S! All Spring sale starts tommorrow. Great time to pick up a new plane or weapons mod. New patch will probably be out after sale. They are going to redo the statistics and leaderboard. It should be interesting. They will be redoing some of the server settings and creating a 2 tier system for stats. Probably a helper friendly Icons and auto control level and a hard core, nothing but warmed up engine level. Both Roland and Halb will be in new patch as well as channel career. If you have an N-17, you get a British N-17 for free.

S! All It took a while. There are a couple of Beta dogfight config files in the data folder. They look loke the 'Old' config files. I have not done anything with them. I think they were left in in error. The 'stock' looking config file was overwriten to accomodate the new server mods/scoring system. It has a new line added. Just under the //Mission settings, true - option on, false - option off And above the Objecticon=0 line is a new line: Preset=2 2 is for Expert mode 1 is Normal 0 is for custom. I have set all JG1 to Preset =2. Subtitles on and warmed up engines. In the Multiplayer selection screen you will see a number…

Hey guys, short notice, but we're going to host a pre-hostilities mash up on our server tonight if you would like to come. We're inviting some of the Entente guys for BA III, you and Jasta 5. Feel free to spread the word among your CP brethren if you like. As usual, we'll be on about 8pm EDT, with proper start ~9pm. Hope to see your six straight and level then!

Guess who's got their head tracking device and software calibrated perfectly? Thats right, c4nucK has finally given up the hatswitch for good gentlemen. I've even gotten use to it almost completely. What a difference. Its a whole new level of immersion even if I only have 2dof. Can't wait to practice with you guys again. From this point on, expect my skill level to increase every time I play. I finally feel like I can truly fly and think three dimensionally. There is just no way to do that with a hatswitch. See you in the skies gentlemen! Regards, Tyson II./JG1_c4nucK

Updated 23 March 2013 for DCS: World 1.2.3 I'm not sure if any of you have been running any mods on your DCS install but I've found a few that I found to be hard to live without. I figured I'd share with you guys here and please post what you've found as well. You can use JSGME to add mods just like Il-2. Go to this thread for a step-by-step installation if you're not familiar with setting up JSGME. DCS: World This version of the Ricardo pit with Russian lettering works with 1.2.3. The Cyrillic leters are in the stock version now so it's not a big change (this will also have some nice Su-27/33 pits with it from the looks of the screen caps). Be sure to …

You just have probably read this already as have I. But its fun to go back over again with new knowledge. Such as me finally understanding Walter "Graf Punski" Krupinski. This interview talks about their first meeting and the meeting of many other aces. Enjoy gentlemen. Excuse the minor spelling issues. I have no idea why the person who wrote this didn't check his spelling better but its good none the less. Erich Hartmann Interview http://www.hotlinecy.com/hartmann.htm

Uploaded some more docs last night. Enjoy gentlemen, please rate and subscribe. Fighter Bombers - Weapons of WWII https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThsmpT1dD6o B-17 Flying Fortress - Warbirds of WWII P-47 Thunderbolt - Warbirds of WWII Tempest At War Bf-110 Destroyer - Wings of the Luftwaffe Enjoy them with your morning coffee or at your leisure. I did not upload this, I found this earlier this morning. Its a great tactical "how to dogfight" video from the early 90's. Its about jet aircraft but 90% of what they are teaching is perfectly application to prop planes. This one is pretty rare. Art of the Kill

This is what I was speaking about to a few of the members last night on Ghost Skies. Check this thread out I posted on m4t. Its my Thrustmaster Hotas X (Which was donated to me brand new btw from a good friend). Moded with a PS1 Analogue stick over the hatswitch. Also used in conjunction with two programs. 1.) Joy2key, which allows my hatswitch to act as a mouse emulator instead of the predetermined 30 degree increments that you get when using stock hatswitch views. 2.) ControlMK, which allows me to assign multiple tasks to one button. (I.E. Left on hatswitch produce the left incriment view PLUS I assigned pressing left to my "h" key, which in IL-2 I programed it to…

Just wanted to share one last thing. You guys may have seen this, you may not have. This is a G6 home sim-pit that some guy built. It's really well done. The only thing missing would be actuators if the cockpit was to actually move around. The amount of detail the guy put into this is pretty ridiculous. Lots of home made genius here. WARNING: Be prepared to change your underwear/boxers.. The more you scroll down the more your mouth will salivate. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3534109.html I plan on building either a 109 or 190 cockpit once I get another decent welding job again. Its pretty much my "anti-drug" lol. Videos of the same cockpit.…

S! JG1, Its been a pleasure flying with you guys. I'm slowly getting better and more comfortable with your style of flying so thank you for bearing with me through this transitional period. After the first two games I honestly wouldn't of been surprised if you guys would of sent me to a different flight channel lol. And I wouldn't blame you!! =] Anyway, I've posted this on a couple other sites but I wanted to include it here as well incase you don't visit the same sites I do. I recently recieved access to a close friend of mines ftp server that has over 55 terabytes of rare documentaries on WW2/Vietnam/Korea/WWI. I've been slowly uploading them to my YT accoun…

I had this emailed to me, there are supoed to be photos of the planes with the numbers built but I assume we all know most of the models called out. Most Americans who were not adults during WWII have no understanding of the magnitude of it. This listing of some of the aircraft produced and other facts gives a bit of insight to it. • 276,000 aircraft manufactured in the US . • 43,000 planes lost overseas, including 23,000 in combat. • 14,000 lost in the continental U.S. The US civilian population maintained a dedicated effort for four years, many working long hours seven days per week and often also volunteering for other work. WWII was the largest human e…
