  1. It may not have been "restocked" yet which means the price may still be good. I will keep an eye on it and let you know if I see a change in availability. They have been holding the sale price now for over 4 months.
  2. I don't have the tracking number but they took the money and I should be getting an email when it ships. .. which is better than taking the money and not getting an email that it hasn't shipped. Always have that anxiety....
  3. WinWing has been showing some really nice hardware on their website but they were involved in some previous contracts and not able to produce. There was a 2-3 month delay... but they have apparently caught up and I was able to order the F-16 TQS a couple of days ago. Shipping was reasonable and timely. They have changed their website and it is now: STORE| WWSIMSTORE
  4. Geee whiz it looks like you were just about to climb in the car those pics were so sharp and close. Looking forward to the caption for the pointing to the wall pic.
  5. A friend of mine took his young son to one of these.... it was the Naval battle R/C stuff with all scales of ships... which made it funny when a giant Fletcher Class DD was bigger than a small scale model of the Tirpitz.... but these are the models with the balsa sides on them and the CO2 cannons that shoot BB's and they sink each other and then refloat and repair and do it again. SO.... they decided to have the "National Championship" and the game was the Allied side was going to escort this merchant ship and the Axis fleet was going to try and sink it. Well... they didn't have anyone that wanted to handle the merchant ship.... no guns... no funs..... so he volunteered his son who was thrilled to get to play with anything. So while they were all banging away at each other and retrieving and repairing and refloating... he just kept sailing back and forth across the pond and scored a point for each trip (their rules) so at the end of the day... all the guys with the battleships and cruisers that blasted each other all afternoon score points for sinking and being sunk... no one sank the merchant ship and guess who won the "Nationals." What a crack up.
  6. Meanwhile at the lake.....
  7. I had a guy today that is part of a team restoring a 2-seat MiG 15. They hope to have it flying again in the next couple of months if anyone is interested in going for a ride. I can't clearly remember where... either Missouri or Ohio if I remember correctly. Not a small operation, they are an air museum, just didn't have much time to talk with him about it, we were talking about too many other planes.
  8. Great stuff Klaiber. I love the Link trainer, I walk past one every day at work. We have a restored trainer identical to that one in the lobby. Imagine what the bouncing and vibration of those train cars did to the moving parts inside those simulators. I bet there were pieces/parts on the deck after every move, then you get to play the where did this go before it fell off game. My neighbor growing up in Austin in the 60s when Bergstrom was a SAC base was Col. Harry Lester. He was on the Buff and as an AC commander he had the red phone with the 100' cord on it so he could take it out in the back yard when he was grilling steaks. I would see it on the picnic table next to him and think.... wonder what it sounds like if that thing rings. (Fall of 1962)
  9. I saw an update today that says WinWing will be re-stocking items Aug 15. Ouch..... but at least it was an update.
  10. Sopwith Triplane Released for Flying Circus – Vol. II and Spring Sale is on until April 29th! Dear Pilots! This week we released Version 4.704 for the IL-2 Great Battles series and with it came the release of the long awaited Sopwith Triplane for Flying Circus – Vol. II. The "Tripe" as it was famously called, has three beautiful wings! Each wing has its own ailerons making it quite maneuverable in battle with enough armament to allow its pilots to be confident in a dogfight with any adversary of the era. The Sopwith Triplane is the final aircraft planned for Flying Circus – Vol. II and that brings the plane-set for FC2 to a total of ten. When combined with FC1 there are twenty aircraft available for WWI pilots in Great Battles! We will continue to make aircraft for Flying Circus and we remind you that we have the Sopwith Snipe and Siemens-Schuckert D.IV Collector Planes also in development for FC. And the new Western Front map for FC2 is in heavy development in partnership with Ugra Media. We hope you enjoy the Sopwith Triplane! Spring (Easter) Sale is on until April 29th! Just a reminder that the Spring (Easter) Sale is still live in the IL-2 Official Webstore and on Steam where you can save between 50%-85% on all released Great Battles content! Thanks to the discounts, some of the items on sale hit an all-time low price: Tank Crew – Clash at Prokhorovka – 66% OFF for the first time ever! (Website and Steam) Includes two single-player campaigns Steel Birds Scripted Campaign – 50% OFF for the first time ever! (Website) NOTE: having at least the base game (Stalingrad) on Steam means you can launch it from the Steam client without entering a login and password and you can access your IL-2 content purchased elsewhere if you link the accounts.
  11. Yeah.... this is a good sign that something is moving at least. These guys are announcing stuff all the time and apparently they signed a deal with the Chinese military to supply some hardware for their sims so I am guessing that is what has knocked everything back so far. I have been trying to get the TQS for the Viper for almost 4 months now but they are not releasing any. I have mine pre-ordered which is something of a comfort.... but they still have not notified me to complete the payment which is the signal that they are producing and shipping.

Sopwith Triplane Coming to Flying Circus Vol. II One of the more distinctive aircraft from WWI is coming very soon to Flying Circus – Vol. II – the Sopwith Triplane! The “Tripe” as it was sometimes called is an iconic fighter plane that personified radical design experimentation during the Great War. If two wings were good, then three must be better! The Tripe was a very popular plane in Rise of Flight and we hope our new version here in FC2 will prove just as popular. The Tripe is coming in the 4.704 update which we plan to release before the end of the month. This is the tenth and final plane to be included in Flying Circus – Vol. II and completes the plane-set while we work with our partner Ugra Media to complete the new Western Front map. Check her out in the pics below! B-26 (AI) Coming to Battle of Normandy Our new B-26 is in a state of late development and will be coming to Battle of Normandy and the Great Battles series as a whole in the coming weeks. Event though it is an AI piloted plane, the B-26 brings new mission possibilities for all modes of gameplay for the Great Battles series. The USAAF 9th Air Force used the B-26 extensively in Europe during the war and it bombed tactical targets on a daily basis such as bridges, airfields, railyards, troop encampments and invasion beaches. We’ve modeled the B-26B-55 variant and we will also include several beautiful skins that depict aircraft of the era. You will encounter her in Campaigns and Careers and you can include her in any custom missions you build. She’s sleek, fast and powerful! Controller Profile Feature in Development In Developer Diary #313 we discussed the new Joystick Profile feature we are working on for Great Battles. The system will allow for assigning key maps, joystick curves to custom input profiles which can be assigned to individual planes or set as default. Head on over to the official forum to learn more and see some very early screens. We wish all of you a wonderful Spring season and a Happy Easter to you and your families! The Sturmovik Team

    Gotha skins

Hey Vonrd, thanks a lot for taking the time to make this for me. I really appreciate it. I enjoy flying fighters the most but there is something (masochistic) about the biggest target in the game and when you get away with one it is really a hoot.

    Gotha skins

Hey that is really nice Klaiber... what do I do now?

I would like one in the night camoflage scheme, or all black either is good.
  17. I am with CAE in Dallas.... and the TSA restrictions have nothing to do with Covid. No one goes in a sim without TSA clearance and an instructor, that happened after 9-11 and was normally limited to aliens but extended to all flight crew members by company policy. Then, if you are not actively involved in training the sim cannot go on motion. Texas is pretty much RED. We can't even bring in family members.
  18. WOW... we are on total lock down and have been since Covid started. No one can even come into the building with out a TSA clearance. Still have to go through the infrared cameras. We can't have family or anyone in the building for 2 years now.
  19. We should send this one to JG-5 guys.
  20. I had a former East German pilot in the sim with me today and we were talking about the planes that were available to fly (for a fee) here in the USA and in Europe now and he was commenting on the old MiGs and said that the recoil from the 37mm cannon was so strong that it would knock as much as 30 kts off your speed. He recommended having the nose low when firing and not near the stall speed lest it really upset the aircraft. I asked him if he was exaggerating, and he said quite plainly... nope... not kidding it was really that strong.
  21. So.... was the IPMS really having a show there or did someone photoshop the picture? It would make sense if they had that MiG sitting there as an attraction.
  22. Finally got to pre-order the F-16 TQS from WinWing. They had it back ordered to start supplying Feb 15th, then they kicked it back to March 15 then it was Out Of Stock with no date at all. I keep checking each day and sure enough it popped this morning. Could still be months away but at least something is moving.
  23. I spent a couple of hours with my Godfather (Snaggle) working on graphics and monitors and we put the new monitor through its paces and it is spectacular. For someone that doesn't like/want VR.... this is fantastic and it makes using your expensive hardware peripherals a snap. All this and we have not even pushed it so far as it is capable of 240hz refresh rate. It is truly immersive, I almost ducked when I closed the canopy on the 109. I got it for my driving sim... but now I have to get another one for the flight sim... I have been trying to think of a way to talk myself out of it and I can't come up with a reason.
  24. I just got the Samsung G9 Odyssey 49" curved monitor and it is every bit as clear and fast as the BenQ monitors I have been using for years. I set it up for my driving sim and the wheel on the screen is about an inch bigger than the wheel on my setup (Fanatec) I have not tried it with a flight sim yet, but I will plug in something and see how it looks, but for Assetto Corsa and Automobilista 2 is has absolutely kicked ass.
