Hello everyone! As you all know, WW1 aviation has long fascinated me. I believe the story of WW1 (and even more specifically, WW1 aviators) tends to be overshadowed by WW2 and doesn't get as much press as it deserves. I also enjoy reading/writing and now that I no longer have to write college papers (woo hoo! 😁), I occasionally get the itch to research something and write about it. That being the case, I present to you, "Climbing Higher" - my personal blog on all things WW1 aviation! Every so often, when I have the inclination and free time, I'll be posting articles about WW1 aviation to my personal blog (linked below): https://rookieace.wixsite.com/climbi…

Worth sharing your input. At the end I suggested the module most needing a refresh is the Mig-21 https://forms.gle/RD1xBvNNDYuYVgrw7

I just got curious this morning on if the MIG 23 would be ever coming to DCS and low and behold, I saw this article https://stormbirds.blog/2024/01/24/dcs-mig-23mla-status-update-from-razbam/ If this gets released this year, would we start implementing these? I dont know that much on the 23 but it looks like a really cool aircraft!

I can't say that I'm totally convinced but I like the attitude of saying, "We know it's going to fail but we want to see just how it fails". It's all important data. They KNOW it's going to fail but their test vehicles are not so exorbitantly expensive that they can't absorb that failure, learn from it and progress to the next stage. EDIT: The fact that there are no human lives involved is a significant factor. It seems that there are always individuals willing to put their lives on the line to further knowledge of the currently unknown... Chuck Yeager, Scott Crossfield, two who survived and/but, unfortunately Geoffrey de Havilland, Mel Apt and numerous others who …

IMO, this is the best part of the update: you search for an assigned command by pressing a button on your control device

Watching several videos on IL-2 this evening to prep me getting back in the cockpit and I was thinking, has 1C ever dropped any hints to a possible pacific expansion? The pacific theatre is easily my favourite in WWII, I just adore the naval aircraft of the IJN and USN. Leatherneck studios dropped a massive news update for their utterly gorgeous looking Vought F4U Corsair and its left me wishing that we could see a pacific expansion for IL-2. I'd be reliving my Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 2 days in F4F Wildcats and Zero's or the B6N2's etc. A man can dream... right?
