S! All, Just a reminder that phase B is a bit different than our usual FiF. We will be running into the holiday season so this phase is only three sessions instead of four. For the 8, December session Blue team is Entente and Red team is Central. After that, the team that is behind on points can choose to fly Entente or Central for the last session on 15, December.

S! All A quick update to the prisoner rescue mission. In the past you had to land. Now you only have to fly over. The complex trigger is set to "On object entered". If you are over the aerodrome to pick up the pilot, it will not trigger. You need to wait at least as far away as the prison castle. When you see the flares, then approach the aerodrome. You should see the message in the bottom right "pilot picked up. RTB". Landing at a friendly aerodrome completes the mission.

S! ALL Like most people I am always excited about new technology. While the excitement is great there is also attitude of pragmatism about adopting it. To paraphrase Luke Skywalker "You just can't get anything for a J7 now that that the J10s are out." Technology evolves. When do you jump in? Well in my case it is when the old technology is not just obsolete but dead and buried. Yes, I took my beloved flip phone, a present from my Uncle Mosses and traded for a smart phone. Just how smart is it? Definitely better than this old 2001 era HAL 9000 unit I have at the house. Personally I want a "phone" to be a phone. The world has changed. The device is a muti faceted information highway, movie studio, personal assistant and ...............flashlight. I expected many of these features but really bought it for the camera. The images are as good as my now retired 35 mm slr. So what do I expect now? Smart phones will be replaced by google glasses with holo displays. Any day now.

S! ALL We had some glitches in session 2. Many of the European players had Discos. No idea what was up there unless some internet node was overloaded or attacked. Blue team had a glitch with the Recon program. They had correct load out but no camera icon. They successfully took pics of the HQ and the Strategic recon and made it safe back to base. Blue team will have 2 points added to the displayed score at the end of the session. Good job by all. For session 3, All times are changed over so we go back to the usual times. We really need to get rid of Daylight Savings Time.

S! North America has not changed times. FiF starts at 2 pm EDT which I think is 6 pm UTC.

S! All Welcome to "Mountain Madness". Doing this in the mountains looks beautiful but has created some problems. First problem is .... the mountains. There is very little flat land. The entente side has some and the Central side has almost none. Because of this, many secondary missions are ships at a dock. Horse units on the mountain side are really large mountain goats. The General capture, Spy and Rescue missions have been changed. For the General capture and Spy, you just have to find them and they will fire a flare. You do not need to land and pick them up. You will get the pick up message and the appropriate message for the secondary. For the Rescue mission you still have to kill the AAA truck at the prison. The ambulance will spawn at the local airfield. One minute later the ambulance will flare. You must fly very low over the airfield to rescue the prisoner. Remember to take a rope ladder. There are lots of Pups.

S! When I was 20, I was working in a factory making hydraulic pumps for aircraft. All I saw every day was guys. I went to school for x-ray. I worked in hospitals. The scenery was much better. Hospitals are probably the most social work setting especially where the girls outnumber the boys 20 to 1. I remember back in 1980 I was going out to happy hour with some nurses from the night shift. A very friendly group. I had asked out the red head, Irene. She said "But last week, I saw you kissing Mary,." My reply, "Yes, I was kissing her but I was thinking of you." OMG those were the days.

Very disturbing. There are probably 5 companies involved in production. They all have teams of lawyers. There are several unions involved not just actors but grips, electricians, AFL-CIO. I do not see how anyone or group could sign up without a contract. Looks like "Midway" is going to be a very important battle all over again. OK, just remembered. I was at Disney World in Florida in '92. It was the last show of the Indiana Jones thingie. After the show, the guy playing Indiana Jones was down front talking to people and signing books. My girl friend wanted his autograph. I wanted to impress her so I asked him if he was a member of SAG. That caught his attention. He ended up talking to us for 20 minutes explaining how the show worked and the various casting changes. Needless to say the gf was very impressed. The important piece of information was that he was NOT a member of SAG because Florida is a "Right to Work" state. Hawaii is NOT a Right to Work state. Something is very wrong.

S! We have a list of objectives that is displayed every 6 minutes like war grounds.

S! Secondaries appear with Icons when primary is done. Enemy does not see them. I think the spy and General should probably stay "as is" as long as the map allows those locations in the rear. Having to search an area makes for interesting game play. The whole thing with icons is that you can just look at the in game map and see what needs to be done.

S! All cybermat posted a 12 minute video on RoF forums. It is third post down. Guy sitting in an RE8. It starts out like a documentary but ends up making the Blue Max look faded and pale. Most awesome aerial sequences ever. Holy cow

Update Depending on the availability of the roads rivers and train tracks, we should be able to have 3 in each category available in a mission. This adds six more targets. Many of the subtitles are gone. If you see a red icon on the map, go kill it. There is still the repeating list of things that need to be done but the repeating locations that appear on the right side are gone. Because icons can be turned on and off we have a new option for the General Capture and the Spy mission. We can leave them as a region to be searched or we can turn on an Icon in their location. Turning on the icon makes it go faster and also allows for it to be placed in a greater variety of places. It does not have to be way in the back. We could try it one way one time and the other way the next time to see which people prefer? The HQ is still a must find target but after the plane gets back with pictures, it has an icon that turns on. The front line recon also has Icons so it is no longer an A map, B map thing. It now has 3 random locations. Aerodrome attack may be changed to both buildings, hangars, static planes, Machine guns and anything else I can cram in there. Doing damage to any of them adds to a cumulative total.

S! This is working out very well due to a lot of hard work by Vonrd. I hate to dump more on him but anyone that is going to be or thinking about FC should put in a request for Dr.1 skin. The reason is to get them ready for FC but also to get them ready in a group. We can then have a download of JG1 skins in one place so we can download all the skins at once. Eventually we will need a skin management thing. Basically we post new skins and update the total package as well. This way, people that previously downloaded the "Total Package" can just download the new skin. New players and other squads can download the total package. Does the total package and new skins need to be installed on the server?

I like the idea that keys will stop plane theft. Obviously proposed by someone that has no idea what planes do.
