  1. Oh man that sucks. Would you like me to sent the CH stick back to you? I'm not using it. I can do it next day if you want.
  2. Anybody else bothered by the "Hick" breathing (if that is what it's supposed to be)? BTW, reliable sources have said that Tues is the day. I'm going to delete my "Updates" folder just in case. Last update it was a problem.
  3. I will try to work that in... but don't hold your breath . Got lots going on in RL right now and also working with a consensus with other skinners. The bombers are a mess and need a major upgrade. They're not a high priority for me since we don't really fly bombers in close formation much and the skins aren't really needed for ID and SA. Oh, and BTW... this thread is really for posting of skin updates. Requests and discussions should go here:
  4. Heinrich, The purple in the DVa and the blue checker in the PD3 are a bit too bright. Yeah, BOS is really difficult in getting the colors to render properly. I'm working on making a sample color pallet as a reference to get the colors to render better but they do vary from plane to plane (and even within the plane template... some areas render lighter than others. It's how they have done the overlays and baked shadows. It takes a lot of trial and error and is a real pain in the ass). If you want to make any changes I can do it as an update. Not required though. Bottom line... nice skins!
  5. White tires? Yeah, I know they existed... carbon black not added. Are you going to keep the general scheme as white? I think you said something about changing it to render as gray. Still... I really like the "Yellow Wave" as your defining graphic. It will work really well for SA. Oops... this should probably be in the skins discussion thread... Klai... move it?
  6. Sierra Hotel! Will add to the next update... do you want this added to the Black Sept for this last week?
  7. Grand paw paw!
  8. Happy Birthday to your girl!
  9. Klieg's campaign is getting really close to being ready. What he needs is numbers of pilots to test the mechanics... one or two pilots is just not enough. Please show our support for his hard work in our behalf and attend the testing tonight (if it's still happening... Klieg? Are we still on?).
  10. It's a good idea Gen, however Wed night is normally dedicated to testing Kliegmann's campaign and, IMHO we don't want to abandon that in favor of Wing Walker's. I think that Klieg will confirm that it is getting very close to being viable but numbers of pilots are needed to test the various missions mechanics.
  11. I would prefer not to update the original. It takes too much time for the zip to generate and there's always the possibility that I'll screw the pooch doing it. All updates are just that... "updates"... I will keep them up on Dropbox with a dated folder. (Once I tackle the bombers though and get that straightened out it will probably need another "Full Monty" and everyone will have to delete the installed JG1 files. This will be the new original file. I'm not actively working on it at present though). So, if a newcomer wants the complete JG1 skins, he / she (we can always hope that we'll eventually get a "she" ) will have to download the original and all the updates. The updates will be relatively small and quick downloads.
  12. FC skins updated. Luft, Heinrich, Goat and Larner's historical JG1 ADVa. File: Flying Circus - JG1 9-12-19 [link removed] This is in the OP above.
  13. Skins added... Luft, Heinrich, Goat and Larner's historical JG1 AD5s... See official skins thread.
  14. Really nice skins guys! I'll get these and some new skins from myself into an update zip in the next few days. Sorry for the delay.
  15. Check out the monitor!

  18. Oh, I'd enjoy blowing sh*t up with a Brisfit!
  19. Incorporated into BS skinpack: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/53614-skins-for-black-september-iv/
  20. I just had to get in on the game
  21. Any possibility that the max pilot numbers will (can?) be increased?
  22. What is everyone's preference for naming bombers and attackers which use a letter code? This: ! JG1 He111H6 Smr Red E Or with the pilot's fighter number (which may be easier for everyone to remember): ! JG1 He111H6 Smr Red 11 Both are Lipfert's. Whichever we choose, the bomber/ attacker skins will have to be deleted, then the new skins loaded. Overwrite won't work because of different file names.
  23. I sure do wish that we had converted to metric. It would have meant that I would need only one set of sockets and wrenches... Another gripe is "British Standard"... what an oxymoron... nothing standard about it and requires another set of tools. Whitworth tools can be difficult to identify. For example a 1/4W wrench is the same size as a 5/16BS (British Standard) wrench, and it is .525 inches across the flats, or 13.34mm. As you can see, there is no inch or metric wrench of this size. Only a Whitworh size wrench will fit properly! Please measure for your application before ordering Whitworth tools.
  24. Very nice Heinrich! Are these finalized versions? I will add them to the next FC Skinpack update. One slight thing... the CL.2 might be a little dark. Are you using my template? (I don't believe there is an "official" one out yet). I probably have the "tint" or "multiply" layer too heavy. You could try reducing opacity on one or both of these layers. I continue to struggle with getting the colors right so that they are not too "vibrant" or too dark. The skinviewer doesn't render them accurately and having to restart the game and wait for it to load a mission for every change is a time suck and gets tiresome. Larner sent me this and these seem to work pretty well: Hi Vonrd! I've been meaning to get in touch and share some tips I've discovered in achieving 'natural' colours for FC skinning, but up until now it's totally slipped my mind When doing the US103 skins I found myself tearing my hair out trying to get natural-looking shades of red and yellow, but I eventually figured it out! As a lot of JG1's skins are very heavy on those two colours, I thought I'd share. Here's what I found! A General Colour Tip: The first thing I realised is that, when I selected the exact colour I wanted, it never seemed to come out quite right in-game. After fiddling with the colours for a bit, I discovered that you have to go a lot darker with the colour you use to get the 'right' shade in-game. Here's a quick example: For this D.VII, I wanted to paint the nose in standard J11 red. I first selected that exact colour, a bright scarlet. However, in-game this ended up being really vibrant - almost plasticy: In order to correct this, I brought the tone of the red down from scarlet to a darker red and tried again. It was still a little too vibrant, so I went further. Eventually, I ended up with a surprisingly dark shade of red: It seems too dark when you select the colour, but this shade works very nicely in-game, and gives (in my opinion) a more natural-looking shade of red. Here you can see it next to the original D.VII: This rings true for pretty much all colours. Red, White, Blue, etc. etc. Working with Yellow: I quickly discovered that Yellow is much harder to work with than red, and finding the right shade can be very tricky. When selecting the exact colour I wanted, the Yellow would come out very wrong in-game. It would have a neon quality about it and appeared like someone had draped a hi-vis jacket over the nose! I tried initially to rectify this by 'dulling down' the yellow, and it had a good effect, but there was still quite a 'neon-y' appearance. I managed to fix this by adding a tiny bit of orange tone into the colour. With that, it gave a far more natural 'painted' looking yellow: And here's an in-game example. This is the way I got the shade I used on Luft's Alb: Anyway, just thought I'd share these findings with a fellow skin-maker. S!
