Does anyone have any info on the paint schemes and letter markings of the P-38 piloys who engaged Oesau? From Wikipedia: Oesau was chased by 1st Lt. James Leslie Doyle, 1st Lt. Wilbur L. Jarvis III and 1st Lt. James C. Austin, of the 428th Fighter Squadron (474th FG, 9th AF). The guncam footage widely shown was apparently from "Pappy" Doyle's plane. Ideally, I'd like paint / markings for his aircraft.

Edit: Destroyed Bridge 3 and got text notification of destruction but icon remained on map. Same with Fac 1. Also, one building at Fac 1 was floating in air.

Butzz... Aerodrome targets are not very apparent on map. No color highlights or icons. Took me quite a while to ID Aerodrome 1 because there was no icon. We need to see that the Icon disappears when the target is destroyed. Bridges are highlighted but only have the number... "1", "2", "3". No text "Bridge". Not a big deal since it's obviously a bridge icon.

I had a bit of difficulty finding the practice server. FYI it's server name is "fif test" and because it's all lower case is located at the bottom of the list (which actually works out quite well). The current mission is "fif classic practice".

I've completed both your and my skins. I changed the lozenge colors on mine to reflect what this guy did with his DVIII replica. His research is pretty good IMHO. http://www.collectors-edition.de/f-t-s_buchbestellung_english.htm (They are the Fokker D.VIII-In Detail Vol 1 and 2) Also made the wings pretty glossy since they were varnished and were glossy in reality. Added oil drips (shiny also). Since these would be relatively fresh aircraft, I'm not going to do much in the way of paint chipping. Gen had asked last night for JG1 color standards and I said I would send him a psd with the colors. I had thought that I had one made up but I can't seem to find among the myriad of files in my Skinning folders. I figure that my Fokker DVII psd might be best since it has the JG1 standard colors (as noted in this post): There are also non standard colors such as Klai's Pink and Snaggle's Navy colors which I am working on for him (which will, of course, be submitted for review before being inserted into the JG1 skin pack.) Actually, the Pfalz DXII template isn't released yet. I thought it had been.

I am beginning to work on the skins for these two planes and will entertain requests. Post requests in this thread. If no requests I will use the pilot's DR1 and DVII skins as a guide for them.

Looks pretty good so far. No need to use VRNecksaver in this one.

I had mentioned that I noticed this. Gen asked for info on it. Fascinating free pdf downloads of a DVIII reproduction (and other planes as well). http://www.collectors-edition.de/f-t-s_buchbestellung_english.htm I was surprised that the wing has no fabric over the plywood skin at all and that the colors are wood stains with marine varnish final coats. The woodgrain shows through and that is modeled in the FC skins. Looks like they got it right (but maybe should actually be more glossy). Good info on the lozenge fabric as well. Really nice oxy/acetylene welds too (what I cut my welding teeth on).

I think that you should start a ticket with 777. It's worth a shot.
