  1. Evidently, the roster above was made directly from the poll. If you answered that you wish to fly Central only or Central preferred you were put in the Central column. Those that answered either side or both were put into the Merc's column. Of course we know that JG1 would all like to fly together, and it will probably not be an issue... but remember that slots are assigned on a first come basis. Any late arrivals may have to choose to wait for a slot to open up, or join the opposing side if there are open slots there. It really depends on how many show up at any given time. We have about 80 signed up to fly and 60 or so slots to fill. My advice... be early if at all possible. We need to remember too, that this is a "beta" campaign of sorts, (for lack of a better term), and may not be as "intense" as campaigns in the past have been. We wanted to see what works and also to include, (or attract), as many players as possible to generate interest. Most of us in J5 would like to fly Central, (for a change), but I know that some of us may need to switch also if things get too lop-sided. Bottom line is we want to give as many players as possible a chance to participate, including many newcomers who haven't flown in an event like this before. It may take more cooperation and understanding on everyone's part, but we should have fun. GC
  2. Just wanted to congratulate our Red counterparts on their victory in the Spring campaign. It was well fought by all, even as numbers began to dwindle it remained exciting throughout. Looking forward to renewing the competition next Fall... Enjoy your Summer everyone! S! GC
  3. I'll be taking advantage of this as well... Thanks!!
  4. I did not know that Klai. I knew that Beard and Hill were already playing together when they got together with Gibbons. Gibbons was playing in a band called the "Moving Sidewalks" in the late 60's. Sounded NOTHING like what they would become. I recall picking up an album called "Flash" thinking "cool, Gibbons early stuff!" It was awful.
  5. That lil'ol band from Texas. This is some of their early stuff, (Before MTV made em stars) This has more of a "Blues rock" sound, and isn't as over-produced as their later stuff. I think it's great. Jimi Hendricks once called Billy Gibbons one of the best guitarists he'd ever heard.
  6. Thanks for the Leon Redbone Vonrd. Not really my genre, but my Dad used to love listening to him. Brought back some fond memories. On a side note... I used to go out with a girl who did his mother in laws hair.... just thought I'd toss it out there.
  7. Would you guys take this outside... all this technical jargon is ruining everybody's drinking. (jest kiddin')
  8. This is great to hear! Appreciate all that you guys put into these things. Thanks!
  9. As far as the painting goes, I see no difference working with one or the other. The Alpha layer in BOS however, is what makes that "Shine". TBH... It's wayyyyy too much for a WWI skin. So yes, the P47 will Shine, Shine, Shine.
  10. Overthinking it IMO. No different as far as I can tell, but I've just started as well.
  11. Excellent! And I thought rigging a 1/48 Alb was fun!
  12. At first I thought it quite a gimmick, but the guy is fantastic. Delta blues, Blues rock... even a little rock-a-billy, he does it well. Has a couple of albums on Amazon if you care to check him out.
  13. HA! Sorry Davjack but but it just doesn't compare. I mean, hell, even I could clang an anvil. (but I have seen Steve~N~Seagulls before,Good stuff!) This guy is playin' a shovel with 3 strings! Best I could do with that is lay out a garden... a very small garden. In this video, he's playing an ironing board steel guitar, I've also seen him with a cigar box guitar, oil can... all kinds of crazy guitars. I bet if you gave this guy a roasting pan, broomstick, duct tape and a box of rubber bands he'd have your party rockin' in no time!!
  14. when going back to the cockpit view from external, hit ctrl+F1... takes you back to the default cockpit view GC
  15. OK... Unbelievable ... I mean It's a shovel with strings!!! https://youtu.be/VBa...t=RDVBagA0PxVUo
  16. All in all, a well fought campaign. Very close score and some great fights! Hats off to everyone who makes this them main reason I stick around here.
  17. Access denied means you will have to change the security or ownership settings for the files in question. What ver. of Windows? New computer I assume you are running Windows 10, in which case I can't be of much help (8.1 here). you could try looking here... Hope you get it worked out. GC
  18. Perhaps you are right. Maybe I am flying it wrong, maybe I am trying to fly it like the ROF version. Maybe I expect too much or maybe I'm just a crotchety old man or all of the above I would expect to get torn up by someone parked on my 6 at 2-300 meters, but a short bust from that distance and the only damage taken is the engine? Happend too often in ROF, so when it happens in FC a couple of times in such a short span of time I become suspicious. I also don't think the problem is with my stick as I'm also using a warthog, it must be the way I'm flying it. Maybe I just need to spend more time in it, but whatever the reason, I'm still disappointed for now. I felt that the all the other AC released were much improved, I could feel it right off the bat. Other than its speed, (it is faster), I just don't feel that overwhelmed with the DVII. Doesn't make it wrong, just my opinion after 20 minutes or so of flying. GC
  19. I will say this... The DVII is the first disappointment out of the planes that have been released thus far AFAIC. Very sluggish on the controls, and the nose has a tendency to constantly bob up and down in level flight. It makes it very tough to get a good long shot off. Also, just as in ROF, if a shot comes anywhere close to it (and I'm talking the entire plane here), the engine takes damage. Enemy dead on your 6?... at 2-300 meters? you will get engine damage if he fires. I want my Alb. GC
  20. Just saw this post today Vonrd, Wanted to say thanks once again.
  21. They're very pretty Colonel... but can they fight? Very nice work Larner!
  22. What cracks me up is his holding on with one hand all the time. I think I'd invest in a good 5-point harness.
  23. Well, we have many skins in ROF, but I understand that we need to "lighten" them, (or something like that), for FC. They work, but look too dark. Our in-house skinner is no longer with us so we are going to have to have someone direct us in the How-to. When it comes to Gimp... I am just that! GC
  24. Excellent work indeed! Gaudy, perhaps... but well done! At least now we will see ya comin' !! All kidding aside, I like the red/wht/blk Imperial colors. I'm going to have to figure out how to work my J5 skins into FC as well.
