a reason and turned off. Weather this is meant to give the proper rendering, and is un-optomized or for some other reason. It doesn't seem that's its a "holy grail" to solve this problem at this time. I to have noticed, extra stuttering with this on. But for just flying around, seeing the aircraft correctly? Has out weighed the stuttering. But of course, any stuttering, is unacceptable for competition combat. The biggest improvement I got from the last patch, was a complete "re install" I mean absolutely pristine!!!!! Comparison between old (up dated) and the new install showed several file differences, not corrected by the "integrity check" . A lot of work (6 hrs), joy stix, sound, re-config etc. all for better results over the old up dated install, and I did consider my old updated install "clean" IMO, "Clean is good" But.................. Mox
  11. I did 1 flight with it on. And It works. As far as the aircraft not disappearing up close, do a 360 and there...there. I also could see aircraft all over the channel. The forums, are talking that this induces stutter. and the guy that found this, found it because of config ini file version comparisons (he just tried it!) Dont know, 1 flight is not anywhere near a good test!!!! Yea it changes the rendering, But.......... Mox
  12. Sorry the tecno in me Mox In computer graphics, accounting for level of detail involves decreasing the complexity of a 3D object representation as it moves away from the viewer or according other metrics such as object importance, eye-space speed or position. Level of detail techniques increases the efficiency of rendering by decreasing the workload on graphics pipeline stages, usually vertex transformations. The reduced visual quality of the model is often unnoticed because of the small effect on object appearance when distant or moving fast. Although most of the time LOD is applied to geometry detail only, the basic concept can be generalized. Recently, LOD techniques included also shader management to keep control of pixel complexity. A form of level of detail management has been applied to textures for years, under the name of mipmapping, also providing higher rendering quality. Ahhhhhhh that explains it. EDIT (lol)
  13. Many improvements, smooth, only had 1 flight! 110 drivers, 4 fuel cocks, had a hell of a time starting #2 Watch out for that blown governor sound Mox PS clear that cache
  14. Hey Jim Concur with Britch, if its a tiger direct "bare bones", TD will have the motherboard in their catalog. And in its specs, it will say something like Ethernet connection. Jim to be honest, today I dont know of any "common" motherboard, that doesn't have an Ethernet built in! But are you talking the "internet" connection or a "cable" TV type? If its a "cable" TV type, for cable TV.... then 99.2% on a "barebones" kit you'll probably need a TV tuner card. Hope this helps Moxy
  15. Yes testing now! clear your cache before install! Mox So far lighting and sound are different. Sound has more ambient's and the lighting, imo is more realistic. Some neg's... I seem to have lost some of my "things" on my mission checking the fmb now (this could be a concern for our server) weather its my machine or not not cant tell yet. game runs about the same, no dramatic improvements that I can tell
  16. Its out. Mox
  17. Hess Yea your video card is low. But you should be getting better numbers out of what you've got. Moxy
  18. Hey Guys. If it would just remember my name, so I didnt have to type every time, that would be fine. I use firefox. do the 2 not click that way? or is it some kind of setting. That would be nice. Hey, the new/turned on editions, are starting to gel. (please not trying to hijack) Mox
  19. Joking!!! My comment, is on the excellence of the work. Besides whats in a number, but your own Mox
  20. I was going to rearrange the squad numbers, but after "the kick arss paint job you did" that would be a crime! Magnificent. Mox
